Just mean the public perception is he is entrenched due to a long tenure...used Barnes due to both being at UT and Barnes' exit being so recent...could have used Mack Brown too...understand there are differences in the end products. While yes Augie has 5 NC, 3 of them are at Fullerton...not sure how much weight they are given for him at UT. Going back to also comparing Augie to Mack Brown I came across something interesting. Mack Brown's last NC before he was run out of town was 2005 and his last appearance in the NC game was 2009...Augie's last NC was 2005 and his last appearance in the Championship Series of the CWS was 2009...

I think voters still keep them in based on the fact they were in the CWS last year and due to Augie still being at the helm...but at the moment they are not deserving of being in the top 25. I think Augie will get pass with a subpar year this year but if there is another one next year...see Rick Barnes

Appel and Correa aren't ready for the bigs right now...they need a little more seasoning...don't be shocked to see them come September though if all goes well. Singleton was called up last year so his "clock" started then but he signed an extension anyways so that basically voids the reason players are held in the minors. Now the Kris Bryant thing is crazy...kid should be starting opening day for Chicago. They will probably be a pretty good squad this year but I will laugh if the keep him down to gain an extra year and miss the playoffs by a game or 2 that he could have helped win...of course I still just don't like the Cubs too...

Typical not fraternity man comment. If you have not been in a fraternity then you don't know they half of it. Every chapter of every organization will have their bad apples who are in it for the wrong reasons...but from my experience, in time they will weed themselves out. I wish more of the select coaches had this mind set. If they are going to teach anything other than a fastball it needs to be a change-up. No need to put the strain of breaking balls on such young arms. A guy I played HS ball with was one of those kids throwing CBs at 11...signed as an UDFA after 4 years at Sam but ended up failing the physical due to his elbow being in such bad shape...and he played middle infield in college...hadn't pitched since HS.

Don't work for a union (not in a line of work for one) but I assume might have been a decision where there was no alternative. Oil industry isn't just booming right now and food needed to be put on the table

If I remember correctly he self-reported his alcohol relapses in 09 and 12 as well. Its gotta take a lot for him to admit his wrong doing and I would expect some leniency from MLB but he obviously has more to worry about than his baseball career at this point.

Wanna talk about classless and unsportsmanlike...9U Young Guns (Bridge City?) still stealing bases up 30-1 in the 3rd inning Saturday night. Was watching my nephew's Pirahana team on the field next to them and it made me sick...but our little 8U team knocked them off in the championship lol

Not a big fan of the trade but I think the FO saw Thurman was not developing like they thought when they drafted him and Folty has struggled with command at every level...I really liked his potential though. Ruiz was a guy with good plate discipline...saw him as a .250 with 15-20 HR guy if he developed. With Houston acquiring Colin Moran last summer I guess they though Ruiz was expendable

MSU, Bama, & Ole Miss lose a lot from this year...granted Bama just seems to reload. I Wanna say MSU loses 13 starting seniors and Bama and Ole Miss lose 10 a piece...that's not counting underclassmen like Amari Cooper who are assured to declare. That being said I have A&M losing 3 outta Arky, Bama, Auburn & LSU. If Chavis can shape up the D then they have a shot at surprising 1 more from that group but that remains to be seen. Arkansas very well may win the West...they look scary

Looks like he just put the home games in bold...not projected wins. I think 2015 will be pretty rough for Texas. Defense will be very young and will struggle. Don't care how good of a D coach Strong is...if the players aren't there a coach can only do so much. On top of that, if the O doesn't vastly improve those those young defenders will be put in some bad positions making success that much tougher. I've got them at 5-7
