[/quote] You KILL me.  You talk trash about all the teams and how great Kville is and then they get their butts handed to them and you don't even man up to show your face on those threads.  Then you get on an EC thread and talk about how Newton will run all over us.  I promise you this it will be a closer game than the Newton vs Kirbyville game.  This game comes down to who makes the fewest mistakes and who takes advantage of the other teams mistakes.  I CAN'T WAIT TILL EC PLAYS KIRBYVILLE!!!  Sorry about yelling, but it is so true.  (PS I hope Kirbyville thinks EC always plays like they did against HJ they will be shocked when the ball is kicked off.  Just saying!)  ;D

I think this is going to be a GOOD game.  This is hard for me because I know kids on both teams, but if HF plays the whole game with few mistakes I feel they have the advantage.  Good luck to both teams and wish EC had a bye so I could go and see this one.

Oh I know it is all fun.  I do have to admit that after our game with HJ I was worried because our intensity just wasn't there.  After the Woodville game I feel MUCH better.  I know that it will be a great game and it feel it will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes and who takes advantage of mistakes made.  No matter what it will be a great game.

Maybe, but if i recall right that is what they said the last two years too!  Just saying.

Sport1971, I know I am not saying that Kountze isn't something to be reckoned with, but when someone says that the only real threat in this district is Newton, well they have another thing coming.  Kountze, like all the teams in this district, will have to come out for each game ready to play.  IMO this is one of the toughest 2A districts in the state, and don't count out ANY team here.  Eating crow, well most of us know what it taste like and ALL of us hope to not taste it in the near future.  This I do know for sure, Kountze has several other teams in this district to be ready for not just Newton!

Cut blocking or chop blocking as you called is NOT illegal in Texas.  Basically the cut block rule is if you are a lineman and lined up within 7 yards of the center, you can cut block in any direction relative to the ball. You can't cut from behind the defensive player, obviously. If you are outside of the area seven yards from the center, you can cut block, but not in the direction of the original position of the ball (crackbacks). Same deal for receivers and backs who line up outside the tackle box, and for players in motion at the snap. There are some details but that's the basics of it or as I have been told.

Really illegal chop block??? I watched the film too and didn't see any illegal chop blocks on either side of the ball..what I did see is illegal hits in the back and HOLD on the HJ side, dropped passes that were called completions for HJ and the list goes on and on.  PLEASE illegal chop blocks need to watch the film again!
