Yes. Love the kid but if height were the most important element, shouldn't we have won a State championship this year?. Morse ill be fine in due time and his time is coming. He will work on his speed, agility and athleticism and he will be a major factor in a couple of years.

Morse is 5' 10" and runs a 5.3 40.  Not nearly mobile enough in PNG's offfense. He will be fine when he is a senior. Walker will contribute on defense. That's why Faircloth is playing him both ways.

PNG doesn't have a fullback. Halfin will be the starting "R" back and Blake Lane is the starting "H" back. Several coaches and players have told me that Walker has already been named the starter. In fact, they say Morse'name has not even been mentioned. Walker will be the starter at QB and also play corner. Lemoine will be his back-up. Should Walker get hurt then Morse will be brought up from JV. Several offensive starters will be playing defense as well like Rose, Murdock, Sparks.

Johnny, your first post contains bad information. The starting runningback will be Halfin. This will be his first experience on varsity. The starting QB will be Walker, also a junior who earned the starting position last year until injured. PNG will also have many other juniors starting such as Blake Lane, Kaleb Sparks, Avery Murdoch, Blain Peveto and Michael Hughes. The PNG coaching staff (including Faircloth) have already informed the players and are working them in off season accordingly. Many of the players have been told to prepare to play both ways.

Smith did start but Walker is supposed to be back this week. Faircloth played alot of underclassmen against Ozen. Caleb Sparks (soph) and a freshman linebacker. The freshman QB is not on varsity. Don't really know if he wants to play D but probably will because Walker will start at QB for the next 2 years.

Last years game between Ned and PNG freshman saw 5 PNG starters out, 3 PNG td passes dropped and 2 PNG running td's called back as my memory serves. Not exactly a blow out.

That coach knows that over the last few years HF has lost it's athletes because the community keeps firing their coaches. By moving them up as freshman he basically makes transfer impossible. They would have to sit out a year. Those caliber of kids do not want to do that so they are forced to stay there. Coach is a smart man. Certain people in the community, not so much.

I think that your new coach is very smart. He pulled those kids up to varsity to make it much more difficult for them to transfer when Westbrook comes knockin.

PNGfan- I promise you that those posts are not coming from anyone in the Walker family. They support AJ and they feel like he should be the starter. In fact, they want their son to stay on JV. It appears that someone adopted a screen name to make people think exactly what you thought.

12 gage, I know those people and your comment is a lie. It should be deleted. If your outrageous comment were true how do you explain the many athletes that left HF over the last 2-3 years. Lets review: Kimler (Nederland) The Hunter brothers (Ozen), Shielder (Shelbyville), Williams (Vidor), Sturgiss (Katy), Worsham (Austin), Halfin (PNG). Doesn't look like a disagreement with coaching. Your out of line.

I totally agree. It seems like PNG would/could have the best of both worlds by playing Smith at QB and receiver and Walker splitting time at QB with Smith. Smith would be on alot of college radars as a receiver. Utilize both kid's strengths.

Many people have said that he has been a back-up only since ms. Don't know if that is accurate. That's what I have been told. Game experience is game experience no matter what age you start. Anyway, good luck to these young men.

I spoke with the kid after the game Friday. He said he has been a QB since he was 9. He's quarterbacked every game that he has ever played and he guessed about 50. Youth football, middle school and 1 year of HS. Sounds about right.

The question is, do you play the senior with hardly any game experience in his career or do you play the Sophomore with over 50 games experience? The experience factor certainly showed last Friday night. I say play them both. Use Smith as a wide receiver with Chipman, Rose and Murdoch. Not many defenses could cover those four guys. You can still use Smith in the QB position when needed.

PNG QB issue should be resolved after tonight. WALKER!!! No question about it.

I asked a coach this morning and you are right on his height. He weighs 155 lbs. Lamar's new QB is 5' 9" and is supposed to be really good.

I agree with Prep. You gotta give the senior his shot. Walker will see alot of playing time this year but maybe not as a starter.

I was told the same thing. Both QB's will split time. I was able to watch a practice last week. Walker was deadly accurate out to 50 yds. He was very mobile in the pocket and he can throw on the run as good as any QB that I have seen. For a freshman that's not bad. Looking forward to watching.

PNGFAN, I was told that the Walker Kid went out and won the backup position outright. The other kid concentrates on baseball and would not devote the time necessary. Faircloth was going to move him to running back and the kid said no and quit. I think that it is true that the other boy may be a little taller but he is nowhere near as good of a quarterback as Walker.
