1. So, did anyone ever answer my original question? Good luck to Colmesneil in their coaching search. I know a couple guys interested if you want some good "Rookie Head Coaches." I think you would like either of the two!
2. I personally know 2 men that applied for this job. Yes they would or will be rookie AD/HC's and both have been successful OC's at their current schools. Both may or may not stay a long time in Colmesneil if they get the job, but I tell you this, either of these 2 guys would give the school, and the kids, all they have, and IMO, both will make great AD's and will work to make the school successful in every sport.
3. He was there in 2011-2012 (7-3) and 2012-2013 (6-4). Made the playoffs in 2012 as the OC.
4. I don't know about ties, but he was the OC in Livingston for a few years.
5. I know of one applicant, OC from South Texas that IMO would do a great job.
6. I had a couple of friends interested in the job. All I really wanted to know is, are there kids that will work, and is there any talent walking the halls. There will be issues at every school.
7. Just saw where Tarkington is open. Did Coach Carpenter leave or what? They had some success the last couple years. Do they have and talent left or coming?
8. Saw this job posted. Do they have anything coming?
9. Congrats on the win lastnight, proud for the Bobcats and Coach Finney.  Bobcat55 I need you to e-mail me at [email protected]. I would like you to keep us up here in Maud updated on ya'lls scores. Thanks
10. I hope Shepherd gives Coach Keel time to actually build a program. There are going to be sloppy games, there are going to be games where the team has tons of penalties. Learning how to win will come. Sounds like Coach Keel has started the process of turning things around with the number of kids that are playing football.
11. Good Luck tonight to Coach Keel, I know you have been looking forward to this night for a long time!
12. Good luck to both teams tonight. I have Mad Respect for both coaches. I have had sons play for both Walter Fortune and Josh Finney, and they are both great leaders. If the game is close, Coach Finney will find a way to win it. But I expect Walter to have the Hornets ready. Should be a great game.
13. And the HD girls will be as physical as the guys. All are expected to work hard and be physical in Coach Finneys program.
14. I also am excited for the Bobcats, I can remember when you would rather play any surrounding school besides HD because you were gonna get hit. I just wish I were in a position to join him now. I expect big things out of Coach and the Bobcats.
15. Congrats Chip, sounds like you are building a great staff. If anyone can do it, you can.
16. My son turned out the better for the experance so its all good. In fact, I was as guilty as any other parent of sticking my nose in where it didn't belong. I have apologized to as many as would listen for my actions, and I hope Chip can get the job and get the program turned in the right direction. It will take a tremendous amount of work and we will all have to get behind the program to see it rise up. There may be help there in the form of coaches that will get in and help him, lets hope so. Good luck Pirates. jdb class of 1976
17. All I am saying is this, there is a guy coaching at HD that will bring excitement and a will to win to a program that in the past has been pretty good. If I, me, maybe not you, but me, If I had a son that had the chance to play for Coach Finney and I were able to move to where he is coaching, I would do it because they have a better english department, because everyone knows you can't move for athletic purposes.
18. I don't know who HD has who can or can't play QB, but if I had a son in a backup spot in say Liberty or the surrounding area, I would be looking for a house in the HD school district.
19. I will say this, some meant it for harm, God turned it to good. Here's hoping Chip gets the chance.
20. The best way for the program to have a chance at success will be to give the job to Chip Keel. He loves the town, loves the kids, and I believe the town will give him a chance.
21.
Its easy to win at the 1A level with 3 guys that all signed with TCU out of high school.  I have respect for the HD program, having played and coached against them, but they dang sure don't have that type of talent running around Hull, Daisetta, or Raywood.
Yes Maud did have the big 3, but the winning didn't stop for Coach Finney when they left. He also had success in Teague. HD will be fine with Josh leading them. I expect big things.
22.
Had the honor of meeting with Coach Finney this afternoon. Very sharp and professional. Real down to earth and easy to talk to. H-D has not seen an off season program like this since Coach Skidmore was here. H-D will get back on track and soon. Coach Finney has a proven formula for winning and the H-D School board, along with the community leaders have bought into it. H-D is finally willing to spend some money and upgrade many things for our kids. Good job hiring committee, I was very skeptical at first. Good hire.
Very good. With support, things will get good fast.
