  1. Does anyone have the district schedule for District 9-4A Division 2? Social media has conflicting schedules
  2. To answer HDBobcats9's question: everything will remain as it is only the Classifications will change;example: AA Division I will become AAA Division I, AA Division II will become AAA Division II, etc.  Only the title of the Classification will change.
  3. 3A Division II State Championship was played in round three !!!!! LaMarque was easily the best team Navasota played.  Navasota deserves the Championship, they took care of their business. Game against Gilmer was not even close, I don't know if that is an indication of how weak the North Regions are or how strong the South, especially Region III was.  At one time Region III had as many as 5 teams in the Top 10.  I saw the LaMarque/Navasota game and without the 2 snaps over the punters head and driving to the 1/2 yard line and not scoring and driving to the 2 yard line and fumbling and numerous personal foul penalties (all merited) it may have been LaMarque getting their 6th State Championship but Navasota did what they had to do to win and that is a tribute to them.  #2 and #68 are two of the best players in the state and both proved that yesterday at Cowboys Stadium..Congratulations to coach Fedora and his staff.
  4. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank the SPORTS fans of Southeast Texas for coming out to Provost/Umphrey Stadium last night to support YOUR high school players.  It was the most successful night so far.  It has grown way larger than we ever expected it to when we started three years ago.  We want to thank the Ford Dealers in Southeast Texas as well as Lamar University and the LU administration for their help.  We want to thank Chuck Langston for all the help he gave us this past week.  We had a great crowd and for the third year in a row the game was won in the last 4 minutes.  As the President of the Southeast Texas Coaches Association and Chairman of the All-Star committee I want to personally thank Coach Dan Hooks, Michael Broussard, Josh Smalley, Randy Crouch, Terry Pool, Bobby Lock, Toby Foreman, Eddie Dyer, John Davis, Lance Dale, David Martel, Nathan Byerly, T.J. Reed, Hiawatha Hickman and Terry King...these men were the back bone of the game.  You can not imagine how much work goes into this game and they are the reason it is done so well.  We would also like to thank Frank Middleton and Ernest Anderson for being our Honorary Captains, both of these young men have represented Southeast Texas with character and pride everywhere they have played.  We also want to thank the coaches, Jeff Matthews and his staff and Bryan Barbay and his staff, for a great week of practice and the players that worked well all week...it was one of the most fun weeks we have had.  Lastly I want to again thank the FANS that came out and supported this entire Southeast region.  With the money we raised we will be able to give more scholarships this next year and we plan to have a Christmas project for kids in Southeast Texas...I will keep y'all posted. Thanks one last time for coming through for the students and athletes in Southeast Texas, we are hoping that next year will even be better, Thanks, Coach Mark Foreman....retired and enjoying life.  God bless you all!!!!!!
  5.                                                           After having several players decide not to play this spring this is the roster for the game as of today, Sunday May, 27.  We sure hope we don't have any more players decide not to play.  Our main goal is to make this an honorable event that offers Southeast Texas athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent on last time.  We hope that the fans of Southeast Texas High School football will show up in record numbers to see these young men.  The Southeast Texas Coaches Association All-Star committee put in countless hours to make this game something the entire Golden Triangle and the 40+ school districts can be proud of.  Please come out and watch these young men play their hearts out one last time.  Thanks, Coach Foreman, the dad.  3rd Annual                                         SE Texas Ford Dealers All-Star Classic                                                   2012 Football Teams 6. It is a sad time for the Bobcats...Orangefield kids have always been real tough, but talent was hardly ever on their side.  There were a few years back when they had a run of athletes at the same time when they had Jeff Granger with Toby Shultz and when Bradley Dale and Ronnie Peevey and even in the early 2000's with the Farias kid and Modica, but there were none of those with Coach Huck and he made the Bobcats competitive....he should NEVER have been in a position to beat WO-S or Silsbee or Jasper...but he had a chance to beat WO-S and Silsbee and he beat a very talented Jasper team two years in a row.  But the thing that will most be missed by the kids in Orangefield will be the opportunity to learn the game of LIFE.  He taught them how to win in life and that takes DISCIPLINE, WORK ETHIC and a COMMITMENT to being the BEST you can be.  The kids in Orangefield will be the ones that will suffer when he leaves...There are some good candidates out there but they will have a very difficult time replaceing Coach Huck.  My personal opinion is that he just got tired of fighting the obstacles of a mediocre mind set that has always been a problem in Orangefield...it is the parents of a few that will affect so many.  It is a sad day in the "Field". :-[
  7. I have no clue who you guys are but as a high school coach for MANY years, but as for a "universal" weight training is concerned at a school at the A - AAA level where you MUST have all your athletes for all sports it is near impossible to have a specific weight training for separate sports.  The squats, power clean and incline(to build shoulder strength) should be the core lifts of any sport.  If you think that high school basketball and baseball coaches are going to "push" their players in the weight room, I got some beach front property in Arizona.  I heard WOS track coach tell a guy that he never took his kids out of the weights in off season until after Regional meet and then it was only one say he took them out per week...3 consecutive state champions...if you want to WIN at HF in football soon you need to try and get a coach like Brian Huckaby at Orangefield..don't know if he would leave there but he is a great coach
