1. So when is BISD supposed to be naming their guy. Any word on who the finalist are or if they're interviewing yet?
2. Thanks my man. I like Flanigan for the job. He coached my little brother at crosby, always said he was a hard worker and good dude, and hes had success at a few spots already. West Brook hasn't been ideal, but I dont know if i'd blame him for that.
3. I just hopped on google and found a list of every 5A-3A head coach in the state from 2011. Now lets all agree they probably pay more now than 6 years ago. The lowest paid head coach in GCCISD in 2011 made 88,900. the highest was at 94k. So even 6 years ago it was a considerable raise from BISD. Now Who is getting the current job thats open, any word on a front runner or who even applied. Why is it so hard to get info.
4. Man thats what I was saying this job is like a CIA blacksite or Zero Dark Thirty. Surely they mean Flanigan when they say Beaumont coach huh? I never even thought of Coach Haynes, I figured either it would be Flanigan or Toby. Sure would be nice to know for sure.........
5. Aw well thats no fun, come on we wont tell noooooooobody
6. Which Beaumont Coach? Not Toby huh? I figured after Woodville he'd be taking it easy with applying for awhile.
7. I agree, I hear the coaches still there have been strong at the middle schools and keeping the culture upbeat. I was mainly wanting to see who all applied, but I cant find a list anywhere. It's like the job information has been blacklisted.
8. Man this may be the job to go get. You've had some kind of "situation" that led to a Head Coach being reassigned, and now they have already interviewed and I cant find any info on it. They pay good, and apparently no one will be all up in your crawl because no one is even talking about it.
9. And go slide into a school in McKinney, they are hurting for funds in the classroom, the campuses are immaculate, every kid and teacher has access to iPads and in class technology. Trust me they arent taking school funds to build a stadium, the people are offering as a community to use their own money to raise the funds for a Complex. They just put more of an emphasis on every thing that has to do with education in the Dallas Fort worth area. With the exception of Barbers Hill and Goose Creek, not one school in SETX can even come close to compete with starting base teacher pay, coaching pay, etc. etc. etc. They spend the money to attract professionals who will help their students achieve, and make them not want to leave because they are in a professional environment that compensates them for the work they do.
10. Yeah but that money is from a bond voted on by the people in the community. They elected to raise their taxes for the specific purpose of paying for the stadium in their community. Not one dime of state funded money will go to that stadium or be taken from academic money. The citizens are electing to privately raise the funds within their community.
11. No way man. I wish it was in Dallas every year. It's just better there. It's the best football venue out there, it runs off smoother has more attendance a better atmosphere etc etc etc
12. Only watched Jack Dallas on TV i think hes just so fun and has the name
13. I will say this I watched him in the Silsbee scrimmage against Central, who had better athletes and he balled out. I also went and watched him live at the Silsbee Jasper game when he went absolutely nuts. I lean towards Jack Dallas because of the hype and the name and the ring but the more I think about the video game numbers it's hard to say no. Plus Jasper had some DUDES on D and couldn't even touch him and Central had some DUDES on D that couldnt touch him.
14. All the QB talk is really neck and neck either kid is deserving, I gotta go with JACK DALLAS. On defense though there is no doubt Innis Gaines is the BEST defensive player in SETX. Played free safety led the only 6A district in Tackles, TFL, INT's, and Def TDs. According to the article he had 130+ Tackles and 56 TFL as a Free Safety and ball hawked the passing game. He dominated every inch of the field, from -3 in the backfield to 50 yards downfield he stopped everything offenses tried to do. Props to the West Orange LB but the Gaines kid is unreal, cant wait to watch him next season on saturdays. Personally never saw West orange kid except the state championship, his team Defense stood out but he didnt individually. Gaines jumped out of the 3 games I went to and his stats are godly.
15. There was a defensive standout. Innis Gaines Safety at West Brook. Led a Stout defense in tackles had like 5-6 picks took 3 of them to the house (one against state champion North Shore) blocked two kicks and a punt block. Took a missed FG 100+ yds against Ozen and led the team in tackles. Had 23 Tackles 4 TFL 4 PBUs 1 INT 1 FF against PA, dominated the game against Deer Park with like 18 Tackles also according to the teams website. And the 6 A Defensive MVP in a district with North Shore who won state by shutting out every one with Defense in the playoffs and had 2 kids committed to LSU on the squad. Those coaches who coached the LSU commits still voted to make Gaines the Defensive MVP. I'd say that stands out way more than Tony Brown was. Brown had games without even making tackles or breaking up passes playing 5A ball, and was Tony Brown even Defensive MVP in that district b/c I think it was the DL kid from Nederland that year. Not to mention Rose WR kid at PNG balled on Tony his Senior Year. The Gaines kid balled out and dominated every game played in a tough ass 6A district.
16. Once again you HEARD, I was on the team and it's a bald faced lie, discipline was the 1st and last thing coach Haynes preached everyday. You don't turn around every losing program you take over by throwing discipline out the window. A team doesn't go from 1-9 2 years in a row and magically start going to the playoffs and winning games because they are undisciplined and allowed to run wild you idiot.
17. I'm not saying one thing about Crosby being good, and I live in Houston now so yokel doesn't really fit. I'm claiming that my life was on a bad path and I stayed in a lot of trouble and a great man taught me to have self discipline and that the only true measure of a man is the type of father he becomes. That really opened my eyes up and I love coach Haynes for teaching me more than just football and I never started a game but he still took the time to make me act right and teach me right from wrong. I'm not bashing Hull, I'm bashing the idiot from Hull that doesn't know what he is talking about, and attacking a mans professional integrity without any basis or reason other than he had nothing else better to do. HD you can try to buddy up with a fellow bobcat but you are missing the point. It's not about your hometown, it's about right and wrong and making up lies based on a rumor you heard at work is wrong.
18. No he is not stating his opinion, he is spreading hear say of what some random co worker told him and attacking a coach who is 100% about integrity and discipline. Maybe I'm getting carried away, but I love Coach Haynes and he taught me the type of discipline that i still carry with me today. So gets me hot when some yokel from Hull heard some one from work say something so he decides to talk crap about Coach for a solid year every time his name comes up on this site. I shouldn't even stoop to the level of lashing out on a message board, but grow up pal. Coaches make a real difference in communities and lives, but you bash a mans character because it makes you feel tough on a message board. Yeah scatright you are a real authority on discipline.
19. Yeah, its like saying with all due respect and then ripping some one. You are attacking a mans profession and you have been for along time. You are saying hey good luck to Lumberton but you can expect discipline to fall off because of their new coach and his lack off integrity to teach his players discipline because some guy you work with said so. It's ridiculous that you think that is justification. You are attacking his professional integrity just because you have a user name on a message board.
20. Hold on Scatright, I wanna know how exactly Haynes program at crosby fell apart due to discipline problems when they went 8-4 his last year there. You get on here and run your mouth about a man who ran the program I played in with discipline and taught life lessons to his players, then when someone calls you out for your rumors and hearsay that you pass off as gospel you don't have much to say.
21. Once again I played on the 2 teams in Crosby my Jr. and Sr. years. My freshman and sophmore year we were 1-9 both seasons on varsity. Then Haynes came in we went 6-4 then 8-4 the second year. Then He took a 5 A job. So at what point did that crumble due to discipline? things were trending up when Haynes left and then the next year after he was gone 4-6 back to a losing record. Once again these are the facts not rumor and speculation.
22.

I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. I certainly didn't mean for this to turn into a discussion about whether or not I was a good football player!  I probably couldn't even remember how to pad a pair of pants these days, so that is a moot point.  I have had many conversations with Coach Haynes.  He is a good man, and a good offensive coach.  He lacks a lot on the defensive side of the ball, and I think even he would admit that.  I have seen his Hardin program crumble due to discipline issues.  I work with a guy who played for him at Crosby and told me the same thing happened there due to discipline issues.  That is why I have formed the opinion I have. You don't have to agree with it, but I feel it is justified.  I wish him luck.  I really do.  I just kinda think a 4A program, with recent success, in a great town could've done a little better.  That's all.  I hope Ltown proves me wrong. 23.
I don't think there is a big difference between the kind of football played at the 2A level, and the 4A football played at Lumberton. The problem is that the 4A football played at Vidor, Ned, PNG etc. is much different than 2A football. Haynes was probably a mistake, but we will see. Maybe he will surprise me. Look for Lumbertons discipline within their program to plummet. If they can overcome that and the fact that they will play NO defense, they might be ok.
I dont usually post on here, but I played for Larry Haynes and have defended him on here once before when people claimed his program was ran without discipline. The man has taken every job he's ever had at schools that have never won ever and makes them into winners, how is this possible without discipline. He preached to us about responsibility and the importance of being a man and a father and forever changed my life because i never had any one teach me that before coach. Take it from someone who played for Coach Haynes, and not an idiot from HULL who gets his info from hear say, Coach Haynes believes in discipline and preaches it. I hate morons who try to attack a mans character and integrity for no reason. Get a life scat right and try to get outta the sink hole
