[/quote] No one is disputing what a good or bad shot is....YOUR opinion is that Johnson takes bad shots...The coach, obviously thinks otherwise, and the team went 39-2...At some point you just have to concede your argument here.

I was having a conversation about Cotton Robinson in Austin with some older coaches last week...Do you guys honestly think that it would have been the same had he had to compete with the PVIL contingent back in those days? Wheatley was CLEARLY dominant back then, but they played for different titles....Seriously, what do you guys think?

If you ask 100 Houstonians, who is better out of Bird and Magic, 75-85% say Ervin Johnson due to body of work among other factors.....ask 100 people in SE Texas that same question, and the majority will say Bird...I would bet the farm on that fact, and MOST couldn't even tell you why..... ::) You tell me.... ;)...I think AAW hit the nail on the head on that one... ;)....Its ok...I understand.

39-2.....district co-champs....6th straight regional tournament...Give the ball to Bosha, and they win state? You think THAT was the answer? No it is not.... No its NOT wise to shoot being triple teamed, but I am CERTAIN, knowing Coach Sutherland, he agrees with that statement as well...It is safe to assume that he knows what he is doing. I just disagree with your approach to this situation...It comes from a very selfish place, and if you feel your nephew would be better served playing in Beaumont, by all means, but I doubt thats a smart move...and I have no dog in this race, I am just being practical.

For someone who has played on the college level, you should have a better understanding of this...Every player has a role to play...Whatever Coach Sutherland says or dictates that role, your nephew had better step into it, or someone else will...Thats how good programs operate...Would you have been happier if your nephew averaged 30, made 1st team all state, and the team finished 15-17, and not make the playoffs? Thats what it sounds like to me....

Wow...Thats all I will say about that Mr. Bosha...Its just a shame that individual accolades are more important to some than teaching kids what is REALLY important...I hope that YOU aren't the one counseling this kid, Mr. Bosha, because it is obvious that you have a warped sense of reality when it comes to your nephew. The reality is, (and I have seen them play) your nephew is a pretty good player, that plays in a really good program...If he was supposed to be all state or all region, he would have been....Its that simple.  No one "slighted" him, or intentionally left him off of the all region team...Honestly, colege coaches could care less about those types of accolades when it comes to recruiting, so get that out of your mind...Just relax, and allow him to enjoy his HS years without the pressure from family members to obtain accolades that he has no control over anyway...He will be fine.

cbosha, you cannot be serious....that kid is a 10th grader right? If he is THAT hurt, talk to him about what playing in a PROGRAM is all about...TEAM...ask him would he rather have made all region and missed the regional tourney, or leave things as they are and work his tail off to get better for next season....Come on, man..What are we teaching our young people? ::) ::) SMH
