If the kids can execute the adjustments, I see them winning. It will be tough, but Angleton has the ability to do it.
It's RO-ARK. ;) LOL And yes it's pretty well known (at least by angleton fans) that the Wildcats are a big "second half" team this year.
I've seen both teams, and Dawson is bigger than Angleton.
Alief Elsik (5a) has more than a few players on their line that are 6'4 and taller that weigh in @ 310-335 lbs some of which  were playing on both sides of the ball, and they couldn't keep up with, nor effectively stop our guys. Heck, by half time they were huffing and puffing and couldn't hardly catch their breath. They lost to the cats by 30 points, (44-14) and that was only the fourth game of the season back when our guys were more un-familiar with their positions. It will be a good game this week for sure tho! ;D
I had a ball watching you guys play offense, you'll be a tough out for anyone. You guys have it together. Good Luck, that Dawson bunch is pretty good.

Their coach is excellent, has a great mix with his offense, runs a lot of old school stuff. Things are really bright for their program. Good luck La Porte! :)
You're smokin. Manvel stopped LM inside the 10 three times and scored on a busted coverage in a 29-14 home win. On a neutral field in the playoffs and with everything on the line, It'll be a nail biter.
Manvel dropped a TD in the endzone too!
Look no doubt Manvel is very impressive, but LM tends to play better in the playoffs so we'll see. LM's coach was worried about showin too much last week and basically ran only a few plays. I bet he throws the ball more than 4 times next week.
Gonna have to... But the pass rush will be there!
No doubt! Manvel sacked LM six times last game. Forced to throw away or run at least six other times. If LM's plan is to throw a lot, I'm sure the LM QB is already having nightmares!
No time for nightmares, LM is playing with "house money" anyways, Manvel is the juggernaut that just made a Dayton team quit, intimidated Yates, & as Kirk Martin put it "got after LM's tails" the 1st game. So LM will be loose, if LM loses, hey they weren't supposed to beat BIG BAD Manvel anyway. But if Manvel falls behind the pressure is going to be tremendous! At any rate, it's going to be a good game.

I would like to go on record as never seeing the Dawson Team play or any of their players... but I have seen Angleton and i am going to say with that said.... Angleton 49 Dawson 23...
I've seen both teams, and Dawson is bigger than Angleton. Angleton has a very good offensive scheme though & seems to know who they are on offense. Dawson, as good as they are, are still figuring out. Just hope this isn't the game that they do. Dawson 37 Angleton 34

Do you guys see what is going on in professional sports? These kids feed off of that. Not many role models anymore.  Society has changed and not for the good. It is slowly getting out of control. The worse is yet to come, prepare yourself is all I can say. Parents don't stay married, many kids have single parents. It is a struggle every day and I don't see it getting any better, I hope I am wrong.
BINGO!

They key is that QB draw & the big pass plays, If LM limits those they'll be fine.
Last year,(or maybe the year before) in girls basketball an Ozen player punched a Central player after the game as they were shaking hands.  That girls was led off the court in handcuffs by police.  I believe the girl throwing the punch was suspended for the remainder of the season.  Just because this was a larger scale event doesn't mean it's too big to hand out punishments where they are due. Questions for you lawyers.....If your son was a 15 year old sophomore and he was in this brawl with two 19 year old seniors...could you file criminal assault charges?  I'm sure there is video of the event. Hypothetical situation above, but just trying to get a feel for is there a line where the sport stops and the law steps in.
YOU MEAN A HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER PUNCHED ANOTHER PLAYER AND LA MARQUE WASN'T INVOLVED? Surely you jest! Maybe that's just how they "shake hands" after a game in Beaumont?

 12.
The LaMarque players who came off of the bench during the first fight should have all been ejected.  At any other level, players who come from the bench to fight are immediately ejected.  If that left LaMarque with not enough players to play the game, they would have to forfeit. The officials are to blame for letting the game get out of hand.  But, the parents of the LaMarque players and their coaches are also to blame.  They have a reputation for being a dirty team for a REASON.  They are the kind of team schools need to refuse to play if they are concerned about safety.  If nothing is done by the UIL, I'd like to see other schools boycott playing LaMarque.  A message needs to be sent that this type of behavior will not be condoned.
Good luck with that. It takes two to fight.  ADMIN NOTE: PORTION OF POST DELETED. VIDOR'S 'REPUTATION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LA MARQUE OR OZEN'S ACTIONS.
 13.
Manvel takes care of LaMarque this weekend.  Then LaMarque can decide to suspend their players.
Maybe or Maybe not. That is why they play the games.

We will always get hatred from a lot    of people no matter what we do. So we'll just keep winning
My only experience with LaMarque before this incident occurring last saturday was when Lumberton played them a couple years back in the playoffs. Their team had a bad attitude back then as well although no fights started. Before the game, their players were acting arrogant and actually taunting the fans on our side. After the game and they lost, many of their players and several of their coaches (where the attitude really comes from) refused to shake hands with our players and coaches, opting instead to storm off the field into the field house. I've heard that this bad attitude is the norm and if this is the case, maybe the school district needs to try again in hiring a new head coach.
The coach who was with LM for that game is long gone. Has been for YEARS! WOW, Is Lumberton STILL  celebrating. Its been what 5 years?
And the head coach may have been fired but has every single coach that "refused to shake hands" with the Lumberton players been fired? I don't think so and even if you do fire all the coaches from the team and start completely over it still takes more than that to install a new attitude into that school. Its not just football. Its the school. We can all see that from the declining enrollment numbers.
I find it hilarious that someone from Vidor is attacking someone else's reputation. Dude La Marque's town is like a lot of towns across the country, that is feeling the pain of the economic downturn. It's proximity to chemical plants also doesn't help it in terms of construction of new homes. It has nothing to do with the town's football team. Both teams acted like jerks & BISD has had its own problems of late [Hidden Content]; so check yourself. But your problem with LM is really obvious.
If you actually read some stuff on here you would see that i wrote earlier that i had no problem with La Marque. I was actually a fan of them because they were a school with low numbers that was still competing with the best in the state and winning some but that was until this happened i heard about the Lumberton thing and i actually realized why your numbers were declining. And if a power plant is to blame for the reason your numbers are declining then what about PNG and Nederland. I'm pretty sure that when i was driving towards the PNG game this year that i passed a few plants. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. And we all know PA has some plants and yet they are 5A.
Maybe those places have not been hit as hard economically as La marque's town. Hurricane Ike was devastating, when combined with the economic downturn the town is hurting. BP is currently selling its plant & more jobs will be lost (or moved). Trust those decisions are not made over some teenage jerks pushing & shoving after a football game. Its about money. Unless new industry moves to the area, there will be no new construction and less jobs. Which means less students.
