1. I agree! We didn’t have cell phones and all that weak sauce “Twitter-chat-insta-book” stuff back then. Our pranks required lots of planning, creativity, stealth, and were executed with military style precision….good times! 😛
2. I got no clue either…lol! I guess that’s supposed to be an insult saying PNG people are “snooty” and the kids are spoiled? Like they AREN’T?? smh 🤔🤣
3. I was out shopping and heard some Bulldogs in a panic saying…”Grab all the baby powder, flares, water hoses, a iPad to Google Indian rain dance, PRAY for another MONSOON and for the love of God, CALL UNCLE LARRY cause the TRIBE is COMING and we need ALL the HELP we can get!” 🤣🤗🤣
4. Yeah, I think all that lady did by stopping it was create unfinished business so if she thought THAT was bad, just wait til FRIDAY NIGHT…MCM Band Wars gonna be LIT, figuratively speaking of course or maybe not 😜
5. Didn’t go this year but from watching the live feed and what I heard from PNG Band parents…both Drumlines and students were chanting stuff back n forth at the end and a lady who I suppose works for NISD got on the mic, said “This is supposed to be a camaraderie NOT a BATTLE” and shut it down! Everyone was pretty confused cause for one it’s actually called MCM Drumline BATTLE and other than a bigger crowd and students being a little more rowdy…it was pretty much the same as last year and kids seemed to just be having fun …idk! I thought it looked pretty tame compared to the stuff we did back in the day….lol!
6. A big problem with moving it is PNG Band gets the profits from visitor side concessions and pretty much the only time they actually make a substantial profit is when MCM is at home and possibly PA Memorial IF we play them preseason cause the Houston area schools MIGHT bring 300 fans COMBINED…..it’s SAD!
7. Agreed…same at the Rez. We might luck out and have a full visitors side TWICE if we play PA Memorial pre-season and MCM Both were away this year so visitor side didn’t see much action…lol! I sure miss the crowds when we played our local schools.
8. Well, the original plan included a new and bigger visitor side but ended up just refurbishing the exiting ones because unfortunately Hurricane Ike hit during the process and caused some damage, plus cost of materials went up so $ had to be used for repairs. Hate it didn’t work out but at least PNGISD cared enough to include building bigger visitor bleachers in the original plan….what about NISD?? 😝 But I am glad ya’ll cared about our bodily functions enough to build bigger restrooms 🤪
9. Yeah, cause it IS 😝! No need to get into a “measuring” contest cause ours is small too…lol! I think that post was more of a PSA to let our fans know they gonna have to rough it so leave the big bags and “lazy boy” stadium seats at home!! 😂
10. Yep, very accurate description…lol! People gonna have their legs all up on your back so no need to bring stadium seats 🥴
11. Any thoughts on taking the Winnie to 87 through Galveston route?
12. I can say starting with Faircloth, hiring a HC from outside the 409 has worked out quite well for PNG. The “good ole boy” thing tried to creep in again after Faircloth resigned but the decision to pay an outside consultant (Todd Dodge) to select the BEST candidate was $$ WELL spent! I’ve heard many districts are going that direction to minimize or eliminate “good ole boy” bias from the School Board.
13. I may or may not have heard them saying PURPLE instead of Tiger 🤷‍♀️😎🤷‍♀️🤪
14. I would like to thank David Thompson and staff from the Beaumont Enterprise for allowing all us "old schoolers" the chance to share our stories and memories from the rivalry years between PNG, TJ, and Lincoln! No, to the kids at PAM and PNG...this isn't a rivalry...yet, but the history between the MC and PA schools runs deep and we are all looking forward to the game...it's game 1 of the new chapter that we hope will be filled with many stories of the epic battles between the Titans, Indians, and Bulldogs for years to come that all the kids will be proud to share with their children, grand children and great-grandchildren!! Even though this game isn't a "rivalry" so to speak...it sure brought back some cherished memories from days gone by as my husband and I walked around at Memorial Stadium today when we met with David to get some pics for the article! That's where OUR story together began in 1989 when a young PNG Indian girl first met a handsome Fighting Yellowjacket from Thomas Jeffeerson HS after his football game!! As I watched my now, Purple and White wearing, Cherokee singing, husband swell with pride as he talked about the school and city where he grew up...it proved you may take the boy out of PA, but you'll never take that PA Yellow Jacket pride out of the boy! Good luck and prayers to both teams for a great, injury free game!! Oh, and Scalp 'em INDIANS!
15. I am most likely one of the "Moms" being referred to and the intended purpose of the article from what I understand is simply to hear stories from PNG and Memorial fans who are friends, co-workers, relatives...etc about their feelings on the game and how they've been interacting with each other this week, like if there's been any "smack talk", pranks, friendly wagers...etc! That's IT...actually the reporter didn't bring up anything about the "past" , but it did come up in conversation so I am confident there will be some mention of the past history between PNG, TJ, and Lincoln...nothing wrong with that! But, I feel, along with many others that the main focus should be on the HERE and NOW, the PNG/PAM Showdown...INDIAN vs TITANS Ep 1, and not be overshadowed by all us "old schoolers" relishing the past! I work with a lot of people from PA, a couple of them have sons that play on the team, and they are all really excited to have the MC schools vs PA "rivalry" back and we've enjoyed bantering back and forth this week! One of the PA "Moms" said the kids are loving all the attention and publicity this game has brought to their school and community cause they've all grown up around MCM/ PNG vs Ned/Bum Phillips Bowl and all the local and statewide attention it gets, and now they get their chance to be a part of SETX HS football history and create their OWN story they will tell their kids, grandkids, great-grandkids! I just hope it goes something like this after Fri night...."I was in HS the first time PNG played PAM and boy was it EXCITING, our Titans fought hard, but those Indians gave us a scalpin'!" Haha! I will leave you with this...my husband and I travel quite often, and have been all over the U.S...football usually always comes up in convo at some point cause we LOVE IT, and anytime we are asked where we're from, I usually say Port Neches TX...and I almost always get the "I got no idea where that is" look, but he quickly follows with, Pt Arthur TX (TJ '92 grad) and the reaction is pretty much always...depending on their age of course...oh yeah, that's where Jamaal Charles/Jimmy Johnson/Babineaux bros/Kevin Everett/Danny Gorer...etc is from!! MCM may hold the title of biggest HS football rivalry in TX, but that just doesn't hold a candle to the 8 golden footballs recently given to PAISD for each alumni that has played/coached in the Super Bowl....most in the NATION! Now, THAT'S what I call HISTORY and TRADITION! Heck, most outsiders think Wade Phillips is from PA too...lol! All that, to say...you are the MIGHTY PAM TITANS and we are INDIAN NATION...the first chapter of the story will be written Friday Night!!
16. Not at all...I should be finishing up at work around 245-3 and will give you a call then!
17. I'm a born and raised Indian fan and work with a young lady at St Mary's hospital whose son plays for PAM...it's been fun smack talking with her this week...lol! Would be happy to chat with ya!
18. WTG lions from this PNG Indian!  We're spending the weekend with family in Lovelady!  My hubby's Dad graduated from there!  We've been listening on the radio!  Great job, hope you guys make it all the way!
19. I talked with his Dad before the Dayton game and he said so far Lamar and SE Louisiana have offered scholarships I believe but of course he's waiting for more.  It would be a shame if a big 12 or SEC school doesn't snatch him up!
20.
No excuses at all....Ozen's QB killed us with our porous secondary!  However, we had the chances and just couldn't capitalize!
Fair enough!  Better luck next year Barbies Hill!  ;)
21.
Just talked to Faircloth. He said that Dayton agreed to play at The Butch without a flip as long as they played Saturday. He joked that if they agree to play there without a flip he would play them any night of the week lol. Good luck to all area teams. I'll be on the Vidor sideline at LU tonight.
Yeah, that's pretty much what he said at the BC meeting, then he said he also offered them the home side as a bonus!  I know the Indian fans are more than happy to sit on the visitors side!  Afterall, this will be the fifth time so it's kinda like home, well, there's no place like the Reservation, but we've def gotten comfortable there...lol!
22. I know Coach Faircloth gave Daytons coach the option of being the home team if he agreed to play at The Butch!  I'm sure that is probably what Coach Newman did as well.  Plus, we're undefeated at The Butch as Visitor, so needless to say he was MORE than happy to offer Dayton the home side.. ;D!  Good luck to the DOGS!  Go get 'em!!
