  1. Taylor will get to play with the guy that marked him in the play-offs, Chase Michalak from Brenham. 8)
  2. Best of luck, Rob! You will be a tough act to follow. I've always enjoyed playing your teams because they played with class and always put forth a great effort. We'll miss you at the Select Showcase, but I have an opening in the 5A bracket of the Diadora Cup , just saying........
  3. He played 45 minutes and lost his mark on a cross and the player scored the opener for America with a header. Drew a couple of fouls. I don't know if I'd call that well but it wasn't a disaster......
  4. Brenham has openings in the 3A (2), 4A (1) and 5A (5) brackets of the Diadora Cup, Jan 14-16, 2010. There is also room in the Select 4A Showcase, Jan 21-23, 2010. Contact Erik Lane at 979.277.4125 or [email protected]. Go to www.cubsoccer.com for more info
  5. Dempsey is a foreigner. He's from Nacogdoches....... ;D
  6. Speaking of Vidor, I just had two kids in my group at A&M from Vidor. They will be freshmen. Shay Singleton and Tyler Mackey.
  7. They will get Antonio Valencia from Wigan to play the left side for about 16m pounds (I think Ribery from Bayern will cost more than they want to spend) and they will either try to keep Tevez (which will be tough ) or maybe pick-up Benzema from Lyon . I don't know if Valencia will give up David Villa for a fair price if United even want him. :-\
  8. Matt; I assume you are now coming to the Select 4A Showcase with Vidor instead of LCM?
  9. Hats off to a very good Lumberton team. The wind and the turf combined to make it difficult for both teams and for the first time that I can remember since coming to Brenham, we had a team that was a match for us physically, athletically and size wise. Best of luck in the future!
  10. Uh oh, you don't know Grapevine. It is not necessarily wise to stand on the side of the Grapevine. If you only knew him, you would understand. hehehehehehehehehehehe
  11. Sorry Pirates, but Willis is going to pick up the 'W'.
  12. Lumberton is very athletic. The Cubbies will have to be at their best to be able to hang with the Red Raiders. From Scott Poole and Taylor Granato up front to Wes Brackin, Caleb Schexnider and Mark Murrill in the back, the train is one tough cookie. Plus, the Cubbies have two starters including a captain that have been out for weeks and are doubtful for tonight! It's going to be a barnburner!
  13. I guess i will pick an identical team for your league. Then I just have to keep my logins and password straight.....
  14. Bon Mot - how do you enter your team in multiple leagues? Or do I have to pick another team to put in your league? BTW - good luck Tuesday. I have Tomball and Charles Street and Turner lined up if we both win.
  15. Take 90 or I-10 to Beltway 8, go north, turn right on Wilson Rd (before 59) and stadium is behind Humble HS (after you cross Will Clayton Rd) OR Take 105 to Cleveland, go south on 59, exit Will Clayton, turn left, go to Wilson Rd turn left and stadium is behind Humble HS
  16. a. Never said Nederland couldn't play soccer ??? b. Never said Nederland was a dirty team ??? Just said that speed v. physical is how it looks to me. The rest of the "soccer" components appear to be pretty even/similar between the teams. Heck, we've always been thought of as a physical team but WE play soccer.... : I don't care who we would get to play in the regional quarters, I am just hopinbg that we GET to play in the regional quarters. Good Luck to both teams! See ya'll on Tuesday!
  17. If Nederland is going to be successful, they will need to contain the sophomore Shipman twins in midfield. It will be speed (Lindale) versus physical play (Nederland). It is going to be a very good game.
  18. For directions to Brenham's Rankin Field, go to www.cubsoccer.com and click on maps to fields.
  19. See ya'll in Brenham. Last time ya'll were here in the play-offs, I believe ya'll beat Waco Midway in the regional semi's in 2001 setting up a match with Brenham in the regional final. If things go well on Monday for the Cubs, ya'll will again be playing for a chance to face Brenham. Coincidence? Destiny? We'll see!

  21. In 1999, Nederland lost in the state final to Granbury, 2-1 (?) In 2001, Nederland lost in the regional final to Brenham 2-0 and PNG lost in the regional semi-final to Brenham 2-0 In 2006, Nederland lost to Brenham 2-1 in OT in the regional quarters
  22. Bon Mot - After beating Nederland 2-0 in the 2001 regional final, Jorge is the same coach who said our goalkeeper, Zach Riffett (2002 Adidas national HS Player of the Year, 16 Caps US U-16's) wasn't that good....... : He obviously views things differently in a lot of ways.......
