4.
As an EC Nana, I was very excited to see the BUCS beat Newton the past 2 years.  The year that Newton lost their longtime Coach was such a heartbreaker to see the players so upset after the game.  I know they wanted to win it for him.  I have heard what a great coach he was & I would like to hear from some of you that play/played for him, coached with him or against him or just knew him as a person; what in your opinion made him a great coach.  I know to some people, it's all about winning, but as a mother & grandmother, even tho I love to win, I look for other characteristics from the coaches.  My prediction for this week's game is: the team with the least mistakes will win; both teams are talented offensively & defensively & they both want the win.
I think the preacher that spoke at Coach Barbay's memorial service really nailed how to describe Curtis Barbay. There are thre ways to live in life: Some people live to Survive. Living check to check and are perfectly happy. Some people live for Success. Trying to achieve goals, thru their jobs and at home. Some people live to Significance. Making positive  differences in peoples lives. This was Curtis Barbay. Curtis would go to churches and talk to the youth groups, especially the seniors. Talking about life and how to do your very best no matter what profession you choose to persue. As ChampionEagles said, he was very emotionally attached to each of the kids that came thru. Rest in Peace Coach Barbay.

 10.
what small school game should Buddy Garrity attend next week? ***serious question***
East Chambers @ Newton
 11. How do y'all think that Kirbyville's passing game will fair against Newton's secondary? Kirbyville has been averaging over 200 yards passing per game. Also could you consider this matchup a trap game with East Chambers coming up next week.
 12.
Since we have some of the s,best minds in High School Football on this board, maybe ya'll can enlighten me. If you stand no chance against an opponent.  You know going in that you are going to get spanked.  You start the game by letting the other team take the kickoff, and in 2 plays they have scored. Why not throw in some trick plays?  Throw the ball deep down the field and pray?  On-side kick on the opening kick-off?  Fake a punt?  Try something different? I don't understand why most coaches continue to try to run their regular offense and keep going 3 and out.  Our district seems stuck in this rut of insanity.  Doing the same thing over and over and expecting it to change.
I agree with you TROJANSWIN try something, anything. Warren was a good example. Newton came into the game picked to win by everyone but Warren never gave up, going for  it on almost every 4th down. I think they punted just a couple of times in the 51-0 loss.
 13. After Anahuac's performance against Kirbyville I will have to say Anahuac fairly easy. Anahuac 31 Hardin 13
 14. Warren is much improved but still not to East Chambers level. East Chambers 45 Warren 7
