I think they played Tuesady.Hardin won by around 20 I think.

Thomas had 27 for EC.Sims had 19 for Warren and Granger had 15.

Paul Sims from Warren,earlier this year was 9-11 against Deweyville and 10-11 against Anahuac.Since the second game he is something like 46-52 for the season.His worst night was 5-9 in the opener.

Sims has fewer attempts this year than last,when he hit 74'-3's as a sophomore,however his percentage is probably higher this year.He has hit 45 3's thru last friday.Quitely goes about playing his game ,but have seen him score 25 in a half several times.He is also a deadly free throw shooter.

Is Larry Rivon from Anahuac back playing?He took a nasty spill at Warren and looked like his shoulder may have been hurt bad.Anahuac isn't the same without him and Stevens.

How could you have an argument with Warren,they did not move up or down in the ratings.They were 7 last week and are still 7.WH is a good club but you cant pay much attention to rankings.Warren plays EC and Kountze this week on the road.They won't be favored in either game,should they drop in the rankings if they lose?You tell me.WH and Warren played a 2 point game so it would be hard to rank either club on that.Most of the clubs in this poll will lose some more games,its impossible to keep high school kids up for every game.Props to the Oilers and Warriors they are both having great years.

All the guys you mentioned are great coaches.Also can't overlook Clay Davis,he did a remarkable job at Jasper as the head man before going back to HJ as an assistant.Joubert did a great job at Hardin before he came to Kountze and Southerland is simply the MAN.Carter at Warren gets as much out of a team as anyone I've seen.Southeast Texas is blessed to have so many dedicated coaches.My candidate for the best however is retired from coaching,Fred Williams was simply amazing!!!!!!

The question was who goes the deepest in the playoffs.I think it is HJ.They will beat Silsbee at their place.HJ and WOS will be the war.No offense to the big guys but I dont see them making a deep run against the Houston schools.PAM is basically a 2 man show and that won't make for a long run in 5-a basketball.Ozen is the cream of the crop in 4-a but I'm not sure they have the offensive weapons to go deep.They have taken early exits ever since Perk graduated.

When their on their game-HJ is the best team in Southeast Texas,not sure how any of us stack up against the rest of the state.There are some good teams in all regions every year.

Some folks were leaving at halftime,but the atmosphere the last quarter was unbelievable.This was a total team effort with everyone contributing in the 4th.Sims hit a 4 point play and followed on the next possesion with a 3,Granger,Nash, Swinney and McBee really stepped up big on the defensive end.Rawls,Wright and Andrews also were clutch with rebounds and steals.Your right Pappa,this was a fun game to watch.Hardin played a whole lot better than when I saw them earlier in the year.Not sure why there girls club and fans left early in the 3rd,they could have used the support.

When Donahoe is healthy he is straight up the best overall recruit this year.In todays game it takes a lot of different things to play at the D1 level,the most overlooked is physical strength.This kid has all the tools.Hope "ROC"is watching.

I agree with that assesment.They have 2 solid post players,but are young in the backcourt.

I think Warren has the inside track,especially if Deweyvilles big kid is out.Warren has beaten Deweyville 2 out of 3 but lost the 1 that counted in the district opener.They have wins over Anahuac,Buna and Hardin but they have a brutal week coming up with EC and Kountze on the road.The 3rd spot is wide open.

Thats a breakdown of Warrens points.#33 for Hardin had 17,#12 had 13 for the Hornets.Warren had a terrible first half,but really shot it well in the 4th for the win scoring 32 in the last quarter.Great crowd tonite in Warren ,best I 've seen in several years.Great job guys,it would have been easy to folded tonite being down by 24 in the 3rd.Fun game to watch,gotta feel for the Hornets they played hard.

I agree double digit scoring means absolutely nothing picking a top 30, not sure who deserves to be there.There are no bad players on this list but it's impossible to pick the 30 best in southeast Texas.FYI not sure about Andrews but Sims is also in double digits in rebounds and assist,has hit over 40 3 pointers so far this season and is shooting almost 90% from the free throw line.May not be a top 30 but that ain't to shabby.Andrews is a very good rebounder and shooter and both are juniors.Both are very team oriented players and will get nothing but better.List looks good to me.

I hope you don't judge us on the HJ game,it was the worst we have played this year by far.HJ would have embarrased a lot of teams that night.Warren is playing at home so they should be favored.I'll say Warren by10.

DP#1,What happened to Bland?Hope he isn't hurt.There are some awful good coaches in 24aa.That might make for an interesting thread.Carter has over 500 wins and Joubert has won everywhere he's been.Hanks good but I don't know who would have the edge if they all had equal talent.Back to the prediction EC by 15 if Preston and McDonald are back.
