You failed to answer one important question. Who picks the team? And are they going to be at the games watching them since on night does not make a star. Newcomer of the Year is least important.. but I think MVP is more important and would be the easier choice. What one player is making a difference in their teams win and loss record. Offensive player and defensive is better awards. Defenders get little respect except from real soccer people. Now for newcomer of the year. Is that freshman .. are any players that havejust moved up to varsity. I would agree that something would be better but for now its as good as it gets..... and its in all the awards across all sports.

That was a very fast paced game. The St Louis team was extremely fast paced and so was the Kelly team. That was a good soccer game and most enjoyable. The defense for Kelly was amazing. Ben A was good in goal..... ashame he was a marking back... saved two goals going in not because Keeper was screwing up but saved perfectly placed ball by holding his position and job duties. Nathan Stockie the keeper was strong in goal tonight... and with all that said.... Matt horning the sweeper was my pick for tops tonight on the defensive end. Sorry alvi.. but great job by all involved. O yes there is one player named Matt Kirby that didnt do bad, matter of fact.. did darn good. Zack Clark had a good game... After that.. the rest of team stood their ground and held out a strong St Louis team. The game was played at a fast pace tonight and the players for kelly kept up with the pace. again all players entered the game for some playing time. Good ..... to be.... 2-0...... two good opponents. plus all done wthout Ben Hanks who took the night off.

Well again I will disagree with jcb... Just kidding... so kelly wins against barbe 3-2. First game out of the gate. What happened? Let me tell you what happened. Nineteen different players stepped on the field. Several players played more than one position... Captains showed their worth tonight leading not by mouth but by example. They all played nintey percent of the game and worked hard and did the rite things. Ben and John held the middle and Horning the defense, while Kirby took on their defense and launched balls in front of their goal for others to shoot. New stuff being asked of the whole group, and all of the players stepped up and did the rite things. Sophs of the team were strong and played great also. stats were 24 shots with 3 goals by Kelly and 5 shots with 2 goals by Barbe. One for Barbe was a set piece and the other a amazing strike from about twenty five yards out that went in rite under cross bar. A third would have made it in if Nathan Stockie hadnt made a great falling back tip to secure our win. First goal for Kelly was from Michael CB Verde, second two from Matt Kirby. Hill Verde played a few positions and underrated player of the night probably Brent Fiedler. A worker and the energy he brings to the field. Well there if I didnt mention you sorry but hey....a great night and start to the season. St Louis next

Well lets see who I want to jinx. I think I agree with bonmot on best coached Dynamos. But I voted NE Revs and bonmots twellman will score header after header during the playoffs. Worst looking team as of late in my opinion was KC and eddie johnson who was short of worthless. Lazy piece of........ it. Anyway thats all I have to say. I want dynamo again so picking Revs. GO TT

On Monday, U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati announced that Ryan's contract will not be renewed and that a replacement will be named within two months. Ryan had guided the U.S. women's national team to 49 wins in the 55 games that he was in charge. A penalty-kick defeat to Germany in 2006 that went into the record book as a tie and a 4-0 loss to Brazil in the 2007 Women's World Cup were the only losses the USA suffered while Ryan was in charge. But next year the U.S. women will aim to win gold at the Olympic Games. Were Ryan to stay in charge, the bitter taste of the failure at the last World Cup would have lingered. Scapegoating Hope Solo for her few words during the most disappointing moment of her career simply deflected the focus away from the more important lessons of the U.S. performance. easier scheduling and more games against quality opponents are to the level you want to put on your schedule. Not that there isnt quality locally but they are in your district so.. good deal

Not defending his hammering of the Vidor coaches in any way. But it is frustrating when year after year you try the same thing and never seem to clear that bench mark of playoffs........ my favorite saying... if you do what you have always done, you get what you have always got.... ;D ;D

I got to see the rest. Had another shot hit the post and knock away. Keeper looked like a rabbit surrounded by a pack of wolves, horrible. USA has become the knock it long and play soccer team from what they were in the past, which was a very disciplined knock it around type team. disgusting ... Sadly the scored doesnt even give a good show of how much the Brazilians dominated the US. Could have been much more. The red card or second yellow was one of the worst calls in world cup history for sure. However I do not believe it changed the outcome only secured it. USA was not developing anything to score. All the announcers kept talking about was " if you give the US women set pieces they will score so we need more set pieces blah blah blah.." sad that our ladies team is now a team that needs set pieces to finish off teams. DEVELOP some attack. well enouph said.

yea .. dont understand some of the scoring ways.. I like the captain gettind double points but nothing for game winners.. .. its alrite... like it better if i was winning but not this season...

Travis Freeman played on my club team his senior year with Nederland players. He went away to college in Kansas to play one season. He graduated 2004 I believe. The ones who graduated with him still playing colelge from nederland are Seniors so do the math.. I believe 04 is correct.

Things couldnt look better from the inside. I am glad I was wrong. Should be a enjoyable season. Hopefully we can win more than we lose but either way.. we want to win our last game of the year. Thats the goal.

I thought also it was a hand ball. I was saying you may be close minded and I am without a doubt close minded... on some of the players. That was why I said its good they have a coach that isnt like ME or you are anyone else. The whole purpose and reason I would say Davy got a look is his work ethic on the field. He works on the ball and away from the ball. He defends and when he loses the ball runs and fights to retrieve it while my buddy Eddie stands and blames the world on his losing the ball. Okay that was my close minded self but the coach is trying to find a combination that might work. Our US team hasnt been scoring or creating many goals so those players that have been given a chance with better statistics arent doing the job. Are good enouph job... But yes I am narrowminded when it comes to some players.

The great thing about being at that level is ... everyone gets to state an opinion against or for a player of his and all the players top level of play... I can say that after every game I see, I question some of his choices. But to say Davy doesnt deserve an opportunity makes no sense.. The good thing is that they put coaches in place, that are not as close minded, and looks at and for the BEST talent to develop our national team. Most likely he was just stating his anti Davy to get a rise out of folks... I am still more anti Eddie ... but the game should have ended 3 - 3... and it was a great fast paced game and I enjoyed seeing a local player step on the field, and realize how many have walked before him and never gotten this opportunity....
