  1. Don't make me do it, my crimson and white friend.
  2. Well, the "lack of acclimation" might be a lame excuse. But in 2020, that is a UIL mandated situation. From the UIL football page: 5A-6A DATES 5A-6A SCHOOLS THAT HAVE OFFERED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SINCE August 24 Date Event or Deadline September 7 First day of conditioning (No contact activities permitted. No contact equipment except helmets may be worn.) September 17-19 1st Scrimmage September 24-26 Week One *Schools will have 11 weeks to play 10 games **The above is only for schools who were not shut-down through September 7 5A-6A SCHOOLS WHO HAVE NOT OFFERERED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SINCE AUGUST 24 Date Event or Deadline September 7 Strength and Conditioning and Sport Specific activities only, no pads or helmets allowed September 14 Begin Acclimatization Period September 24-26 1st Scrimmage October 1-3 Week One *Schools will have one less scrimmage in this scenario I don't know if either West Brook or United meet the 2nd criteria, but evidently Dr. Jackson and Dr. Allen believe they do. And if it is a dark line, they are going to err on the side of caution and choose the later, whether all of us like it or not.
  3. 2015. They lost 48-6 to the eventual Class 4A, Division II State Champs in Week 5.
  4. Nope. If Carthage/LC-M was back on, Gary Stelly wouldn't be planning on going to Livingston to do the Orangefield game.
  5. This is what Kirbyville HIgh School released a few hours ago:
  6. Don't need to. I just confirmed that Kirbyville canceled due to exposure to COVID and the need to quarantine.
  7. Was just reading on twitter that Newton was looking for a new opponent. Does anything know what happened with the KIrbyville game?
  8. LC-M canceled that game last week.
  9. I don't think that will happen. Let's take a look at the open teams. West Brook - currently has a 10 game schedule, so they wouldn't be able to play College Station - see West Brook Baytown Goose Creek Memorial, Baytown Lee, Baytown Sterling, Beaumont United, Friendswood, Galveston Ball, La Porte, Port Arthur Memorial - All of this district is holding that date open for a reason. It is to have a make up date for any games that might be postponed due to the covid scare. Look, I want the Mustangs to hit the field just as much as anyone, with the exception of the Mustang coaches and players. It has left me on the verge of being physically ill that I have had to put "ccl" by their first three games. However, left's leave their schedule in the real world.
  10. Um, Matt Stepp himself has indicated that was the case.
  11. I had heard last week that there was a front runner being Huffman, whose game this week with Bridge City was also cancelled. But I have heard nothing from either Coach Barbay or Coach McEachern on that. Hopefully, something will pop sometime today.
  12. Well, I think the issue is that the rankings were done on the assumption that the 20-14 was a win for Jasper rather than a no contest. We'll see next week if that is revised.
