From kogt.com "Garey Peveto, an Orangefield native and son of former Orangefield coach Ed Peveto, suffered a heart attack Saturday while driving home from the State Track Meet in Austin. Peveto, the New Waverly High School track coach, was driving on I-45 when he ran off the road and into some heavy brush. He was transported to a Conroe hospital and emergency personnel couldn't revive him. Peveto was a track star himself, winning the 3A shot put in 1983. His father was the head football coach at Coldspring when he died in 1992." Our prayers are with the entire Peveto family.

I just saw the results of the West Orange-Cove CISD board elections and the candidate with the most votes is our own td who will be taking his place on the board, along with incumbent Andrew Hayes to fill the two seats up for election. Yes, folks! Mary Hardin has been ousted....the cleansing has begun! Mr. Dallas, my heartiest of congratulations! Also, the bond issue did pass.
