Allowed 6 points all year. Won their State Championship back then.
Actually won a Regional Championship as Class B schools did not play state championship in those days. But I get what you are saying they won their ultimate game that year. Some stats for the 1987 West Orange-Stark Team: 4A State Champions 15-0 record Ranked No. 15 in Nation by USA Today Ranked No. 9 in Nation by Scholastic Sports America (ESPN) Scoring average: 28.1 points/game Points allowed: 5.2 points/game Most points given up in a game: 14 (LC-M) Games in which only one score was allowed: 13 Games in which team scored 30 or more points: 8 Shutouts: 5 Notable wins: Aldine MacArthur (Ranked.
Grad you sure it wasn't Aldine High and not MacArthur?
Nope, it was MacArthur. The Aldine High run began a couple of years later.
Teams that come to mind 76 Hebert (Undefeated State Champs) 82 Brook bruins (State Champs)\ 75 P.N.G (State Champs) 84 French (Co-State Champs) 57 Nederland (Underfeated State Champs) 66 Bridge City (State Champs) 87 W.O.S (Undefeated State Champs - Also ranked #1 in the Nation) 98 Newton (State Champs) Any others??
Although they were nationally ranked that year, it wasn't No. 1. They ended up ranked No. 15 by USA Today and No. 9 by ESPN's Scholastic Sports America. One of the Mustang's victims was another nationally ranked team (at the time they played anyway) in Aldine MacArthur who if I remember correctly was ranked No. 6 in the nation and No.1 in Texas in 5A.

Because it is Jurgen Klinsmann. He was a star of the German National team and won a World Cup championship as a player with the West German team in 1990. He coached the German team to a 3rd place finish in the 2006 World Cup. In other words, HE IS GOOD! In fact, this marks the second time that USA Soccer has tried to hire him as coach. As for whether it is common, I'll yield to those here who know more about soccer. However, when someone who me who doesn't follow soccer recognizes it as a big hire, that should tell you something.
Several Open dates: August 26, Sept 2, Sept 13, Oct 7 and a tournament for Aug 18 & 20 Please contact if your team has any openings or know of a team that does. thanks
Ah, now I know why the Anahuac schedule hasn't been posted on its website. -
Well, I know that for some reason, Memorial has had problems filling out a 10 game schedule. Perhaps a trip to Alice 2 years in a row was the only way Memorial could fill their schedule.
-
Well, in talking with Lance, the info on the game came from the top, AD Boutte.
Did Legacy make the playoffs last year?
Yes, they did. -
Thanks, Lance. Yeah, the PA/Alice thing is weird as they played in Alice last year, but the schedule they gave me had the game in Alice this year, too.

For Coach Hobbs at Legacy, this is a heck of a pickup.
What was his recovery timeframe? didnt he have surgery just this past spring?
Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe his surgery was a little closer to the beginning of the year. As my understanding is that it is about a 6 month recovery period for those types of repairs, he is right about the point to where he would be released to continue full speed. But you still never know how that thing will react. -
Congrats, Zach!
IMO i think two of the best games that should be televised should be the PNG and Nederland game and the Central and Vidor game. Those are gonna be two of the biggest battles this year. Mark my words.
Well, remember these are games that cannot be broadcast live on Friday night per UIL rules (sort of a UIL version of NFL blackout rules), so for KFDM to broadcast them, BOTH coaches have to agree to move the date of the game. It is doubtful that Mid County Madness given that FOXsports has committed to do the "College Gameday" type show this year from there. Central/Vidor game is even more unlikely as not only would Coach Washington and Coach Mathews have to agree to the change, but Coach Rowe at Livingston and Coach Nelson at Ozen would have to agree to switch dates as both games are scheduled for the Thomas Center that weekend.
-
I figured as much when I saw the change about the BC/Vidor game. I was just hoping Lance will get on soon and give us the full slate if it is finalized.
-
I know that KFDM seemed pretty happy about the inaugural season of Saturday Night Lights and there was talk about doing it again this season. Is that a go? If so, has the slate of games been scheduled?

I have been informed of a schedule revision for Vidor's 2011 season, same venues, different dates. The Texas High game will be played on Sat. Aug. 27th The Bridge City game will be played Sat. Sept. 3rd The Ozen game will be played Sat. Oct. 8th.
What is the problem with the other dates?
I think the Texas High and Ozen games may have just been miscommunications as the Texas High site had the game on the 27th all along and the BISD site had the Ozen game on the 8th as well. Remember these are both games where Vidor is either on a neutral field or the away team so they are kind of at the wishes of the venues there. As for the Bridge City game, I suspect we may see that as one of the games on KFDM CW's Saturday Night Lights, Season II.
