1. Well, below is a screen shot of mod activity for the last few hours.  Aside from the editing of the thread, (the results of which can be seen in the thread itself) and banning of spammers (which despite Mike's plea seems to be a task left to him and me) I don't see any mod or admin activity. 2. I'm not a real big fan of members changing their own names, either.
 3. Although I wish I had thought of it, I wasn't me.
 4.
The UIL takes action on a daily basis.....and by their own admission this is the most minimal penalty available.  The bottom line is anyone who knows anything about how this process works will know that if a coach gets ejected the minimum they are going to get is probation and their name in the Leaguer.  Appeal or no appeal there is basically zero tolerance for ejections.  So this "punishment" should come of no surprise to anyone which makes it seem like posting it or writing an article about gives the appearance of trying to make it more than it is.......newsworthy.
From where I stand, the only ones trying to make more of it than it really is are you and nash.
 5.
I agree....it wasn't a big deal which leads back to my first question:  Why bother posting or reporting on it?
Which leads me back to my original answer, anytime the UIL takes action it is newsworthy.  The local newspapers of 2 of the 3 other coaches who received the same sanction Coach did received.  Remember, you asked me to research that?
 6. Maybe more wasn't printed because all of those involved thought that, other than the fact that the UIL acted, this wasn't a big deal.  And by the way, the UIL did not take that tone on all matters before in during this most recent meeting as one coach received a two game suspension and another received a one year suspension for ejections. The UIL evidently didn't think it was a big deal as they set out the minimum sanction that they could. Chris Dabe and the Enterprise didn't think it was too big of a deal as they devoted all of a few lines to the article to factually set out what happened. Coach Joubert didn't think it was a big deal (other than he needs to be careful) as he didn't even comment when contacted by the Enterprise. In fact, this very thread would have long been buried under the crush of threads involving last Friday's action as well as the looks forward to events occurring both tomorrow and in the future but for you and another making a big deal out of it.

Let the healing begin  :D
I don't know that there is a lot of healing that needs to begin.  Yes, there has been much divisiveness in the district, but I don't know that can be left completely at Dr. Thomas' feet. There is a school board that had its role in creating quite a bit of that as well. And I know that Dr. Thomas' tenure will be scarred by a number of controversies (Calvin Walker, transportation department issues, hotelgate, etc).  But as he retires, I don't know that you can say that the Beaumont ISD is in dire shape.  Academically, the district has reached the status as high as exemplary and in fact this past school did enough to do that but for the unacceptable status of a single middle school.  Financially, despite the numerous scandels in which BISD was apparently overcharged, BISD budgetary wise is still in a lot better shape than many of its neighboring school districts. And finally, in the area of athletics while some of the hoped for goals have not been reached, the athletic department is anything but a disaster.  The teams regularly reach the playoffs and in some cases have progressed far.  It has ushered in a new stadium that is in demand for use not only for BISD district games, but playoff games as well and, in fact, was a coin flip away from being host to a regional final game this past season.  Further, that stadium is used by a neighboring district as part of its season opening soccer tournament.  In a time where some districts have been the target of TEA receiverships, layoffs, unacceptable status and being unable to guide through bond issues to upgrade facilities, there are some of us that are quite envious of the state BISD is in now.

Wouldnt it have been a good idea for Mr. Henry and anybody else for that matter, to assemble all pertinent facts on the topic before writing about it?  I thought that was sort of an implied method of conduct for news reporting.
BTW, it did appear that happened, if you read the last sentence of the posted article: "Joubert declined comment Wednesday"
 9.
BTW, it was Christopher Dabe who wrote the article, not David Henry.
My bad. Sorry, Chris. Sorry, David.
 10. I didn't know he needed to give an explanation.
 11.
Wouldnt it have been a good idea for Mr. Henry and anybody else for that matter, to assemble all pertinent facts on the topic before writing about it?  I thought that was sort of an implied method of conduct for news reporting.
He reported that the UIL took action against Coach Joubert, which, in fact, the UIL did.  Anything else would have been editorializing.  If someone has a problem with David's reporting he does post his e-mail on very report he posts.  I am sure that he would be more than happy to discuss with you why he wrote what he did.
 12.
Still haven't had the question answered: If the repercussions are newsworthy why was the ejection not newsworthy? IMO, if you are gonna publicize a coach getting reprimanded then you should have covered the incident that lead to it.  Otherwise it comes across as the media just looking for the negative and doing anything they can to spark controversy instead of just reporting the news.
The answer is likely that David Henry (and likely the other media sources) weren't even aware of the ejection until Coach Joubert's name appeared on agenda or the minutes of the most recent UIL executive committee.

 16.
Its sad to see whats happening in lm. I have a friend that graduated from lm in the 80s and his advice is that anyone that can get out of lm get out. The area is in steady decline and the kids are running the school and education is no were to be found. He was born and raised in lm and left so his kid could get a good chance at getting an education and not have to worry about all the crap going on at lm.
Well, a lot of people are apparently taking that advice.  La Marque's ADA in 2009 was 996, this past snapshot date they turned in a number somewhere in the mid 700's.

 22.
None of it bothered me...I liked the drums... I almost got up to bust a move a couple of times..I really did enjoy myself...I don't think for one minute jettyman meant any disrespect by his comments... He was just giving his honest assessment of the atmosphere in the gym last night.... I should have told him ahead of time your hatered (IMOHO)for the folks of sour lake. He could have possibly worded it a little differently...Let's be honest...
Let's be honest, if such a post would have been directed as Hawk Gym, this thread would have been replete with replies in opposition.  And I don't have a "hatred" for the folks of Sour Lake.  The vast majority, including the various Hawk coaching staffs, I get along with great.  Those folks from that area that I do have a problem with I can't blame the Hardin-Jefferson ISD one iota.
 23.
