Excellent point, BG.  In fact, the now ex-coach posted on a dedicated six man site that Chester played most of the season with more or less just 6 players.  I hope that this is just an anomoly for the 'Jackets because there is no level to move down to from here.
To be honest Grad i see Chester becoming similar sorta speak with what Lufkin Hudson is right now --> (do away with football for the time being)
While I hope you are wrong, I fear that you are correct.
Please don't assume things if you have never watched a Chester H.S. game....those boys have more heart, determination and stamana.  They play because they love the game and they chose to play.  Chester may not have the kids that most six man team schools have but they play harder than most 11man teams I have ever watched.  Chester needs your support now not your criticism.
Pardon, I am not assuming anything, I am looking at facts.  I am looking at a statement by the coach of the team this years that said that Chester played most of the time with 6 players.  I am looking at Chester's schedule which shows not only 1, but 2 forfeits, this season due to not having enough players to take the field. I hope that Chester football remains viable, but this years looks erily familiar to a couple of years ago which resulted in Chester deciding that it could no longer compete in 11 man football.

 15. And let me make this as clear as possible, the donations that are made go strictly to the upkeep of the site.  No person derives their income from the donations made to SETXsports.com.  All of us have avenues of income (jobs) which pay our bills.  In fact, mine over the last couple of weeks has gotten so hectic that it has put me WAY behind on a couple of tasks for the site.  I apologize for the delay and hope to have that rectified at the very least by kickoff tomorrow.

 18. Nope, he is just like the coach that resigned, he is way too young to be coach. Seriously though, I hope this doesn't rob both Chester and High Island of the chance to play their game on Friday.
 19.
This is a joke, right???
Nope it is no joke, and the complaints continue.  It seems that we receive AT least one moderator report a day on this.  Ladies and gentlemen, you have been told this before but to state again, the continued existence of this forum is in YOUR hands!
 20.
I don't think you need to call anybody an idiot. I can assure you I am NOT an idiot! I can disagree with what is typed on here, that's what this website was created for: discussion within the rules.  One would think that two teams battling for a district crown with only one loss between them and one team with a state ranking would have an edge. Mike and I talk and we don't always agree but we don't call each other names either.
The game you discuss is meaningless other than for pride purposes.  Both sides know that they are going to the playoffs and what division of the playoffs that they are going in.  The game that was chosen (and you may not agree with your broadcast partner, but on this one I certainly do) has the drama that the game you favor lacks. Oh and if you think I am going to retract my earlier assessment, I wouldn't hold my breath.
 21.
Are you kidding me!!! The big school game of the week is two teams with losing records and just trying to get into the playoffs. SMH!!!
Before you go spouting off like an idiot, you may want to know that one of the first members of staff to speak this game up as the game of the week was your broadcast partner. It is the classic game with playoff drama, winner goes to the playoffs, loser goes to the basketball court.
Does it not matter if Anahuac wins or loses? not being smart butt plain and simple do not know....
No coach it doesn't matter in that scenario because Anahuac and Woodville would be tied at 4-3 and Woodville owns the tiebreaker.
 23. Here are the different scenarios coming out of 3 game: Anahuac/Kountze; Kirbyville/Warren and Woodville/Newton: Scenario 1: Anahuac, Kirbyville and Woodville win This would leave Anahuac, Kirbyville and Woodville with identical 4-3 district records.  The head to head record amongst these teams is 1-1 so you go to the positive points (21 point cap).  Anahuac is -5 (16 point win over Kirbyville, 27 point loss to Woodville), Kirbyville is +5 (16 point loss to Anahuac, 24 point win over Woodville), Woodville is 0 (27 point win over Anahuac, 24 point loss to Kirbyville). 3rd Place Team in Scenario 1:  Kirbyville Scenario #2: Anahuac win, Kirbyville win, Woodville loss This would leave Anahuac and Kirbyville tied with identical 4-3 district marks. Tiebreaker is head to head result which had Anahuac beating Kirbyville 32-16. 3rd Place Team in Scenario #2: Anahuac Scenario #3: Anahuac win, Kirbyville loss, Woodville win This would leave Anahuac and Woodville tied with 4-3 district records.  Tiebreaker is head to head which Woodville won 34-7. 3rd Place team in Scenario #3 - Woodville Scenario #4: Anahuac win, Kirbyville loss, Woodville loss This would leave Anahuac alone in 3rd with a 4-3 district mark. 3rd Place Team in Scenario #4 - Anahuac Scenario #5: Anahuac loss, Kirbyville win, Woodville win This would leave Kirbyville and Woodville tied with 4-3 district marks.  Tiebreaker is head to head, which Kirbyville won 51-27. 3rd Place team in Scenario #5: Kirbyville Scenario #6: Anahuac loss, Kirbyville win, Woodville loss This would leave Kirbyville alone in 3rd with a 4-3 mark. 3rd Place in Scenario #6: Kirbyville  Scenario #7: Anahuac loss, Kirbyville loss, Woodville win This would leave Woodville all alone in 3rd with a 4-3 district mark. 3rd Place team in Scenario #7: Woodville Scenario #8: Anahuac loss, Kirbyville loss, Woodville loss That would leave Anahuac, Kirbyville, Woodville, Kountze and Warren all tied with 3-4 district marks.  First tiebreaker is head to head amongst the tied teams. Anahuac beat Kirbyville (by 16) and Warren (by 40) and lost to Woodville (by 27).  A loss to Kountze would put their record at 2-2. Kirbyville beat Woodville (by 24) and Kountze (by 8) and lost to Anahuac (by 16).  A loss to Warren would put their record at 2-2. Kountze beat Warren (by 48) and lost to Woodville (by 2) and Kirbyville (by 6).  A win over Anahuac would give Kountze a 2-2 mark. Warren beat Woodville (by 4) and lost to Kountze (by 48) and Anahuac (by 40).  A win over Kirbyville would give them a 2-2 mark. Woodville beat Kountze (by 2) and Anahuac (by 24) and lost to Kirbyville (by 24) and Warren (by 4) which gives them a 2-2 mark amongst the tied teams. Then the tiebreaker is positive points.  Going into Friday, Anahuac is +16, Kirbyville is +13, Kountze is +13, Warren is -38 and Woodville (who is complete) is -2. So in Scenario #8:  If Kountze wins by 2 points or more, they are the 3rd place team.  If Kountze wins by 1, Anahuac is. My apologies wizdiz!
