  1. Please don't take my plea that he/they not be identified here as a plea of sympathy as it was not intended for that. Every penalty that is meted out as a result of this hateful act is sorely deserved. Further, I am not naive enough to think that the culprit(s) won't be fingered. It may not be done officially, but I am already hearing one name being mentioned and we will soon all know. I just don't want this to be the site to break it.
  2. Folks, I would really like to caution against identifying this young man in public forum. It sounds like he has had enough taken away from him already.
  3. I don't think so for a couple of reasons. First, what was posted might have heightened the Mustangs' resolve, but it did not diminish the Cardinals' ability...the WO-S coaches and players know that. Second, even if the Mustangs are in a position, Coach Thompson won't do it. You see as angry as we are.....and make no mistake, we are angry...Coach Thompson knows that in the bigger scheme of things, Bridge City is a small fish (no offense intended to the BC folks, it is just how it is) and he will not jeopardize the bigger things by trying to spear a small fish. Don't get me wrong, this alumnus of West Orange-Stark is angry (still) at what was said and finds no way...age or otherwise... to mitigate it. Thus, I would love nothing more than to see the visitor part of the scoreboard at Larry Ward Stadium to resemble a pin ball machine with a ball in play. But thankfully, WO-S has a coach who has more clarity of mind than us fans. I look forward to this game being played so that, if for nothing else, this sorry and unfortunate situation can begin to move behind us.

  5. Thank you. Otherwise I'd be on my pms all weekend, LOL!
  6. As one gentleman told me about this, "You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube." The truth is that the tweet was screenshot so many times, at this point it doesn't matter whether the tweet has been taken down or not.
  7. No, it was nothing like that. The young girl from Nederland made an attempt, though poorly worded, at school spirit and meant no malice. The tweet that has been discussed here contained nothing but that. I welcome Coach DuBois' words which show him to be the man I knew that he and the BC staff are. But, I will close my comments on this matter by saying that the indiscretion will not be forgotten come Friday night.....in fact, I'm not sure it will be forgiven.
  8. Sadly, no. I don't mind sharing it privately so that curious folks know what is being discussed. However, putting it in one location would put the information out in the open and, rightly so, the consensus is that it would not be appropriate to do so.
  9. Check your pm
  10. I have the utmost respect for Coach DuBois and I know this was not done on his order. However, a simple "official" apology and a plea to not judge all is just simply not going to clean the slate on this one!
  11. I'll pm you.
  12. I will PM you about it, though.
  13. No, for anyone to repeat what was said DEFINITELY runs afoul of forum rules, much less the bounds of good taste.
  14. Hell WILL be paid on this one.
