  1. Ref raised his hand to end the quarter. 2nd hand went up after 1st one.
  2. Someone from EC could probably chime in since they've seen both Kountze and East Bernard this year. EC played them close in the 1st round until EB went on a run to close the game out. They were actually tied up in the 4th quarter.
  3. Man, I kept thinking about this post as I was watching Newton make their 4th quarter run last night. It was almost like they couldn't miss.
  4. They lost to Hitchcock and La Marque in district but also beat La Marque. I wonder how they deal with pressure. We'll see on Tuesday. Game starts at 7pm at Lee College in Baytown.
  5. Kountze vs. East Bernard, Tuesday, 2/28, 7pm, Lee College (Baytown)
  6. I should've been more specific. Should've stayed in full-court. The 4th quarter looked like a 3/4 press.
  7. TJ finished with 30 points (23 in 1st half) and Cole finished with 19.
  8. If their post is good we're going to struggle. For some reason we stopped pressing against Newton and they started attacking the rim and their shots started to fall.
  9. TJ with 14pts. Newton with at least 8 points snowbirding
  10. Yep, would have to leave work early to get a seat in both Kountze and EC. Lol
  11. It's been the same since '93. The full-court press started with Coach Green who's now at North Shore. We weren't as big back then though. Just fast, athletic, and played much better defense.
  12. Yes, in 2000. I have the DVD of that game and still watch it (and get mad) from time to time. Lol. Kountze played Gainesville again in '02 also.
  13. You remember well. Thanks for bringing back those memories. There was so much riding on that game for us. We had lost in the Regional finals two years straight before that. We were so happy to finally get over the hump. It was so bad that we showed up to Austin that next week "just happy to be there" and played like it for 3 quarters.
  14. I was referring to Marks who was 6'11. McMahon was around 5'10
  15. Yes, those were heated battles. Had to have police escort to the tiebreaker
