Proved me wrong for sure.  Mexia was as good of a team as HJ saw all year and that includes every team on HJ's schedule including Nederland, Central and Silsbee!!!! Any word on DJ Weathers availability for the State tourney this weekend??

I have known for about 2-3 weeks and it was pretty much confirmed by a reputable source within the last 15 minutes that ROC is done at Lamar!!!!!  Expect an announcement sooner than later!!! ;) ;)

Kelvin Smith from Nederland and Shawn Prudhomme from HJ would be my top two!!!!   My opinion is what they did for their team during the regular season as well as in the playoffs.  I know that Prudhomme averaged 25 plus points per game during the playoffs in leading the Hawks to wins over Huffman, Stafford and Cleveland.

Girls basketball just ended yesterday..........and I would bet that a few of our local districts have not made public their all-district teams.  Give them their do and leave it up for a week.  I bet FOOTBALL does not go down the day after the last team gets knocked out!!!!

Just my two cents................basketball season is not over until all games are complete and until all all-district teams have been released.  And I would give another week for comments and talk to continue and then we can move it down.  I can assure you that the day that the last FOOTBALL team was out of the playoffs that Volleyball and Basketball were not moved to the top!!!!

That just proves the strength of that district!!!!!

No, but they were the two best teams there over the last two days and if Mexia can get Weathers back then I expect them to have a great chance to win it all.  Think about it they won without Weathers today!!!!  That says alot about their team!!!

Sad that the season is over, but am HOPEFUL that we don't have to see that sorry no good excuse for a coach next season!!!!

Bitter sweet for me as a Hawk fan..................obviously wanted Mexia to win since they beat the Hawks, but no I know that if the Hawks would have won last night that they would have had a great chance to get to state for the 3rd time in 5 years!!!!! Congrats Mexia!!!! :-\ :-\

It is only gonna get better for Big Ned.  Coach English is involved with the Nederland Little Dribbler program and that is where it starts.....with the kids that are 5,6 and 7 years old and up!!!!  Congrats again on a great season!!!

Weathers was easily the best player in the tourney!!!!

A little surprised here, but not shocked!!!!  Burkburnett beat #4 Kennedale two nights ago!!!
