Poppa, I don't mean to do this to you as you are one of the rare few that do give love to both the boys and the girls.  But look at your signature line as to whose accolades are lauded.
True Dat....You are correct, >:( :( :-[ I was going to combine all but it is really hard to find someone with all of that information..I honestly have already started compiling info..It just appears as not many cares, when it comes to the girls side....

 5.
If they come to 3A yes they will beat HJ or Silsbee by 25 plus. Just being honest with you guys. No 3A in the state can play them close
::).  You can hand it over to them next year but the Hawks won't ... I expect silsbee feels the same way... I ain't scared...

It's Every direction people are leaving...And there is nothing wrong with Sour lake... It's a great school...
No question about that...excellent basketball program too..I just know that BISD should never lose a basketball player to HJISD..What could you possibly gain, OTHER than being in a better basketball program, THESE days? Nothing wrong with Sour Lake...Why would a family move from Liberty to Houston to get AWAY from traffic and congestion? Makes about the same amount of sense...Westbrook is a really good school, but the basketball program is suffering...So why HJISD from BISD?....Basketball.
Outstanding academics ... For one....smaller class size more time for one on one instruction.... I do understand your logic however...but you grew up inner city I'm guessing, some people prefer a more rural setting, small town feel where everyone knows each other... When they do go to a a smaller town sometimes it's instant rockstar status....
They try and score on offense. They try to keep the opposing team from scoring when on defense.
LMBO...

(unless of course you include North Shore, Baytown Sterling, Livingston and any of the 19-4A teams). To complete a 16 team field you would need to add 7 more teams. Other than HJ, Silsbee, WOS and HF, who else would fill out the brackets?
Doubt if HJ will be a serious contender next year.
I cant help but agree with this post D, You have seen a lot of basketball, a lot more teams than me, and I know how you felt about the HJ/Silsbee match up, because you told me. "It's a college environment game" as you said. Also you said that "it was the BEST game you had seen all year." now the question remains, was it the best because of; A.) the level of play B.) the coaching adjustments C.) Wild crazy passionate fans D.) Style of play E.) All the above.
E for 100 Alex..... 8)....It WAS the best HS game that I had seen in this area all season long, by far...3A HJ vs. Silsbee....WOW. :o
I know you enjoyed it...I loved the analysis you provided about what you would do to counteract adjustments made....and behold when they would come out they were doing just that...You are a "guru"
 11. come on guys dont tell me I killed another thread, I'm going to have to quit posting...
 12. He hardly ever speaks unless spoken too... :o
 13. To quote Hamlet & WOSgrad, ME THINKS THE GENTLEMAN DOTH PROTEST TO LOUD....lol....No one I have seen has ever said any of that....your crazy dude....Nash didn't come up with this thread he was just defending it's fortitude. Chill out.
 14.
I can see it being addicting PoppaBear but not so addicting that I could or would join the Hawk Club.  ;)  I just wish the kids had the support if their peers and community more here in Longhorn country.
Believe it or not, someone had the nerve to say(not to my face of course) " He only follows them because they win consistantly", They did not have the intestinal fortitude to say it to me, because my response would have been; ARE YOU ON CRACK....I've been a devoted aggie fan for over 20 years, yes even basketball, when they were horrible. If that were the case I would have dumped them 18 years ago...
Thanks PoppaBear...tradition has to start somewhere.  I definately see it at HJ. Uandme08 said in the "I found this article interesting" post... "I can't seem to understand why there isn't at least 1 person from the family there for each child participating including the cheerleaders."  I know all of the fans that follow HJ and Silsbee don't have kids/grandkids playing--they just follow which is my point...if you have a team that you want to claim as "your team" and you can get on this board or anywhere else and talk for/against them then come out and support them. Most teams don't bring cheerleaders with them on the road but I've even seen some who don't even have their cheerleaders cheering at their home games (totally don't understand that one). . It takes more than parent(s)/grandparents.  :)
Believe it or not, HJ's support has been down this year by way of their student section, they only show up for the big games..But I do love seeing all of the former students, parents, & athletes that show up every night. The passion for support the community has is addicting..
 17. I still say that the reason for ozen's lack of domination as in the past, is that the talent is spread out throughout the Beaumont schools more evenly. Yes coaching is a big part of it too. Maybe not the x's & o's, but as dove said when the kids buy into what the coach is teaching, it makes a huge difference...Kids knew when they strapped them up at Ozen when Boutte was there they didn't second guess him because of his success. Dont fool yourself, Kids see that. Now you have a plethora of coaches in the stands...

 20. Hmmm good topic, last year I think Silsbee would have went undefeated...earlier in the year there was 5 3a schools in the top ten...I think that the talent is spread out between the Beaumont schools more than it used to be...
 21.
Inflammatory?  I just said I was curious. To paraphrase Hamlet: Me thinks the gentleman doth protest a bit too loudly.
After reading this thread many times and trying to wrap more poor little country brain around everything that was said...your couriosity could only lead to two responses...one being negative, and one being positive... However the way in which a worded the heading appears as though it stemmed from a recent event as you stated... I did think that you thought that I must have had a recent issue, maybe with your hometown team, which I can understand you wanting to defend them. This I understand, just as you have witnessed the same thing from me before. I can assure you that as far as the kids at WOS I have the utmost respect for them, over the last 3 or 4 years ...I have been very impressed with their sportsmanship...If its worth anything I don't mean to be so cliche, but I thought you were reading a book by its cover..I respect your loyalty to your school. I do think that you thought my response would have been inflammatory just as stevenash said..but I would have tried my best to pull it out of you if the roles were reversed...that you know to be true as well unfortunately.. No disrespect meant... Just everyone trying to defend there extended family...
