I will continue to say this for all the fans that keep complaining. IF YOU DON"T LIKE THE WAY THE GAME IS OFFICIATED, GET OFF YOUR BUTT, GRAB A WHISTLE, AND TAKE THE FAN ABUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS THAT EASY! Its funny how I never heard a current or fomer official complain about the officiating, because they know how tough it is. And also, only the losing team complains, never the winning!!!!!

Its either one way or the other. And for you to talk about other teams and how they won't make it out of their Region isn't exactly in GOOD OLE FUN either. And I will add this, if you have to let people know on a message board how much basketball knowledge you have, then your not that impressive of a individual or coach. Dick, that was a dumb comparison. Dude, who cares about the name (Oak Hill Academy), they beat the USA Today #1 St. Patrick and #9 Oak Hill Academy in successive nights. That says it all, they beat some of the best the nation has to offer, and I guarntee that if Ozen would have done it you would be screaming from the high heavens. This is Dickie's drink of choice: And BTW, its not very becoming of a coach to say another team in your own region that you might play isn't very good. Some times your comments just amaze me. Maybe before you press POST, you might want to read what you wrote and realize who you respresent.

If Yates played like they did against Oak Hill and St Patrick's, it would be Yates going away. I don't know if they already have peaked but I watched the game on ESPNU and they looked really really good. Boutte has been known to pull off some great gameplans, but I think the talent he would be going against would be way too much. And about the Yates playing Oak Hill and St Patrick comments, spare me with "the talent was down" line, because when you beat 2 Top 10 nationally ranked teams in successive nights, it says alot about the type of team you have.

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't EC coming off of 3 straight Regional Tourney apperances (2 Reg Finals), in which they have lost to the state champions in all 3 games? Sounds hardly like bad coaching!!! Just remember the grass isn't always greener on the other side. And who cares what people in the stands say, especially in Winnie. I went to school there and heard things said while I was in school that was insanely crazy about great coaches, just like your comments are.

SAD???? What are they suppose to do, let them score? I don't think Big Sandy even presses. They said they played their bench the entire 4th, and I'm sure they played much more than that. I've watched BS and its not like they are some pressinIts not like they scored 120 pts and were still pressing. Its not running up the score when the other team can't even put the ball in the net

i would really like to see this one. I watched HD during the Holidays and walked away very impressed with their team. Good Luck to both teams!!!

Great game tonight in Kountze. 3 things I observed from the game tonight: 1. EC played without emotion. If they would have played like that against HJ the other night they would have been beaten by 25+. Also, T. Thomas went 14-15 from the FT, the rest of the team went 5-19 (terrible). But in saying all that EC had a chance to win at the end of the game. 2. Kountze played great and with something to prove. #25 was IMO the difference in the game. And as crazy as this sounds, Kountze might be better without Brey on the court, but his dunk in the 4th was by far the best dunk I have ever seen at the 3A-1A level. 3. There is a reason Kountze has won 28448 straigt district games in their gym. That placed is really tough to win in. And his has nothing to do with the referees. Its just simply intimidating and daunting. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way, and this sets up for a nice rematch in Winnie in a few weeks.

HFfan, i totally agree. I was probably more amazed that EC was able to with stand that momentum swing of the dunk, than simply winning the game. There is only a handful of small schools(Kountze, HJ, Silsbee, and EC) that could have with stood that type of thing. IMO!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night Trey Burrell dunked on Vance McDonald and it was sick. Anyone at the game can attest to how great it was. I will also say that its probably the best dunk I have ever seen at the 3A, 2A, 1A level.

Lazeek, but HJ will always have more fouls than other teams with their physical style of play. EC packed in a 2-3 zone and HJ really didn't attack the bucket in the half court so of course they aren't going to have as many FT attempts are fouls, where as EC went at the bucket every time they broke the press. If both teams would have been pressing and playing the same style and the FT count would have been that way then you could totally make the argument, but in this case your comparing apples to oranges. On another note, that was a GREAT High School baskeball atmosphere and I for one was glad I was able to witness the best SETX has to offer. GOOD JOB to both schools for bringing great players, coaching, and fans tonight.
