  2. man, this is a far cry from the hype we have been hearing from Lumberton over the last two seasons
  3. Your right. Refs... ;D .. Also, don't start shaking those annoying propane tanks! Soulja, I always respect your posts, but come on with the "refs" and home cookin thing.
  4. wth on Lumberton's freshmen??? I thought this was a group that rolled everyone in middle school and they got pounded by ozen?
  5. Wow! This is truly tragic...Moose was a great official and a better person...I am shocked and saddened by this to say the least...prayers for his family.
  6. IMO, no matter what you run, the game of football begins up front with the offensive and defensive lines.
  7. in a spread offense you're not firing out at the defense and youre "catching"them to make your blocks. so jmo but it will make your O-Line soft... It hasn't seemed to be a problem for the University of Florida, Texas, Oklahoma...I could go on and on...granted, you do have to have the folks to run it and given the current situation, you may see Nederland giving some different looks this week....should be interesting...we'll see.
  8. we know exactly who the idiot is every time you open your mouth...thanks for the confirmation!
  9. Sounds to me like the Dogs have nothing to lose...as evidenced by this poll, no one expects them to win, so they truly have nothing to lose...they need to play with a chip on their shoulder for the rest of the season...champions are built out of adversity and this team has had way more than their fair share of adversity this season...it's all about attitude now
  10. Freshmen: Nederland 15 Ozen 12
  11. The challenge is steep for the Dogs tonight against a formidable opponent and having to start your 3rd string QB...I think the guys need to look to continue to improve in all areas of the game with district around the corner next week...what we don't need are injuries tonight, so hopefully we come out of this game with our health in tact and seeing some guys continue to improve. It's a no lose situation for Nederland IMO...no one expects them to beat F-Wood under these circumstances so let it all hang out and you never know what might happen...play with your hair on fire boys!
  12. Nederland score is final now...Dogs 20, Stangs 15
  13. I truly believe that field position is one of the most underrated things considered in high school football...I firmly believe in making 16 and 17 year old kids drive as far as possible to score...the opportunity for mistakes by an offense is great...to me, if someone is going to beat me, I want them to have to go as far as possible, especially at the high school level.
  14. Nederland 20 Friendswood 15 2 and a half minutes left in this 9th grade "A" game
  15. Updated score on the 9th grade game in Friendswood: Friendswood 15 Nederland 14 About 8 minutes left
  16. Nederland 9th (A) 14 Friendswood 9th (A) 7 3rd quarter score
  17. Proud, I feel where you are coming from on this...better to let things be and quietly go about taking care of your business...way too premature to be hanging championship banners.
  18. Wasn't PNG 3-0 heading into district last year as well?
  19. Nice win for the Dogs...showed great character to come from behind with a guy making his first start at QB this season...defense stiffened up in the 2nd half...things can only get better from here...nice job boys!
  20. Just heard that they will be playing Dayton, which is great! Those guys will be tough for certain.
  21. that stinks...leaves Nederland freshmen and JV without a game for 2 weeks before playing what I am sure will be a tough Friendswood team and then district.
  22. From what I understand, Kirby wanted to be out there with his team. I don't believe not playing was ever even an issue with him. He is a great competitive athlete. It would be hard for any high school senior to give up playing his senior year. Also from what I read about Augie, he likes the boys who play football; it helps them build character and disipline. Kirby will be back up and going in no time leading us to the baseball playoffs again in the spring!!! With all due respect rounder, saying it was a bad decision now is very easy to do and classic Monday morning quarterbacking...I didn't hear anyone asking if it was a bad idea before he got hurt...my understanding is that Kirby always intended to and wanted to play his senior season and if that's the case, then he should play unless someone from UT says straight up, "don;t play or you lose your scholarship.". Best of luck to Kirby...whatever happens from here, he has certainly been an asset to this football program for 3 years now and I wish him a speedy recovery and best of luck in his future...hopefully, he can recover in time for baseball season and I think he will and then he can continue to pursue his desire to play at the next level, which I also believe he will do.
  23. Now this right here is funny...someone from PNG calling Nederland or anyone else for that matter, overhyped...how about a team who's fans thought they would roll BH and have starters on the sideline by halftime holding on for a one point win despite being the beneficiary of 7 first half turnovers.
  24. True dat, mack...they hardly gave up any first downs much less points.
