Rudder was down 28-14 in the 4th Qtr but came back to tie and force OT. Rudder kicked a FG. Huntsville was at the 1 yard line about to win the game but the RB fumbled at the goal line. Long discussion about if he crossed the line but refs really had no idea so they gave it to Rudder.

5A – II District 10 Looks like a wide open District in 2021 Games this week: Bryan Rudder at Huntsville – Rudder is ready to try and take down the Hornets, who appear ripe for an upset Fulshear at Lake Creek – The loser will have a tough road to the playoffs A&M Consolidated at Lamar Consolidated – A&M should rebound from last week’s loss. Teams: 1. Huntsville football has become a perennial playoff team under head coach Rodney Southern. Offensively, they have 8 returning starters with valuable experience and considerable depth. However, they will need to reload after losing 9 starters on the defensive side of the ball, including the Bobino brothers. Injuries have been an issue so far this season. 2. Montgomery Bears return 8 starters and will once again contend. The QB, Bolfing, is an accurate experienced passer that leads a very solid offense. The RB is a big play threat. The Bears do lack depth so they must stay healthy. They are having to fill in some gaps from a large Senior class last year. 3. Bryan Rudder’s 2021 team could be the Best in School History. Rudder welcomes 15 starters back this season and most of them have multiple years of varsity experience. The QB, Ezar, is one of the top dual threat QBs around. Rudder has a solid defense, and OL. Even with a young secondary and WR’s, they expect to contend for a District title 4. A&M Consolidated has a lot of experience coming back, good chemistry, and a great coach. They have 11 starters returning, but will need to replace their QB, kicker and punter position. The Tigers are always in the mix to win District. 5. Lake Creek graduated its first senior class in 2021, including 12 starters, but still has great Senior leadership and was the 4th place team from last year. The receiving corp is young but good. They need to improve their depth but are fully capable of returning to the playoffs. 6. Fulshear has improved each year and is seeking their first playoff appearance, and has 18 starters back to try and do that. They will have to replace the QB though. 7. Lamar Consolidated can only go up from 2020’s winless campaign. They do have lots of returning starters, but playoffs don’t seem realistic this year.

This poll is a joke. Don’t even look at it. The 5th and 6th best teams in District 10 are ranked.
-
FB Marshall may still be considered the favorite in Region 3. The other top teams aren’t as strong as last year. At least to this point. I think there could be a surprise team emerge. Don’t see anyone in Regions 3-4 that can knock off Aledo.

Pretty sure the WR broke an ankle or lower leg. Definitely something was going the wrong way. Not sure about Simmons. Hornets moved him to D-Line and they can not afford to lose him as he is the best on that side. Starting RB also has missed the last two games, so running game is not much. Injuries making things tough for the Hornets right now.

5AD2 #5 A&M Consolidated loses to Willis 17-24

I’m just stating facts. I’m not comparing Dist 10 and 12. Everyone has their own opinion, but I wouldn’t label the District as “weak”. -

Definitely a couple of bad losses for the District. Huntsville has some injury issues and the passing of one of their coaches this week. They weren’t going to beat King. They will be fine. A&M beat Judson the prior week. The top 5 teams in the district are now a combined 15-2. That should be an indication of the strength of District 10. -

I think a couple of teams got a much needed reality check. The District is pretty strong with the top 5 teams. There could be some surprises though. -
Very surprised to see A&M lose to Willis. District 10 is probably wide open. Willis QB is good. He is a Soph and getting some D1 looks.
-
King scores on the last play of the half. 35-6.
-
Hornets finally get a couple of defensive stops. 14 yard TD pass makes it 28-6. Late 2nd Qtr.
-
No doubt. Failed fake punt at the 34 for the Hornets and King capitalizes and its 28-0. Looks like a good night for King.
-
77 yard run sets up King again. 21-0 in the 2nd Qtr. King just running behind that O-Line and Huntsville hasn’t stopped it.
-
Hornets with 2 turnovers and King scores after both. It will be competitive.
-
King’s O-Line averages 6’6 and 300.
-
7:00pm. King leads 7-0

SETXSports Week 4 High School Football Scoreboard

That must be a JV game. Alpha is playing Somerville tonight. -
Huntsville won last year’s nail biter matchup but they will have to stop the big plays from the King running attack if they want to repeat. Huntsville’s RB is out and they had a coach pass from Covid this week. Not sure what to expect, but I’ll say King 28-14.

Never underestimate the power of Luck.

I think it’s too early to say. Consol is always solid. They have played two bad opponents and then a good win against Judson. Not sure if Judson is really good though. After the Oct 1 game against Huntsville, we’ll know more. District 10 is tough, and there could be some surprises. Huntsville’s starting RB missed the game against Kingwood due to injury. The Hornet offense looked a little lost. The defense has been pretty good, but no Bombino’s this year. At this point, I don’t think they beat C.E. King this week. i agree that FB Marshall is not as dominant, but they certainly are still in the running. Crosby and Texas High are still in the conversation as well.

I’ll take Coldspring by 2 TD’s.

Beaumont United Timberwolves at Montgomery Bears

Ok, well I don’t think it was changed recently. My schedule is a month old and it shows Thursday. -
Beaumont United Timberwolves at Montgomery Bears
Eazy replied to lcm93's topic in High School Football
I think it’s been scheduled for Thursday all along. There are two Montgomery schools that share the field. I don’t know a lot about United, but I’ll take the Montgomery Bears in this one. Two backs combined for 350 yards rushing against Dayton (Yes, I know). QB is very experienced and the Bears offense should put up some points. -
Trinity ISD has closed all of their schools until Sept 13. Next 2 Friday night games against Groveton and Tarkington are cancelled. Groveton has Covid too.
