No, insanity is predicting a win. You can rally around your team, be supportive, be positive, predict that we will go out and compete our butt's off, that we will "fight tooth and nail." That all makes complete and total sense and is very optimistic. But to come and say that, "we will not lose," is just not real logical. IMO.

Your PNG buddy said "we are not losing this game." Where I come from, that is a bold prediction or proclamation. My rationale is that the best player on your team, who also happens to be your QB, is not playing. He has been the focal point of this offense since he took over as a Sophomore. He is your leading rusher as well. You have had trouble running the ball with anybody other than him. Your Offensive Line is below average this year (IMO, you are obviously missing the O-Line coach that left) and you do not have any big play receivers. The back-up QB is unproven and inexperienced and will be starting his first Varsity football game. Your defense has struggled to stop even average offenses and you wil also be missing to significant starters on that side of the ball. All of this tells me that saying "your will not lose" is a bit on the crazy side.

I know, right. I guess he doesn't realize that Newton has a TON of size on the o-line and d-line to go along with all of the great athletes they have.

And to what do you attribute these problems? Is it a coaching thing? Or, does the problem run deeper? You will win at least one game, Livingston is in your district.

Is that confidence I smell or complete insanity? How can you boldly proclaim that you are not losing this game? What about this situation lends itself to a victory? I'm not hating and I'm definitely not predicting anything.I'm just curious what your rationale is?

Yikes, not the start to the season that the Falcons had hoped for. How does Huffman respond? Do they improve and fix the problems or throw in the towel and start thinking about basketball.

On the road without your starting QB probably does not bode well for PNG.

Silsbee has to be more balanced on Offense. The QB position has been an issue and until they settle on one and give him all the reps and balance the offense then scoring consistently will continue to be a problem.

So you are telling me that PNG is better than Lufkin? By alot? The same Lufkin team that just took 6A State Title contender Lonvgiew down to final minutes and barely loss. PNG may very well win, but I wouldn't take the Hornets lightly or they might sting you.

They were't that much bigger than Livingston at the time. College Station was only in their 4th year of playing varsity football and it was only their 2nd season in 5A. Still have no idea why he scheduled Magnolia West, but that is a question for the man.

That would be Broussard's second year? That was his first REAL team after he ran all of the holdovers from Rowe's staff off and got all of HIS guys in there right? They were total flexbone that year if I'm not mistaken and it was an unmitigated disaster, other than Caddie. That was the season that ended with 2 teams (JV/Varsity) and around 60-65 kids in the program?

I will agree that the Culture in the Livingston area is not conducive to success on the football field. However, Randy Rowe found a way to win with the same type of kids. I know for a fact that in Rowe's last year in Livingston he had 3 teams, with over 30 kids on each team and over a 100 in the program. After Broussard's 1st year in Livingston they never had more than 2 teams for more than 6 weeks and the overall numbers plummeted. Broussard ran off every quality coach left over from Rowe's staff, including 2 Livingston graduates who are both well respected in town and by the kids. Not a recipe for success.

Nobody said that BC sucked, they just aren't good enough right now to compete with the first two teams on their schedule.
