1. Either liltex's fingers are tired from last night and this morning...OR...he was shocked at what he saw at GP. Surely SCDAWGS has a recap...Let's hear it.
2. Don't see anything posted about how Dayton's kicker did tonight..
3.
I think these people know what their talking about! ;)
Like finding that Doctor that tells you what you want to hear...
4. From past reading experiences...Don't know why anyone would get excited about this Chronicle's 19-4A Preview.  He starts out saying that K-Park won their Dist. title last season..Enough said.  Looks like a rookie reporter was given his shot and just didn't do much legwork.  Kind of like reading the posts of some of the responders on this site...You do a yahoo for what you like, or, jump in and react to what you dispute.  As several of you have stated, doesn't matter anyhow...It's done on the field, not on this board, so take it all with that perverbial grain of salt. Still love reading all of ya'll's stuff...
5. IMO...after watching for a summer season...the Columbia Angel program is a way to go.  Coaches are fair, no nonsense, do the correct way types.  Players are only told "Good job", when you get the job done.  And, you're also told when you don't get it done.  One of the fairest priced programs out there for Select Ball.  Again...JMO
6. When you say Baytown's storied athletic history, you have to go back to the 50's and 60's.  In those days, the Beaumont/PA/Orange area could only compete w/ Pt Arthur Thomas Jefferson.  Everyone else in that area were doormats in just about all sports.  Dan Stallworth(Baytown Lee) started the multiple(more than 3) coaching staff in football.  He made everyone else have to catch up.
7. Probably, if we look back on this thread, BH was getting the same "Poor BH" treatment prior to last season.  Didn't do bad for a second year program.  We'll take the "off the radar" tag.  Good  motivator.  Go Baseball Eagles...
8. Possibly in reference to Coach Long's retirement announcement after the game last night.  What a storied program Brenham Baseball has been during his tenure.  Hope this forum doesn't lose BrenhamFan.
9. Pretty common fact that a lot of people, especially diehard fans and some parents, just don't understand.  If you have the athletes, you can run Ring Around The Roses for an offense, and it will be fairly successful.  If you don't have the horses, you struggle...Especially in a strong District like 20-4A.  JMO...
10. Come on GCMPats...Base hits and errors are generally the decision of an assigned coach working with whomever is keeping the official book.  No one lets student athletes decide that stuff.
11. And...You might say...One game or three...It's a tough match-up for the Dogs...
12. Barbers Hill Jr. Nathan Oliphant hit his first HR Friday night in the BH - North Forrest game.
13. On Friday the 23rd...Did Dayton win over GCM 4 - 3, or did GCM win by that score?
14. Game ended due to expiration of 2:15 minute time limit.
15. David Bishop was the Humble High School Principal until his resignation from the District...
16. liltex...I used to travel through Dayton back then, living in Humble, and Dayton was, like Humble, a little 2A town.  Wish Humble was still that way...Nothing West of the RR tracks but cow pasture, and a pretty good overall athletic program...And virtually no crime. In 2012, look for Dist. 19-4A to be very, very competitive.  If everyone reloads coaching staffs in Crosby and Humble the way that they have in Dayton, Summer Creek and Barbers Hill, it's going to be tough getting into the top four, which is going to make everyone stonger for the Playoffs.  Talent is a strong ingredient but coaching is the glue that puts it all together.  Wasn't that difficult in Dayton...They just closed ranks, named a HC from their staff, and kept it going.  Summer Creek brought in a proven coach, as did BH, and look at the move they've both made in two seasons. Going to be good 19-4A teams limited to a 10 game schedule next season.  JMO
17. Nice write-up Randy...The Monkey is now in place. Eagles...Just remember what the Ol' Coach says about potential. Every day, every practice, every game...Work your hardest to get better as a team, and stronger with you're fundamental skills.  That's the only way that success and luck will come your way. Here's wishing The Hill, and all of our SETX, and Houston Area High School Teams out there the best for 2012.
18. GGD...My heart aches from what's happening at REL.  To have been there in some of her glory years, I could have never imagined this occurring.  It's happening in so many Districts in the area.  The zoning process has created such a downfall.  Wish School Boards would look around before rezoning and try their best to prevent these tragedys...JMO...Hope Mikey has a great season.
19. I'm so ready for baseball season...My most anticipated game is the first scrimmage on the schedule.  My next most anticipated game is the next one on the schedule, and so on down the list.  Bring'um on...
20. IMO...Select is good for position players as they, most of the time, get to play 3+ innings a game and get the reps to aide development. It's another matter with Pitchers...They will, most weekends, get, at most, 3 innings of pitching time.  In most cases it's 2.  This, IMO, is not development.  It's making sure that a team member, who has paid his fees, gets into a game, once or twice a weekend.  How can you develop, throwing 15 to 25 pitches a weekend?  This often leads to just going out there and, realizing your not going to be there long, throwing as hard as you can to impress the guns...Not development. As for the getting seen by Scouts promise...If a player has talent...HE WILL BE SEEN.  IMO...
21. Man...With the likes of Jonathan Grey and Trey Williams not on the Roster...Running backs must be quite awesome.
