Exactly on Silva. A year ago GSP stood no chance against Silva. Now, GSP has a better shot than anyone at Silva's weightclass or less

He has been this way for over a year, against Hughes and Sierra..He is just dominating right now whether you like him or not.
-
And I meant Silva is bored with his weight "class" not weightless. I was tired last night.

Congrats B. Scott. She will always be one of my favorites to have ever covered. Hard to believe she has been gone for 2 years!

The ref could have easily stopped the fight in the 3rd round and all through the 4th! Penn is a waste of talent. GSP needs to put on some pounds and go fight Anderson Silva. After watching how dominant he has been over his last few fights, I think he can hang with Silva. Silva is bored with his weightless and GSP needs to be tested. Make it happen Dana White.

Once again it was obvious Penn did not train for this fight enough. Penn has all the talent in the world yet he does not put it to use. GSP on the other hand is a business man at this. He takes his matches so serious. It was not even a contest and should have been the best fight in a long time yet Penn ruined it with his laziness.

[Hidden Content] Penn has no answers for GSP By Steve Cofield Georges St. Pierre wasn't only the bigger man, he was the better man. GSP has corrected many of his slight flaws over the years and employed the perfect style to take advantage of what was probably a 15 pound weight difference. Penn, trying to step up from the lightweight division to challenge for St. Pierre's UFC welterweight title, was simply too small to compete with the French-Canadian. GSP scored takedowns in the second, third and fourth rounds. He shifted betwenen side control and full guard pounding the Hawaiian with elbows and punches. It got worse as the fight went along. Penn simply could not improve position With 16 seconds left, St. Pierre turned to the referee Herb Dean and implored him to stop it. Penn made it to the end of the fourth where the fight was stopped before the start of the fifth. Two judges turned in cards with a pair of 10-8 rounds. They had it 40-35, 40-34 and 40-34. St. Pierre beat Penn back at UFC 58 in 2006 via split decision. He wanted it to be more decisive this time around: "I've been training since September. I had a lot of pressure on me. This time I really want to take him out. I'm really glad I did it."

There is an all of a sudden problem with supporting my high school? You really don't know anything about me do you? One of the main reasons I have stayed in Orange to write sports was to be able to say I had no bias whatsoever. I cover everyone the same, treat everyone the same and will always put PN-G first. If you don't like that, I can't help you and really don't want to.

Faircloth takes PN-G job By Tom Halliburton The Port Arthur News PORT NECHES -- Brandon Faircloth will be recommended to become Port Neches-Groves next head football coach at a special PNGISD trustees meeting Tuesday night. Faircloth was offered the opportunity and accepted it Friday from PNGISD schools superintendent Dr. Lani Randall. The innovative Odessa Permian offensive coordinator was expected to attend the board meeting next Tuesday night in West Groves Elementary School at 6 p.m., according to Dr. Randall. "We had some strong candidates but Brandon was impressive to our interview committee," Dr. Randall said. "We had some great finalists but Brandon's background in Texas high school football at Austin Westlake, Highland Park and Odessa Permian was very impressive. I would say that he's a great fit for PN-G... You're going to like him when you meet him." Always a strong advocate of academics, the PNGISD schools superintendent indicated that Faircloth's father was a school principal in Brownwood. "We looked for a candidate with good leadership, a good role model for our students and a keen mind about football." Faircloth has coached such outstanding athletes as former University of Texas and current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams while working under head coach Darren Allman on the Panthers coaching staff. "We're going to miss him," Permian's head coach told sports writer Joel Erickson of the Odessa American newspaper. "But that's what we want our assistant coaches to be able to do, and it's one of the reasons they come to Permian." Permian averaged 41.4 points per game during an undefeated, 10-game regular season last year. The Panthers won two playoff games and lost to Allen, 28-22, in the Class 5A Division I area round. Since joining the Permian coaching staff in 2006, Faircloth has presided over three consecutives seasons in which his quarterback has broken Permian's single-season passing record, a streak that was capped by the 2,682 yards Trevor Adams gained this season. Faircloth also presided over running back Sherard Ray's 2,224-yard rushing season in 2008, the second-best single-season rushing mark in Permian history. Pending Randall's recommendation to the board, Faircloth would fill the vacancy created when Matt Burnett accepted the reassignment to become the school's outdoor athletic complex coordinator and attendance officer. The News reported in Thursday's sports section that two prestigious applicants for PN-G's position had withdrawn their names from consideration -- Phil Danaher from Corpus Christi Calallen and Jerry Vance from Liberty Hill. Another major Southeast Texas head coaching vacancy opened Friday at Jasper. Bulldogs head football coach Thomas Brooks surprisingly announced that he has resigned from the position. Brooks announced his intentions to stay in the Jasper school district as athletic director and director of the alternative education center.

I agree! Talked to some guys from Permian. They said Faircloft is the "real deal" and he will take PNG back to the playoffs. Said they will definitely miss him, but its important that he continue his career. Faircloft wanted to come to PNG and the program we have. They said he had a LOT of respect for PNG and their fans. Way to go PNG! Look forward to a very motivational and enthusiastic young coach! Doesn't it feel good tonight to slap the people back in the face who have been doing it to us for about a month now? I love the hire and I love how our board did what they felt they needed to do to get it done. If you don't like it and aren't from PN-G, move on!
