I’m assuming he won’t be an assistant anymore.
-
He is not. He is standalone AD and will be hiring a head basketball coach
-
Saw on FB that John VanDover has been hired for the role of Athletic Director at Central Heights
-
Herron is a stud. Poolville is lucky to have him
-
Nvm. Heard he passed on it
-
Word on Smoaky is Newton from Whitehouse took the job after one other declined it.

Day is a great guy. Congrats coach!! -
Posted on their website as it “could be tied to it”

No it’s just the stats that he has- you somehow just overlook? Coach of the year twice. Supergold coach of the year once. I have to get on here and back him up because yall constantly berate this dude. I coached against him once, back when I was still in the profession. He came in prepared and ready to go. One of the best in the area

No idea.

he’s the only coach that has brought lumberton to the playoffs and he’s been 2 time coach of the year at lumberton which we all know is one of the worse basketball schools in Texas. He won at dville(terrible basketball school), spurger(pretty good b-ball school back in the day), and now lumberton. He’s competitive every where he goes. This is always a dumb convo that goes in a circle because yall don’t like the energy he brings and what he expects out of the players. He coaches hard and you don’t like that. Silsbee was healthy that game from what I remember. Same Silsbee team that beat Yates the same year.
-
Kevin Herron resigned and is going to Poolville ISD. Will be an interesting hire that should get a lot of attention in the bball world.
-
AAW said He didn’t apply and I trust what he says. In response to Harry Doyle if he had the right athletes he would run a different system. Do you know he trapped Silsbee- in full court and half court when lumberton won the district title? A good coach can coach all kids and will change his system based on personnel. Whatever gives the kids the best chance to win is what a good coach will put them in.

I've coached against all of those guys and English, Davis, Joubert, Sutherland, and Green. They all have better players each and every year and when lumberton had one college guy what did they do? They won a district ship at Lumberton and honestly I watched Lumberton play in a warm up game that year and wasn't that impressed with Mclure. Dude got a hometown offer to Lamar. Yall say I'm a Mitchell fan club member but honestly I just don't get the hate this guy gets. Dude gets a little passionate and forces his kids to play hard and you think his off the court "antics" make him bad. I see kids who play hard and love the game and then leave his program as young men because he treats them that way.

It’s no surprise which school it’s easier to coach at. HJ has dudes year in and year out
-
I’ve been reading too much about how your bff at HJ might not make the playoffs with the studs he has.
