  1. [quote author=pe2009 link=topic=112261.msg1408963#msg1408963 date=1369839211] Really want to see how this Ozen/Cedar Hill game plays out. That will be a good game. Cedar Hill is always loaded but Im more excited to see the ozen central game. two brand new head coaches and an abundance of talent on each team. I havent really seen either team this spring under their new generals but from what I hear they are both loaded heck throw in the WB also. I excited to see all teams play and do well. Lets go BEAUMONT
  2. I have three sons of my own all of which are involved in sports. sports prepares kids for life but it will never be anything worse than loosing a child to a sport. My heart and prayers go out to the family and community. Rember God is an on time God and he promised to bring us through every moment of life as long as we lean and depend on him. Just more proof that we need to ejoy and celebrate our kids every chance we get. encourage them and always make sure they know they are loved. RIP #33
  3. Nash not stirring the pot or anything just wondering why did hj/twincounty litttle dribblers play games in the beaumont little dribbler league. If it was just to get more games in hats off to whom every thought of the idea. or was that not the case.
  4. lol this is too funny hj upset because big bad yates took their candy lol
  5. zeek calm down dude. I am not tryoing to stir any pots. In my original post I said Hj has always had a good program. My remark about finding a coach to keep the kids at the school simply means. Go find a High profile or big name coach that has a good report with kids and parents. The Talent is there and has always been there. Kids stay....and move there for basketball because of Southerland. Hire a coach of his stature and the football program will do just as well. Never knocked Hj...and those kids that left will problay do great in either BISD school. but we both know it they could do really well at hj also. It will always be my opinion that a good coach will get the best out of the kids he has whether they are the best kids or not.
  6. HJ has an open enrollment plan but you may be correct. But I do know of many younger kids who will be freshmen in BISD who have left HJ. and the people in Hj would love to have them back.
  7. I have no care who gets the job in HJ. but i am familiar with the program. I have had many family members come through the program over the years. Hj has always had talent and it comes in all races. Good coaches find a way to win despite what they have and yes they should be judged by wins and losses. Southerland doesent have the biggest fastest or strongets basketball players in the area ......but he wins. The people in that are should have a right to expect the same thing from their football program. The years my nephews played at hj their football program was under Pat Fischer. He had a good mixture of all races that believed in the system and had a will to win. .....Since then I have noticed that alot of talent(white and black) is leaving to go to beaumont schools. Hj  needs a that will do whatever it takes to keep those neighborhood kids playing.
  8. Coach Brown if you read this non sense please dont change your coaching style. Continue to work your girls hard. Remember how they felt coming up short in AUSTIN. If you have the talent to beat a team by 95 beat them by 95.  and then once you beat the invite them to saturday practice and show them how hard your girls work!!!!! Highschool basketball is not a saturday morning little dribbler or Ymca game.
  9. I dont know if they took the press off... I was at the boring boys game....These girls cant get approval from anyone...when they held the ball against Vidor...now when they dont hold the ball they are getting bashed...smh
  10. How do you know coach brown and her staf didnt put in the secon or third string. Those girls are trying to get to austin and it will take everyone on the bench. it not fair for the subs to get in and play pitty ball either.
  11. Nash I wasnt underestimating PNg. They played a great game and if it wasnt for the last min. shot they would have won. Hats off to the Indians great game plan and very well executed. the point I was trying to make is that you never know what team will show up with these guys. If we were playing nederland it would have been more hustle from the team. diving in the floor for loose balls sprinting down the court in transition. things I call the want to things. Every game is a big game!!!!
  12. Man I always hate this conversation. I wish i was at this game instead of the boys game. Yeah this was a lop sidded victory but Ive never understood why teams get frowned upon after a big win. Its not their fault that they are better than the other team. And before you ask I have been on teams from both sides of the spectrum. I was once on a basketball team that was beat by 87 points and then turned aroud the next week and won by 72. that 87 point loss was embarrising but it also lit a fire under us and we begain to work harder. Lady panthers congrats on a big win if you can do it again do it. there is no colum for a moral victory in the record book.
  13. Man I really dont know what to say about ozen. I refuse to put all the blame on The coaching staff heck I wnt blame them at all in this post lol. The players on that team play when they want to and only when they want to. Ive been to most of the games this year and theynever seem so play with any passion  unless they are playing central and nederland. Those guys are too darn good to play like they did the other night. They need to take lessons from the lady panthers. The girls are mor entertaining to watch then the boys. The girls could care less who they play they are going to play their hardest if the win by 3 or by 95 you know they gave it their all. I question that of the boys alot.
