  1. Don't be so sure about that bobbymcgee. Argyle beat Center 47-45 and Center could have easily been the victor in that game. But we will not find out this year. Maybe next year.
  2. I didn't say anything like that happened in Region III but in Region II it did. I didn't say it would happen in the state tournament and don't figure it will.
  3. Good luck, Silsbee. I hope y'all spank them good and send them packing back to the Dallas area.
  4. But they do refuse to make calls that are obvious, such as traveling, double dribble, fouls, etc. And they also count very quickly sometimes. If you had seen the game you would know what I am talking about. If you think for one second, the refs cannot influence the outcome of a game, in any sport, you are crazy.
  5. I wasn't going to bring this up but since we have gotten this far, I think I will. A woman from Paris who sat close to me during the Argyle- Center game, told me after the Paris-Argyle game that she was standing behind the Argyle bench before the Center game when a ref came up to the Argyle coach and told him not to worry, the refs had this. I have no reason to believe this woman would not be telling the truth about this. Why would she make something like that up? Now you read between the lines oldschool2.
  6. I was at the regional tournament in Commerce and I can tell you that Argyle was in no way the best team in the tournament. If it had not been for the Dallas chapter of refs, Center would have beaten them maybe by double digits. Watch #5 push off every time he dribbles with someone on him. I watched it happen in two games and it never got called. Granted, they took Paris out of their game and would have probably beaten them without the refs, but they could not have beaten Center without their help. Hope you have good refs in the state tournament. Good luck.
  7. I would have liked to have seen the Center- Jasper game with all of Center's starters there. As you know Center lost a starter several weeks ago and Jasper only beat Center by 3 in Jasper with the refs helping them.
  8. I talked to his mother yesterday and she said he is in good spirits but having a few side effects from the treatments. It was caught before it got into his bone marrow so it can be treated. But keep him in your prayers.
  9. If they played all their games at home the sky would be the limit. It's hard to overcome all the shenanigans that go on in the Jasper gym.
  10. Center is sitting in good shape to take the district championship. The remaining games are at home. Way to go Riders.
  11. I talked to his father tonight and he said they found it before it got to his bone marrow so that is good news but he has the flu so that is a little bit of a setback. Continue to pray for him.
  12. Thanks Jasper. That puts Center 1 game ahead of Hudson. But don't forget you have to come to Center still and we haven't forgotten the way the game in Jasper went ( bad calls and scorekeeper shinanigans) so get ready.
  13. Center wins 64-49 to stay in 1st place in 18 3A. They have played inspired basketball the last two games.
  14. Center is my pick to take 1st place in district, possibly going undefeated in the 2nd half.
  15. Center Roughriders win 55-45 in front of a packed Homecoming crowd. This puts Center in 1st place after the first half of district play with only 2 road games the 2nd half.
  16. If you were at the game you know that Center had to play the refs from 2 minutes left in the first half until the final buzzer. It was one of the worst called games I have ever witnessed in high school basketball. Just keep in mind that when you travel 60 miles north on highway 96 it WILL be a different story. I just hope our coach doesn't call off the dogs and beats ya'll just as bad as we can. Your scorekeeper's table personnel even pulled some trickery when they failed to start running the clock in the first half for about 30 seconds and even tried to give ya'll points you did not score.
