1. Who is the head baseball coach now and how is the program?  Does he like it there?
2. How did East Chambers do tonight?
3. How long has Coach Hackney been at Lee?  He must be doing something right if he got GCM tonight when BH could not do it in their last 3 meetings.
4. Congrats BH!  I guess the team is doing okay. The boys must be doing a great job under the new regime. The town must be thrilled!!!!!!
5. Toby Foreman seems to be mentioned everywhere. Sure sounds lime he needs go find a home. Is he peddling his name everywhere?  What is the buzz?
6. Fingeroll with that kind of statement you should be finger in nose. Your granny could win with those 3.  3 kids do not win games and McDonald was hurt most of the time. I saw them play and it was due to great coaching and good discipline that guided Valastro's teams. Howard could not spell discipline. Hang your hat on that guy. He has been fired/replaced at more jobs than probably any coach in the state.
7. Whoever gets the job will have a long way to go to pass what Coach Valastro has done there. He not only has raised the level of play there beyond his predecessors but has built even better men. The biggest competition the next coach will have is the team real close. The basketball team.
8. The Texas High job is intriguing, but IMO, Coach T cannot hold on for too many years at WOS.  If Foreman can stay in the area, then he would be able to jump back to WOS when Thompson retires.  In the meantime, EC gets a good young mind who will advance their program to greater heights than it has now!  And dont' fire back with the argument that "we don't want a coach who has his eye on another job."  All coaches have their eye on the next rung.  It's just part of the business. How intriguing.  I guess he better win a State Championship then. You cannot do much less and reach new heights..  What a statement.
9. Middle school 7 on 7  ??? ??? ??? What a joke!
10. No animosity here but if he is that good, should have been hired by WOS.  I am not arguing that he does not know football because he sure must if they have been that good for so long. But just saying.
11. The best hire for the EC job would be the current DC Rusty Cauthern.  Nobody else should be considered before him.  I promise you there is not a better coach.
12. Maybe if they didn't think that they were such a basketball mecca and the kids would play it more and not brainwashed into hoops than the program could grow.  Hamshire down the road plays it real well.  You got to want to be good. Kids have to play it and want to!
13. Those of you that voted for Rick Perry are now reaping the rewards.
14. I am sure those guys don't use weights.  Yeah right!!! Baseball guys do largely the same weight exercises as football guys. For everyone person you find that agrees you will always find a malcontent.
15. bird, mchale, and magic could not compete with today's athletes without such training nowadays.  Find someone that has strength and conditioning knowledge and let them develop the program if you do not have a person like that employed which most of us do not.  I have coached every sport except for volleyball and girls track. I have an idea.
16. Lifting weights is an integral part for any sports team to be able to compete year in and year out. Kevin Durants, and other "freaks" of nature come seldom in a lifetime.  Also, a select few players compared to how many playing in the NBA?  I would truly like more statistics on this one.  It is not how much you lift either; rather conditioning/strengthening of the muscle.  It would be nice if in my coaching career I would get an opportunity to coach someone of this magnitude. It just doesn't happen very often. Secondly, scheduling is the main issue of getting things done when you have both boys and girls sports using facilities as well as other sports that are gearing up for their seasons.  Some of the things I have read make sense and some are just plain ludicrous. Lifting weights or participating in an offseason workout on game days are against UIL rules.  We also have an 8 hour rule that has to be followed.  All of these do it after practice statements or in the morning makes me wonder if some of you are following the UIL guidelines?? Head coaches control their sports and AD's control the sports program at that school or district. AD's are to develop the athlete in every sport.  A conditioning program that includes weights, cardio, and skills must be implemented across the board for this to occur.  I have been a head coach for several years and know that in some years this has been the only way we could have competed at all.  These conditioning programs also fosters mental toughness something that has diminished drastically from our high school athletes in the last 5-10 years. I am sure we are making our athletes lift weights to PUMP our ego.  Go figure. Nice try for some of you our there trying to shift the blame.
17. I saw their salary schedule on line for teachers and it did not look like much if that is any indication o possible salary figure.
