  1. They've been keeping it real vanilla for the scrimmages. A lot more plays and formations have been used in practice than what they have shown. I think it was 6 starters didn't even play in the Dobie scrimmage. But I agree, the defense will keep them in the game it's just a matter if the offense will score enough points.
  2. Had to make a change... 22. Hardin
  3. I'm actually hoping Jasper beats WO-S later in the year but as for this game, Lumberton will win this one...
  4. Don't entertain him, he'll get what he is asking for September 15th...
  5. Yea I agree, I didn't want to piss him off by letting him know that I see Nederland, Newton, Crosby and Silsbee all as possible losses.
  6. Well I can promise you one thing, the Wolves will give the Panthers all they have for 4 quarters.
  7. Kubiak Stadium and Parsley Field are the same place.
  8. I thought Central traveled ok on Friday night games but if you say so...
  9. I was wondering about that myself. I'm going up there Thursday to watch the JV game and I will be able to tell more accurately it's size.
  10. Lookin at last years schedule, who did they play worth a hill of beans besides College Station? Beaumont Kelly, Houston Chavez, Bryan Rudder? Come on. They are going to have to make me a believer because I'm rolling with my Timberwolves in this one. Man I have more respect for your brother and LaRavan because of the level of competition they have played against and that they don't play with a hand picked team...
  11. Crosby for sure will be a loss but like you said, you don't have to be undefeated to get to or win state.
  12. If this is who I think it is, I met you at a Beaumont Bulls game last Saturday. Anyway, WO-S has a pretty tough non-district schedule and with that being said, I think they enter district with a 3-3 record with losses to Nederland, Newton and Crosby. But that will prepare them for district and their playoff run. Nobody stays on top forever and I just think it maybe a little too much for the Stangs this year, just my opinion though. But hey, if I'm wrong, I'll come back and face the music...
  13. 1. Beaumont West Brook 2. Port Neches-Groves 3. Joaquin 4. Hughes Springs 5. Galena Park North Shore 6. Beaumont United 7. Deer Park 8. Crosby 9. Friendswood 10. Barbers Hill 11. Vidor 12. 14. Yea I was talking to a coworker about this unique situation. I'm picking the Dogs this coming Friday but of course not the following one...
  15. Soulja, I'm pulling for the Tigers but I just don't see the Huntsman employed referee crew allowing Silsbee to leave town with a W...
  16. You'll be back on here before then...
  17. If Fernandez is taking the snaps, I'm going with Nederland. If he misses due to the sprained knee, WO-S. Either way, this game won't be a blowout or shutout by either team.
  18. Hey, I just look at it as a way to earn some respect early and make people take notice with a win or find out that we need to go back to the drawing board with this thing and reevaluate if it's a blowout loss...
  19. I've been at probably 50% of the practices and both scrimmages, hadn't seen any kids going both ways. The talent and depth is there to have a good season...
  20. Nope, deep enough to not have to do that.
  21. Man, I couldn't agree more about your entire statement. Yep, we have some kids with some offers as well and by the end of the season, I think we will have double of what we have now. Athletes have never been a problem in Beaumont and like you said, our boys are not pampered private school kids. These kids have read the headlines about how they are supposed to get blown out. St. Pius will score but the defense won't make it easy. I feel like our starting 11 on defense is one of the best, led by coordinators Jones and Frank. Like Soulja said, if the offense can sustain drives and score points, we will be right where we need to be come the start of the 4th quarter where I'm hoping our depth can take over.
  22. Now that the scrimmages are just about done for all schools, it's time to get this week 1 thread started. This game is scheduled for a 7pm kickoff, Friday at the Thomas Center. Predictions? I'll give mine Friday morning.
  23. 1 and a half quarters of play, looks like Dobie conceded as United was driving... United 14 Dobie 0
  24. 82 yard TD run by the Timberwolves... United 14 Dobie 0
