I was at the scrimmage and BH ONLY SCORED once against Central and Central Scored once against yall with the sophmore qb in. HF scored once against Central and  central's  qb directed the offense to a scored in 3 or 4 plays and then was pulled for the rest of the night. BH FAN do indeed tell big lies and little truth. I agree they looked more consisitent than anyother team but Central could have looked better if Robert PLAYED more!!!
Hmmmmmmm.  The truth rears its ugly head... Lol
I said 1 to 1 soulja in my first post.  neither one of Central's QB impressed me though. As far as if a game and the difference. The only thing that saved Central was the buzzer because when it sounded BH was deep in Central territory driving. BH also missed a FG as well. If it was the backup against BH, why did they coach put Robert against HF? Why not put him against a 4A team? Don't tell me to avoid injury. Also, Central first D played alot. Anyways good luck to the Jags this yea.
Humm?  ;D

That being said, I heard that Silsbilly looked at their tax base and decided to put up an economy jumbtron, heard it was going to be a 23 inch computer monitor duct taped to the top of their score board.  8) :o ::) ;D
LMMfAO!!!  ;D

 5. ??? I'll be using this scrimmage as a measuring stick for my jags. All I know is, we did pretty good the last time we were picked this low.
 6. This Jag offense will be only as good as Cox's ability to put the right players on the field and his play calling. He's predictable at times and Last season I thought Collier proved he could have been a work horse if given a chance,  :-* Now there's 4 solid running backs to choose from. How will he use them. #2,3,5,25 all seemed promising with #2 having the edge. We know what Robert can do, on the busted play he would have gotten good yards on the defense maybe a TD. Can't wait, very curious.

I think Central and Ozen battle it out for the last spot, or possibly for third/fourth spot. If Central improves their offensive schemes and utilize their talent to their potential, they will get the fourth spot.  Ozen will give them a tough fight. Vidor might or might not be a question mark for the playoffs depending on the first few games of district.  They were definitely playing with a lot of emotion after the passing of their teammate, and that carried them into the playoffs.  We will see if they can keep that momentum going, especially if Central improves.  I voted for them to make it. Ned and PNG should be in the playoffs unless something really wild happens.
I see this Central team making a strong push for the 2nd place in district.  Worst case would be 3rd.  I know I offense needs to improve some, but the defense will be nice.  If you recall, the 2008 team hung their hat on defense and had subpar offense and that marched us 4 rounds deep in the playoffs.  Same thing with last year's Nederland team.  Their offense was subpar, but that defense was nasty.  My point being is that in this district, the main thing you have to be able defend well in this district.  We'll be legit in that department this year.
8.
It was a good dunk, but if your a shot blocker that's going to happen. Look at Hakeem, Mourning, and Ewing. Lebron should stop tweeting!
Yep, Pippen got Ewing, Lil Kevin Johnson got Hakeem, Jordan got Mourning, and Labron got posterized by a teenager in a pick up game. ;D Perkins is getting too much attention for nothing. He's just one of the many Blake will posterize. Kemp did what Blake is doing.
 9. It depends on the situation, the flow of the game. The momentum of the game. if one teams lead has diminished, and a dunk proceeds, well it is the most devastating game changing shot IMO. Throwing it down is a testament to, IYF >:( ;D A three pointer Has an affect, you better come out here. A lay up is just a lay up, yet still can be game changing. Now situations make all these shots have different affects on the flow of that particular game. It depends on what the situation is and how the shot came about. Team one is leading by 10 points. Team 2 is a very athletic team. The big man (team 2)gets a dunk, the crowd goes wild. Team one goes down, makes two crisp passes. The second pass is to a open number two guard. He sinks the three. Crowd is silenced for team two. Team one crowd going crazy again. Ok another scenario, Team ones been leading the whole game. In the fourth, team two ties it up. Team one goes down to set up their offense. The jump shot is missed. Team two goes down, passes the ball around. The forward finds and opening. He drives and flushes on team one's big man, this gives team two a two point lead, and momentum. Ok let's say the forward laid it in. Still, in that situation it's game changing. The crowd still erupts. But i must say, to be dunked on is depleting. it is the most humiliating feeling a basketball player can have. it don't feel good. Especially if the crowd's going crazy, and your team mates are laughing and pointing at you with the gesture, YOU GOT OWNED !!! It depends on the situation.
 10. Gray will light it up again. He's at another level.

I wonder if this act was provoked? I just saying. ??? ???
Oh ok, stephenville had broken Aledo's winning streak. I knew there was some incentive involved. This is a classy kid.

For me it would have to be the 2009 Central Team that only went three rounds and end up getting blown out by Friendswood..I feel we should have did better mainly On Defense..Also our Offense really didnt show as much as they should.. Also our 2003 team who had the game won against Bay City in the 3rd round but let it slip through our hands..That team had arguably the best Defense to come through SETX lead by LB David Dixion and Anthony Collins Honarable Mention 2010 team, that lost to Humble, that team had alot of Hype but only manage to go 2rounds
David Dixon graduated in 2003.  He didn't play on the 2003 football team...  That team featured Jordy Matherson, Mike Feacher, the RB, Ivory 'Chopper' Williams and Anthony Collins.  I'd have to give an Over achiever and under achiever.  Over have to go to the 2008 team.  Under is probably the 2007 team that missed the playoffs.  We were loaded and had 2 blue chippers that were Brothers (Derrick Hall (Navorro and Tulsa) and Charlie Thomas (Texas A&M).
The most underachieved team had to have been the Jags very first team. The first year of existence. They were loaded with players from the French state team and BCP playoff team the year before. Went down to WB. Was knocked out of the playoffs. Was ranked #1 in the state at the beginning of the season and rightfully so. They were loaded with division 1 talent.
 17.
I noticed that this is the first Central game this season where there were complaints about coaches.  I think that a coach should be judged on a season or seasons rather than a single game.  Needless to say, it wouldnt have made much sense to complain about Sutherlands coaching when he lost back to back games against Central and Nederland last year and two games to Silsbee in the district race.  The detractors would have had to eat some crow when they followed the Hawks to the regional tournament for the fifth consecutive year.  I can tell you every  Monday morning which passes the quarterback shouldnt have thrown on Sunday- but of course I didnt have 5 or 6 300 pound linemen about to try to break my neck.
Well as I stated earlier, I've been MIA from HS basketball for about 6 yrs. and with my first game back, It stood out like a sore thumb.
 18.
Now, this could get interesting.  Ozen is still playing football.  We don't know if thOzen will be getting their football players back or not.  Ozen's best player or players play football, so the results of this one can hinge.  Will Ozen lose in football?  If they lose, will the football playrrs be conditioned enough to be their regular selves on the court?  I don't know.  What I DO know is that Ozen just lost in Double OT to a team that they beat by 20 last week.  Also, Silsbee have been playing lights out.
i watched the first half of the ozen game and ozen made a lot of mistakes. Totally different from the Boute days. That was the last time I saw ozen. They have good size even without the football players. Boute would do wonders with that team.

No Timouts being called or nothing. We expect a dep playoff run and we're not even competing with a 3a school. I know H-J is good, but geesh, show some fire and urgency. Lets see what we'll do in the second half.
A 3-A school. Sorry, but Central should be ashamed!
You have to look at the team and not the classification....There's 1A schools out there that can beat a lot of 3A's......but Dove, I cant help but think nash is behind this some how...
Put it this way, those Hj players can play with any 4 or 5a school in this area. They are well coached. Those kids stay within the game. i watched all three games and Hj and Silsbee has good sound coaches. Two 3a teams that can compete with any 4a or 5a  team in this area.
 20.
We played H-J last year and #10 for them got probably the same amound of dunks.  I don't buy into that Dunk meter stuff.  I'm sorry.  Call me old school or whatever.  You dunk, and iLll beat you with a smooth layup or an open 3.  I bet the crowd or those excited players will sit down fast.  I do admit that our coach should have been more invilved or 'animated.  (see coach Travis Williams from Memorial). I do think we need timeouts when we have multiple turnovers that lead to multiple points.  I do think our best players need to be put in great positions to create havock on opposing teams.  I do see that #25 G. Mitchell is a good player and great athlete that can very well be another weapon if used correctly. Also, I think this team is good enoug to win our district.  This H-J team beat our defending district champs by 30. We do have one of the tallest teams from an average standpoint that I've seen in like a decade.  If we can find a really good guard and a few more shooters, we'll be ok.
In the situation we were in, the crossover on #20 made him put his head down. he answered with a flush of his own but, the damage was done. If he had more of a supporting cast as HJ's #10 he'd have responded better. I've played ball and it does something to you if you don't settle down. Now, how do you settle down? Keep your focus. Keep the course if you are having some success, something we were not having. Technically we are not sound. Our interior players aren't drilled on block outs. Our guards play D too straight up. No reason #12 wasn't pick by our guards. They stand straight up on D. They move side to side barely bending their knees. Good technic is bend knees, slap floor stay low. Shorter quicker players should win lower battles. you swipe enough balls it changes the way they play. We never contested their dribble. we didn't block out. We didn't hit open shots. Some of our shots were rushed. #25 was the only player that kept his composer. Every one else even #20 lost their heads. #24 has a ton of potential, but. Our guards could be awesome but. #20 could have been a thorn for HJ, but. I've watched a lot of basketball, and a dunk changes games at this level quicker than any other level. It does i must say depend on the coach being able to man and motivate his team. Make them understand those dunks are only worth two points. You gotta call a time out and calm the youngster if they look like deer staring in headlights as we were a few times. #20 gotta get off to make the jags go. Central has to hit those open shot and free throws. My jags need work.
