Congrats Panthers ,two way tie for 1st got w right missed point spread.

Matter to difference son I have yet to  see a 40-0 softball game but plenty times 95 or more point wins in girls basketball.By the way it's called basketball not softball and I am done with this subject hopefully you can get over it.

Exactaly, coach must have lit a fire under them,guarantee you next Ozen game won't be by  95.

Depends on who is getting beat,both would make me realize I have to get my team more prepared to be able to compete.I have been on the losing side or lopsided,ridiculousness,what ever you want to call it, I use that as a motivational tool for the players to work harder,year round to get to the other team level.

In softball you get run ruled ,impossible to win 40-0 but Ozen and Central have been run ruled 15-0 by the likes of PNG,Nederland,LCMS,and other teams as well, after you get beat so badly you either get better or you quit.Don't take me wrong, I am not advocating running the score up in any sport ,but don't pretend the score is not lopsided in other sports because they are.

Not true Dickie V., of all the players named only 2 were of the 2001 Senior class Mike T .walked on at Lee College and yes Brandon did attend Kansas with a FOOTBALL scholarship the other 5 Seniors of 2001 got nothing.

Let me add, off of the team that went 36-0 to win state ,not one of the seniors on that team got a scholarship ,focus was on one player we all know who that is. ;) ;) ;)

I have to agree with Nash on that ,the team Boutte had that won state in 2001 had been playing together since they were in elementary ,after that year they depended on Perk and KT .wasn't the same team since those years ,yes the talent is pretty much spread around.

IF coach English was coaching Ozen or Central programs ,and did not win district or make the playoffs would that make him a falure ,probably not . The expectations are higher in Beaumont it's all about wins and losses see Exhibit A Football.

Yes he has ,but the ultimate goal is to win championships and maybe that's coming and I am sure coach English would say the same.

Not trying to knock coach English and his accomplishments, but when will he add a state appearance more or less a state championship to his accomplishments. With all the praise he get on this site you would think colleges would be knocking his door down.

Ozen finest is very critical of Saveat as a coach,  I am interested to know what he would have done as coach for Ozen against Central that he did not do to try and win the game.

Good post stroker ,one thing you hate to hear is some one making excuses for a lost, as you said make adjustements ,put theam on the line, but don't cry after you let time run out and let a team hold the ball for two minutes.I am an Ozen supporter, and don't care for teams to hold the ball myself ,but it is called strategy.Vidor is a much improved team, and presents a good challenge, look forward to going to their next game against Ozen.

Both ,Jared hit some clutch 3s and Jordon had a good game all around.

Good point blue ,chemistry was part of the problem but Central was the better team last night. But I am going to go out on a limb and say, next time they play Ozen will come out the winner.Based on what I say ,Ozen waited 2 quarters b/4 they realized they were in a game.

You are right blue ,we had the same discussion last year this time, about Central coach.But since Central is winning so far this year, you don't hear nothing about firing the coach.People tend to judge by wins and losses,but if you know any thing about any sports ,you make adjustments based on the other team and try to improve.I watched Ozen boys play this weekend they lack a big man,once they get all their players they will be fine.I don't pay much attention to coach bashing, because when you win such as Central is doing thus far it shuts the nay sayers mouths.

I agree as well, we tend to sit in the stands and cast judgment ,criticize  ,but I don't recall this forum blowing up with praise for the coach when they made it deep I into playoffs last year.How about we let players-play, coaches-coach, and spectators-spectate.It's not how you start ,but how you finish that defines a person.

Give me a guard that can push it up the floor ,and set up the play or be a play maker.Do not need a post player looking for the ball in the paint near as much.
