1. You are right, they all count towards team foul count.
 2. Prayers from all of us in the mid-county area! Grey was one of my favorite players on the court. Always had a great attitude, worked hard and truley loved the game. Such a tragic loss. I will miss him.
 3. Thanks, Teamfirst for such a good post.Believe me you are sooooooooo correct and people need to remember it is for the kids!
Nederland doesn't have a staff;  They get whichever football coach Neuman decides will do basketball.  This is not to demean the assistants, I respect them and enjoyed my sons playing for them.   English doesn't get even one assistant until football is out of playoffs.  Coach E has to coach Freshman, JV, and Varsity usually through November and sometimes into December.  I don't know how he doesn't burn out.  No other sport in Nederland has to do without assistants the way basketball does.
Same thing at PNG. The middle school doesn't even get to practice Bball during regular athletics only before and after school.
 5. With a program as good as Nederlands basketball, we have people whining about the assitant coaching? Give me a break! The same situation happens at all " football " schools. The assistants at PNG are both football coaches but they and Coach Abel do a good job IMO. Heck at PNG the middle school basketball teams don't even get to practice basketball during regular athletics periods due to having off season football workouts. People at Nederland need to consider themselves very fortunate to have Coach English and his program.
 6. K.Smith went to Pt. Neches middle school before going to Nederland.
I have watched 20+ games this year and over all the officiating has been pretty good. I have only seen 3 games that were call bad, and in those games there was only one guy out of the three that was bad. The only bad thing about that is that two of the bad games were call bad by the same guy. I just wish that there was someone in charge of the officals that you could send film too were bad call were made. Maybe if the guys could look at the calls they got wrong he would make the right call the next time. And I know that there is no way that anyone will get the call right evertime, but right now the games are just warmups for dist. so just hope that the officals are getting better ,like the teams.
Even the best refs make mistakes and just like teams and coaches they have some bad games. Believe me they look at game films and the ones that care are always trying to do better. If someone has never been out on the court and called theirself they really dont have a clue how hard it can be.
