1. Just as I posted that, he called me and said he had a voicemail from the Henderson State coach...we will see how this goes. I will let you know when makes a for sure decision of course! oh and thanks for asking :) also, Texas Lutheran offered another falcon...Austin Potter a spot for 2011 as well.
2.
Where is your brother going to shool?
Right now a few schools are interested, but he is keeping his options open. He has received a few solid offers, but I don't think it's what he wants. Texas Lutheran has offered has guaranteed him playing time as a freshman in the fall, but they are d3. Northeastern (LA), Lamar, Tarelton State are also very interested. The A&M receiver coach asked for his highlight film the other day, but that is a long shot I'm sure... Cross your fingers for him! I'm hoping for the best and I just want him to be happy wherever he ends up!
3.
Falconfantic is correct in how they vote for all state.  It is up to the coaches to summit the stats each week.  If a school or coach does not summit stats and that happens a lot at smaller division schools players don't really get mentioned a lot.  Not the best system in the world, but the only one they have.
yeah, i mean when you look at the stats, most of these players are very deserving. i mean, there might be a little bit of bias in where the players were placed on the list, but that is just what happens when certain teams are consistently talked about in the press and the press is voting and when players are signed to D-1 schools. however, none of that should take away from the acomplishments of those players. that said, atleast there was quite a bit more variety in the list when it came to the honorable mentions and i was very impressed (actually quite surprised) with some of the selections ---given the lack of press coverage some schools and players on the list received throughout the season.
4. i definitely will if i come across anything. right now he has a for sure offer, but it is d3..great education, but it's expensive and not exactly what he's looking for as far a football program. we are still holding out for a few d2 coaches  who called a few days ago and a couple of d1-AA coaches that seem to be on the fence.
5. I'm currently helping my brother through his recruiting process and I feel the same way you do about the coaches, education coming first and the whole deal. it's a difficult and lengthy process, but it will be worth it in the end. best of luck to yall!
6.

HUFFMAN HARGRAVE PLAYERS: Cole DeBerry- Honorable Mention Anchor Ebanks- 2nd Team John Hansard- 2nd Team Nathan Schwertner- 2nd Team Matt Simpson- 1st Team Harvinder Singh- 2nd Team Joel Witwer- Honorable Mention
What happen to C Martin? He is a straight A kid.  ???
my brother said a lot of the guys who make excellent grades didn't show up on the list, he was surprised. he also mentioned that anchor ebanks is either ranked 1 or 2 in their senior class and only made the 2nd team...so maybe it was really hard this year to make the cut because their were just so many nominees or something like that? not sure, but still glad to see huffman had such good representation!
7.
First of all, ced was not even double teamed by us, secondly, if you knew anything about football, you would know that you can only get so much from stats, PARTICULARLY IN A WEAK DISTRICT(not including huffman of course). I don't why it doesn't make sense to you, that if somebody is really deserving of FIRST team all state, why the voter's should take into account his performance against other d-1 talent(not rb's, linemen). If I was really trying to bash, then I would say ford doesn't deserve it based on his SECOND game against us, but I know he's been big in plenty of games against quality opponents THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, yes, even including the playoffs. It's just this particular one that I don't understand. Also I don't care is my posts are making you mad, after seeing plenty of just stupid and idiotic posts by MANY huffman fans including you, I don't think there's much respect to be had for huffman fans either.(the ones that are on this site)
if i know anything about football? excuse me sir? don't make accusations like that, it's a little shallow. i know you can only get so much from stats, however, stats were the simplest method i had to go by and the easiest comparision, so it's what i used. the point i was trying to make was that there are good players at other schools besides coldpsrings and i made that point, whether you are willing to accept it or not. and i know you dont care about what you post and had you and other posters like you from coldsprings not been so cruel and bias, my posts wouldn't have been so "iditoic" as you put it. either way, i'm done trying to prove my point to you. i repsect the players from coldspring, i respect their acheivments and i support them in the playoffs because they clearly deserve it, however i do not support the bashing of other players from fans. period. i think it's messed up to rag on a player just because they don't play for your school...so what? you want us to support coldsprings but you can't support our guys? seems a little hypocritical to me!
8.
All-State is a little overrated. Congrats to those who made it, just confuses me how some kids get on it and are not even the best at the position they play on their own team. Too many deserving kids to mention on a list, I believe a lot of the names are due to committments to play in college ball and some I don't know how it's possible to get honorable mention. I know I sound like I am bashing the kids but I have no kid in the hunt just watch a lot of area ball and the team I watch got a kid on here and he is the worst one on that side of the ball. Just makes me wonder how they even make these selections.
who are you referring to? who don't you understand in setx that doesn't deserve their honorable mention..message me, if you are not comfortable saying it, but you brought it up, and i'd really really like to know.
9. i appreciate everyone's input and as for the coldsprings fans who have been nothing but nice or quiet, i give you my full support and hope the best for your players and i believe you would do the same if huffman were still in the play-offs. yall are in another bracket than us and i know that my brother and his friends are nothing but proud to have played against yall and be getting a little recongition for our district with coldspring going to the final! hopefully now our district won't be considered so "weak" and our teams will get ranked a little bit earlier in the season, rather than getting this last minute attention as it seems coldsprings is getting. anyway, congrats to all the players from the district on the all-state list, what an awesome honor and a great way to showcase the talent in district 22-3A! and i hope to see a fair representation on the all-district list, because i agree that just because a player doesn't have the most winning football program, doesn't mean they are not talented and skilled at their position.
10. associated press sports editors, i'm not sure when they vote, i just know the list was released this morning.
11. i don't wish for coldsprings to lose because i don't want to take anything away from the players and their individual accomplishments. however, i am so offended at the things that have been said by coldsprings fans about other players in the district and it is hard for me to support the team because of that, but the players have done nothing wrong and they deserve respect. just like my brother and his fellow players at huffman deserve the respect of other teams and their fans...
12. oh CHS11, i've seriously had enough. quite frankly who really cares what he did in the game against the all-mighty coldspring--if he had a good season and the stats to prove it. i'm so over you bashing everyone who doesn't wear a coldsprings trojan jersey. other players are deserving, its called ALL-STATE...as in they are awarding players from all over the state, not just those that are on a team who is still in the play-offs or that according to you are the most deserving, the most athletic and better than all the rest. i can give you several players at the same position as your teams players that have better stats and could start on the coldspring team no problem. but i will not take away from an individual player and their accomplishments. i think its pathetic, they are high school boys giving it their all, back off and GET OVER IT... you are giving your team a bad rep.
13. HUFFMAN HARGRAVE PLAYERS: Cole DeBerry- Honorable Mention Anchor Ebanks- 2nd Team John Hansard- 2nd Team Nathan Schwertner- 2nd Team Matt Simpson- 1st Team Harvinder Singh- 2nd Team Joel Witwer- Honorable Mention
14. and once again coldspring people are continuing to put down other teams' players while boosting their own. yes, you have a good team, yes you beat huffman...WE KNOW. but there are plenty of HUFFMAN PLAYERS and players from other teams in this district that are AS GOOD AS IF NOT BETTER THAN players from coldspring. congrats to you and your success in the playoffs but do not call out our "MVP's" for their performances, that isn't right. and just by the way, have you seen the ALL-STATE LIST? 3 HUFFMAN PLAYERS AND 4 COLDSPRINGS PLAYERS received honorable mentions... but  i didn't happen to see a coldspring wide receiver on the list but riley julian was on there, yettt you say that a huffman player couldn't play any position on your amazing team? same goes with quarterbacks, cole deberry made the list. austin potter did as well. in all seriousness though, congrats to ALL players who made the list, well deserved!!
15.
Given the format, wouldn't coaches just vote for whomever "hurt" them the most?  If I'm from Cleveland, I know that Edwards rushed for over 300 yds...Cummings didn't...DeBerry passed at will all night including late in the fourth quarter (sore subject).  I also know that Edwards ran the ball for four quarters, Cummings didn't rush much or at all in the fourth. Does this play into my decision or should I cast my vote to the Dist. Champ?  Also, wondering if there is only one MVP?  Do they do offensive MVP...defensive MVP...etc??
Why is DeBerry passing the ball in the fourth quarter a "sore subject"?
16. The Huffman boys always meet at midfield and do a tight team huddle and get fired up it's been their team tradition, atleast this season and I see nothing wrong with it at all, it is in no way unsportsman like behavior.... They are demonstrating team unity and showing that they came to play. No respect should be lost for that.
17. RB- Cummings, Coldspring. Really impressed me.
18. and if you can't tell by the way i speak, I am a SHE.
19. I agree. The game was closer than the scored showed. And overall it was a pretty fair game in the end. I am so proud of the Huffman boys for the way they played this season. And I am so proud of my little brother and his beyond amazing showing his senior season. His catches last night were outstanding and I'm happy for that atleast. Way to go huffman, good season. And good luck to Navasota!
20. Unforunately the Huffman season is now over. But I am so proud of all the boys and the coaching staff the an amazing hard fought season. The game was closer than the score showed and they played their hearts out on that field. And now I would like to explain why I've been so die hard for Huffman and so defensive.... my little brother is on the team (RILEY JULIAN, WR, #6 )and I've chose not to disclose that until now because I didn't want people to cover up or sugar coat what they would say because they knew that. But anyway, I am SO SO SO extremely proud of him for his performance last night and can't wait to see what the future holds for him and all of the other seniors, as well as the underclassmen next year. great season boys, hold your heads high!!!
21.
It will be a hard fought game, they will play until the final whistle and one of them will come out victorious.. Maybe Huffman, Maybe Navasota either way each school & town should be proud of there team not matter the outcome.
I agree 100%. I'm so proud of the Huffman boys, as I'm sure Navasota is of their boys. And as far as some other comments go, I don't think it's right to say that Navasota has better athletes, especially if you haven't really looked at the Huffman team very closely. I have been very discrete about who I am and who I may or may not be related to, but I've taken alot of offense when their are remarks made that insult the Huffman players and their ablities and skills. Many of them are just as deserving, hardworking and talented as alot of the boys from these highly ranked schools. I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud of your players and brag about them, just don't insult someone else in the process.
22. i think that huffman deserves the support from everyone in town, just putting that out there. and the defense is good and they can step it up, its just a matter of if they will when they need to. and as far as MAXPREPS STATS...they are accurate. atleast for huffman, i have the official huffman stats in my hands right now and they are 100 percent correct.
23. if you fools haven't noticed.... i've stopped the stuff about the huffman-coldspring game. i'm over it. you win. cool. now back off of us and leave it be because you haven't been perfectly innocent either.
24. and chs11, we are over the fact that you beat us in an unfair game and cool you are district champs, district is OVER. now go do your thing, we are  busy doing ours... GO FALCONS!
