EC and Newton taking turns making big plays.  Tied 28-28

Come on Anahuac. Your neighbors are pulling for you.

Is LCM really this good.  After what i have seen from them this season they could challenge for the district title.

I would like to personally send my heart felt condolensenses to the players and to the community for their loss.  God Bless you Coach Barbay and good luck to the Newton Eagles.

Hard fought game by the coogs.  didnt expect that close of a game.  I am not saying Newton is struggling this year, they are just not as dominant as they have been.  Good Luck to both teams.  Cant wait to see EC/Newton and EC/Buna.

EC's QB is going to have to be 100% for them to have a chance at making the playoffs. Hank Jones is one heck of an athlete, and  i think the offense feeds off of him.  I dont see EC winning district.  It will be a toss up between Anahuac and Newton.  From what i've seen on Anahuac they will be tough to beat. would love to see Newton get knocked down a notch.

Final Kelly 51-28 over EC.

Just saw update on the news, Kelly 42-21 in the 4th

I read somewhere that EC's QB Matt Jones is being recruited by Baylor, UTEP, and a couple of ther D1 schools.

lets play nice now. it's just a non district game.  OF won, EC lost. Lets get ready for next week and forget about this one.

gotta give OF credit.  Good game cats.  Good luck the rest of the year.

Either OF came to play or EC not as good as expected.  I am not at game. can someone give an unbiased opinion.
I think I'm still kind of young, but in HS 88-92 Coach Hentschel at WB would make us do a Buckner run at the end of the day (1 1/2 miles)during two a days with all the pads on. We would then do 10-6-4's (10 100 yrd sprints, 6-60yrd, and 4-40 yrd, there and back was one)I lost alot of puke during HS football ;D Do they even do bull in the ring anymore. They use to not do it in weight class either, and at the Brook we had several 300lb linemen. I thought it was pretty tough in my day, but guys older then me had it even harder. I don't think kids now days are tougher, but for sure more exciting due to the change in offenses. With that being said, I would put our HS QB James Brown up against any of the newer QB's in the area, and our linemen would crush these kids nowdays. ANyways our days are past, and I get excited to watch these kids nowdays, and I have 3 boys I get to watch with the youngest being 3. I have alot of football to go ;D
We did something similar to a buckner run at East Chambers back in the early 90's, only it was a mile run.  We never did the 10-6-4's but we did do the 10- 100 yrd sprints, or 20 50 yard sprints for time.  Oh how i dreaded bull in the ring.  I wasnt one of the biggest guys on the team, but i took my licks and kept on tickin.  I sure miss those days.

Jerseys look real nice.

what happened to EC and Woodville?

Should make for an interesting year in this district. let the trash talking begin.

Cmon people, who cares where and how the food is given to the team, and whether it is legal or not. IT IS JUST FOOD.  Congrats Kville on a fine season.  Way to represent what i consider SE Texas.

nice post kevnasty.

stats were alot closer than the score was.  Thought for sure Dfield had more yards than that.  That KoKo kid was a beast.  Congrats Dfield and Conratulations to my ECC Buccaneers, you proved all the naysayers wrong.  Looking forward to another exciting season next year.

congrats Bucs on a great season, No EC team has made it to the 3rd round. Awesome season.

hey newton just scored 32 on EC, Dfield doubled that figure.
