  1. At this point anyone can be beaten ! WHOEVER, WANTS THIS DISTRICT TITLE BETTER COME TO PLAY ! My predictions remain the same ! LCM OZEN PNG CENTRAL / NEDERLAND/ LUMBERTON
  2. I predicted in one of my previous comments, that both Ozen and Central would get their first wins this past week. Ozen's passing game will pose a problem for the Jags. If the running game improves, look out it could be an Offensive Explosion. However,Ozen must control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The defense needs to corral Hurd the same way the did K. Duckworth in the Houston Sterling game. Hurd is a legitimate Running Back with great breakaway speed. They must also pressure the young QB # 12 and play tight coverage on # 3 their receiver,he is a threat. He displayed his big play ability by making a great leaping TD catch against Galveston Ball. Sorry Jags,Ozen wins this one ! Final Score Ozen - 42  Central - 21
  3. You're absolutely right Ozen passing game is awesome. Green does a great job of protecting the football. Few, DB's will be able to cover all of the Ozen receivers. They all have the ability, to catch the ball and take it to the house. The running game needs more work, however Sullivan,Jones and Bolton showed they are capable of handling the responsiblity. I agree the defense needs to tackle better and fill the gaps. The secondary gets a B+ from me. Zenn,Brown,Blackman and Bellard are all play makers. LET'S GO PANTHERS, IT'S OUR TIME !
  4. WHOEVER, WANTS THIS DISTRICT TITLE BAD ENOUGH MUST GO IT ! LCM OZEN PNG CENTRAL / NEDERLAND
  5. Absolutely Not ! That's why you play the game and remember to never under-estimate your opponent. Let's see how many # 1 - 10 State Ranked Teams are still playing in December.
  6. Ozen get it's first win of the season. Ozen 35 - Houston Sterling - 12
  7. Houston Sterling depends on their ground game. Their All District running back Duckworth ran for nearly 1500 yards last year. Also they have a couple of excellent DB's that play both ways. If Ozen can contain him, they win this game by 21 points. However, Ozen must pass often to win this contest. They, also need to find a much needed running game prior to district play. A good offense must do both effectively in order to compete and win ball games.
  8. West Brook and PA Memorial are both excellent ball clubs. I can't wait until their Oct 22nd match up. However, don't count Ozen and Central out just yet, they have been well prepared for district play. Both teams will get their 1st win this week. No one in district 20 -4A compares to WB or PA Memorial. Don't be surprise,if both these quads are in the playoffs. Ozen and Central's team speed, if used effectively will surprise a few folks. Great decision by both head coaches to play each other in their first district game on September 24th.
  9. If West Brook's performance is similar to the Ozen game, they will be in for a long night. However, they should get the victory. WB - 21 CEN - 13. The Jags have a lot to prove in this one,but the pressure still remains on # 7 State ranked WB. They could possibly drop out of the top 10 soon, if they don't perform up to their potential and state ranking. That's why you play the game on the field and not on paper. Good luck to both teams !
  10. Absolutely, the Ozen Panthers will make the playoffs. Against WB,they displayed heart and the willingness to compete until the very end. As I indicated prior to the season, don't overlook these kids otherwise you will find yourself on the losing end of the scoreboard. I guarantee, the Panthers will get better and silence all their crictics.
  11. IT'S OUR TIME,THE PANTHERS WILL SHINE ! TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT,THE BRUINS WON'T BITE. OZEN WIN'S A TRILLLER, IN THE INAUGURAL GAME PLAYED @ CARROL A "BUTCH" THOMAS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT CENTER. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS ! SEE YOU THERE !
  12. THE BEST TO COME OUT OF MY SCHOOL INCLUDES : 1. MEL FARR -DETROIT LIONS (RUNNING BACK) 2. WARREN WELLS - OAKLAND RAIDERS (WIDE RECEIVER ) 3. JERRY LEVIAS -HOUSTON OILERS & SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (WIDE RECEIVER)
  13. PNG - BEST OFFENSE (THEIR Q.B. DOTY IS AWESOME ! ) IF THEY CAN REPLACE HARMON AT R.B. WATCH OUT ! CENTRAL - BEST DEFENSE (TOO MUCH SPEED AND AGGRESSION,MY KIND OF "D") DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS !
  14. 1. PNG- Harmon (Tough Runner) 2. The Kid "Jackson" from Livingston (Good Athlete) 3. Central's Dynamic Duo (They both possessed good speed) 4. Vidor's Tadem of (Mr. Inside and Outside) *These kids were all game changers, think back to the Vidor vs. Central game last year, between the two schools they scored over 100 points. Also Harmon from PNG finished the year with nearly 2,000 yards rushing. However, this year watch out for Ozen's ground attack they return both backs from last year Jackson and Sullivan.
  15. It will be a great facility and will provide much needed excitement for both the fans and players. I look forward to the first game of the season on August 27th West Brook vs. Ozen. The turf will provide a fast track for teams with speed.
  16. I agree,no matter how good your Q.B. is you still need to protect him. Without a solid Offensive Line, you won't generate much offense. The same applies for a great Defense,it all starts with the D-Line,no matter how good your D.B.'s are.
  17. I am open for suggestions, but you guy's get my point. This is our year to re-enter post season play. Beware !
  18. Yes,as in Panthers. It's our time,move over !
  19. ALL I AM SIMPLY SAYING IS DON'T UNDER ESTIMATE THE OZEN PANTHERS. THEY WILL COMPETE EVERY GAME,IF YOU FALL ASLEEP ON THESE KIDS. IT'S POSSIBLE YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ON THE LOSING END OF THE SCOREBOARD. THE "P" TRAIN WILL ROLL IN 2010.
  20. My top four picks are as follows: 1. PNG 2. OZEN 3. CENTRAL 4. LCM
  21. Congratulations Jacoby and Tre ! I wish each of you the best in your future endeavors.
