Gerald Landry without a doubt was the best QB ever @ WB ! Who else has won a State Championship @ the Brook ? Don't forget he also lead the 1981 Beaumont Hebert Panthers to the 4-A State Semi-Finals losing to  eventual State Finalist Houston Willowridge. The Willowridge team featured 2007 NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Thurman Thomas who played RB. Thomas intercepted a Gerald Landry pass late in the game to seal the victory for the Eagles. The remaining list of talented WB Quarterbacks include the following and their rank in my opinion: 2. James Brown 3. Chip Ambres 4. Kendrick Bernard 5. Bruce Reyes 6. James Guidry

The Panthers have nothing to lose by going all out against Nederland. If they don't do some things differently in this contest to earn a victory. It will only clarify why Ozen is winless in 20 -4A ! Ozen - 35 Ned - 21

PAM needs to remember next time,that the game is still played on the field. They simply didn't show up for this no contest victory for the WB Bruins. The Bruins were awesome on both sides of the ball ! The kid Harvey is an excellent RB

Coach Dodd got himself into a tough situation and it never worked out for him at North Texas. The High School to College transition is always a difficult task. I agree there will be a lot of Texas High Schools ringing his phone off the hook between now and Christmas. He is a proven winner at that level,whoever gets him their Football program will be immediately elevated to first class and potential State Champs. I wish him well !

The best High School game for me was in 1982. A playoff game held in the Astrodome between Beaumont Westbrook and Houston Memorial. It was 4th and 19 for WB with under 2 minutes left in the game. WB trails Memorial needing a TD to win the contest. QB Gerald Landry drops back to pass and finds, his favorite target Darrell "DC" Colbert for a gain of 21 yards and 1st down inside the Memorial 20 yard line.  With a new set of downs,Coach Durley decides on 1st down to allow his FB Jerry "Ice Box" Ball to carry WB to victory. That's exactly what he did rambling to pay dirt with a 19 yard run. WB wins the game and went on to win the 1982 5-A State Football Championship with a 21-10 victory over Hurst Bell. The second best High School game for me invloved a Coach Durley team as well. It was the 1976 Beaumont Hebert Panthers. The Panthers were in the second round of post season play leading 15-14 late in the game. The Humble Wildcats QB Michael Mosley was a great athlete,but was injured on Humble's last drive deep in Hebert's territory.  The Panther Defense answered the call and stopped Humble's Running Back who was moved to QB on that drive. It was 4th and 2 for the Wildcats and they were driving for the winning score. Final score Hebert 15- Humble -14 That play motivated the Panthers to go on and win the 3-A State Football Championship. They defeated the Gainesville Leopards in Austin,Tx 35- 14

I agree, Arthur Louis was indeed the best Coach in Ozen's school history. Where have those days gone ? The program is suffering and will continue to do so,if they don't get it together soon. Athletes with D-1 potential will transfer to Central and WB respectively, where winning is a tradition and losing is unacceptable. Ozen needs to win out their last three games, just to change the complex of their football program. 3-0 vs 0-3 in the next few weeks will be a lot more impressive. Their Freshman and JV squads have experienced a lot more success this year. If this type of success is to continue,changes must be made. LOSING IS CONTAGIOUS,JUST AS WINNING. It applies to all level of Sports and Life in general.

It's quite simple for the Ozen Panthers this week win or be prepared to collect equipment after Nov 5th. They have too much team speed on Offense to be averaging 14.0 ppg in district. You can't win football games like that, especially when your Defense is giving up 32.0 point ppg in district. Ozen reflects a very confused team so far in District 20-4A. Adjustments need to be made ASAP, if they expect to enter post season play. ! Ozen needs this game BAD ! Ozen 28 - Vidor 17

Ozen needs to get it together quick, with LCM coming to town Friday off a very impressive win over previously undefeated Lumberton. There is no room for mistakes in this contest,if Ozen plays the way they did against Central this one will be over by halftime. Q.B. Hunter Gonzales and the LCM Bears are the Real Deal. That's why they were my original pick to win District 20-4A. Ozen needs to throw more on first down and stay out of 3rd and long situations,this is creating too many 3 downs and out. The QB and Receivers need to protect the football better. You simply can't make those mistakes and expect to win ball games. The running game needs immediate improvement and their defense needs to tackle better and be more consisitent overall against the run and pass. Too many tackles are being made down field by the DB'S. Their secondary also gave up too many big plays against Central. If these things are corrected,then Ozen will find itself in contention for a playoff spot. If not,start preparing for next season. This is a MUST win for the Panthers !  Ozen -35 LCM -31

The Central coaching staff made great adjustments during the second half of the Ozen game. Their defense turned it up a notch in keeping the Panthers off the scoreboard after halftime. Q.B. Robert Mitchell was very impressive both throwing and running the football. Heard rushed for 90 yards in the second alone. GREAT JOB JAG COACHING STAFF MAKING ALL THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO GET THE WIN ! The Jags should be in the mix for the District Title. Therefore, I am predicting a Jag victory over Livingston . Central -28 Livingston - 20 

Coach Neuman and his staff need to get a handle on this problem ASAP ! The young man obviously isn't a Team Player. They need to determine who their Team Players are and dismiss everyone else. If that doesn't happen Nederland will find out that winning football games and Life in general will be very difficult for them to overcome. GOOD LUCK PNG WITH YOUR NEW ADDITION !

2010 WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE COME BACK YEAR OF THE OZEN PANTHERS ! The Offense has improved with Green at QB and his receivers who can run with the best of them. The Offensive LINE is the best,that i have seen in years. However, the running game must continue to improve. Will Sullivan is a BEAST,if Leroy Jackson can find his groove LOOK OUT !  The defense is impressive,however they must do a better job tackling and filling the gaps. Their secondary is good with 5 -6 picks total this year. This overall group has enough talent for the Panthers to re-enter the Playoffs.  GET IT DONE OZEN ,IT'S OUR TIME !

This game will feature the Ford vs. Menard Show ! Both are excellent athletes, should be a good one. However,Kirbyville wins this Showdown. Too much overall talent ! Kirbyville - 35 BC - 20

This one will be interesting. West Brook can't afford mistakes against the Tigers or it will be over early. If WB stays within a TD through the 3rd quarter, i like their chances at defeating the # 3 5-A State Ranked Katy Tigers. However,in the end Katy wins 49 - 28 over the Brook. Should be a sold out crowd for this DANDY ! See you there !
