  1. jeremy havard is correct. yes, i believe that they did have richard whitaker that year. Nederland lost Sumrall in that game after 3 plays. Still led going into 4th quarter, but had a punt hit Aubrey Brisendine in the back that turned the game. Next question... Who was the PN-G QB that started after Dustin Long graduated?
  2. Jeff Hopper was correct scooter and bmtsoulja. The answer to the ring's question is Wiliam Delage. Here's one. Name the southpaw QB for Nederland when Troy Sumrall was the RB and the Dogs were beaten in the playoffs by Jacksonville.
  3. If the Raiders can score 35 a game, then they have a chance. I just know that the D has several holes.
  4. Name the Central Jaguars QB when Leeland McElroy was a senior.
  5. That dude was flawless running the option! Keep us goin' SFA!
  6. I can't think of the name of a QB that was the best local option QB I can remember from this area. He played for LC-M I think the last time they went to the playoffs. What is his name? Whoever answers this please also post another one for someone else to answer! This will be fun and make us put our thinking caps on. Is it Friday yet? LOL
  7. 34-14 Coogs. Too much speed, always a great run D, and corners that can cover 1 on 1 spells doom for a team breaking in the spread.
  8. Would be interesting to see a few IP addresses... 3 in particular.. lol

  10. It'll be fun and good experience for y'all. From what I hear, most of the participants in the Open draw are from Newks. So, y'all may not be the youngest in the draw.
  11. Nederland had a star wideout/corner that was arrested a few years back and he WAS kicked off the team. While we did not like that he was gone, it was probably the right move by Neumann.
  12. Hemmings is the best of the bunch. Wright is unproven and extremely overhyped by a few on this board. Tezeno is pretty quick, but I think durability would be an issue even if he wasn't off the team. I heard he was kicked off the team so it is probably a moot point anyway. I'd run a steady dose of the proven back Hemmings and throw to Matt Johnson and Brett Doty early and oftn.
  13. Cool. Looks like a small tourney. I am playing Men's Open Doubles and Mixed Open Doubles. Good luck to you.
  14. Here's my take on the game. Nederland's run defense looked very good, but our 2ndary needs a lot of work in my opinion. As much criticism as DJ took last week, he completely made up for it tonight. He was a force and by far the best player on the field. Nederland's offense was without Bass tonight and never established much of a running game. Sampere looked good at times especially in the 2nd quarter hooking up with #9 Broussard on several occasions. But, all in all the spread offense tonight produced way too many 3 and outs in my opinion. Part of that is due to not having the starting back, but we need sustained drives to keep the D off the field. We need to improve run blocking for sure. Pass blocking looked okay to me. Also, still having trouble with the shotgun snaps from time to time. You'd think we'd have that down by now. 10-0 at the half. Looked like we were disinterested in the 3rd Q and that is when Jasper looked their best. Their QB made some nice throws and a long TD pass to #18. Jasper RB's ran harder as the game went on. I was very impressed with two of their DB's #15 and #4. #15 locked up all night on Cardenas and did a great job on him. Ned did have 2 INT's though, one by Pina and one by Gutierrez late in the game. Nederlands offensive MVP's tonight-- #15 Sampere, #9 Broussard Nederland's defensive MVP's tonight-- #25 Adrian Pina, #38 Chris Gutierrez, #44 Dravantti Johnson Jasper's MVP's were: the QB and the two DB'S #4 and #15
  15. Maybe those guys were pushing him into the QB because he sure was in the backfield a lot. Ask the Silsbee QB as well as the Silsbee fans. Grogan was #2 in the scrimmage by the way and I thought he was very impressive.
  16. SURPRISED they are moving Grogan around. In my opinion he was the best player on the field for the Nederland defense in the Silsbee scrimmage.
  17. Does this game start at 7 Friday night?
  18. This guy has always had tons of talent. I remember watching him as a soph at QB for the Brook against Nederland. Also, I remember seeing him at WR and RB the last time they beat us at their place. I do not recall him playing much defense back then. But, it is good to hear that he is catching the coaches eyes no matter where he is on the field.
  19. Saturday North Texas SCRIMMAGE NOTES: •During the offense’s fourth possession of the scrimmage, Giovanni Vizza found Korey Washington in the back of the endzone for a 29-yard pass and catch. •Senior defensive lineman Montey Kennerson-Stevenson tallied a sack for the Mean Green defense. Ryan Davenport, a converted defensive end, recorded a sack of his own two possessions later. •Washington caught his second touchdown of the day when he pulled down a pass from Daniel Meager for the 15-yard score. •Meager would again find the endzone several possessions later. This time hooking up with Brandon Jackson on a fade route for the 27-yard touchdown. •Aaron Weathers and Robbie Gordon both picked off a pass in the North Texas secondary. Maurice Holman, a two-time all-conference selection, also recorded an interception from the linebacker position. •The play of the day came when Roderick Johnson caught a ball on his own half of the field, made several shifty moves and sprinted down the sidelines before finally being pulled down inside the 25-yard line. Two plays later, Micah Mosley scampered in from 20 yards out to cap off the drive. [Hidden Content]
