1. BC OF game... Great game ladies....You both showed alot of heart Friday night....I don't understand how a team can go up 16 - 4 and somehow lose the game....But congrat's to BC for fighting back....This was an exciting game.... WOS you ladies have been working hard in off season, now get out there and start winning some games....
2.
Now that I have been called a belittler and dumb, by you, YG2009, it's my turn.  You see, the time missed "a couple of practices" as you put it is a little more significant than you'd have us believe.  You see Orangefield, and every other high school volleyball team in the State of Texas, can't begin two-a-day practices until August 2nd.  Sorry, I didn't dictate that, nor did Mr. Huckabay or Coach Holbrooks, if you have an issue with that you need to take that up with Dr. Odenwald in Austin, I am sure that he would LOVE to hear you views on select vs. high school sports.  Back to the schedule, with the Southern Nationals (which is as I now understand a qualifier tournament, rather than the holy grail as you first portrayed it to be) being scheduled as they are, the ladies in question would miss half of the scheduled two a days PLUS the two scheduled scrimmages in Nederland on the 6th and Vidor on the 7th before the season starts on the 10th.  So the athletic director of the school district has a policy in place that such absenteeism should prevent that lady from being on the volleyball team.  That is unreasonable how?  If you are going to try and paint Coach Huckabay as some unyielding ogre, you had better come with better facts than that! I am not, as you alleged, trying to belittle the efforts on these young women.  That they are driven enough to practice and go to these tournaments are proof enough to me of their drive.  And their attempts to ease the financial burden of their families by "plying their trade" in order to gain valuable college scholarships is beyond admirable. In fact, that they are doing this and dealing with the myopic likes of you qualifies them for sainthood in my eyes!  I hope for all of the sacrifice that this process does open the doors that they are hoping for because with everything they put up with on the field and off of it, the do earnestly deserve it.  However, in attempting to open those doors, no one can reasonably expect the high school to keep certain doors ajar for them.  As loudly as you may shout it, select softball is not the only game in town and to try and paint Coach Huckabay as some sort of devil when he realizes what you wish not to believe is the actual belittling in this matter. And if you have come to this message board to do so, it is you, sir, who are in the wrong place!
GREAT POST WOSGRAD.....Could not agree more!!!!
3. Bleed, what the heck are you wasting your time with that for....some people just don't get it....I bet this has kept you off of FB... ;) Lets all NOT forget, that this is happening in all sports, not just football and not just volleyball....YG from what I have heard you going to have the same problem if your kids play basketball.....I heard through the grapevine that basketball coaches don't allow their players to play on select teams during their season either, even if it doesn't interfer with games, or tournaments or practices....And if your players want to run track during softball, theres a problem there too....So, with that being said, looks like you might have a bigger fight than you thought....
4. What an exciting year of 3A volleyball...I can't wait!!!!
5. Show up for 2 a days like the AD says or don't play, pretty simple...My kid plays softball too, but she'll be there come August 2nd and why is that, her coach worked everything out around their schedule so they could do both....Small minded thinking/policy, really....I personally think when you start a high school sport you give it your all, missing because you have a select game or tournament is not a good excuse....I would like to see the girls stay and play volleyball, but from what i have already read on the other thread they have known since May... I know Aggie finds this hard to believe, but i think it's going to be an exciting year of 3A volleyball and I'd hate for my kid to miss it...Good luck in their decision...
6. I think it's going to be a very exciting year for all of 3A.....From what i have heard every team in this district has been working hard in off season to improve their skills....Good luck to you all and can't wait to watch it unfold..... As for our dear friend Aggie, it takes SKILL AND BRAINS to play this game....that which you must be lacking.... And Bleed, I hope your serious about Orangefield, cause the thought of seeing that team play is EXCITING.... Rizon, where are you???  I used to enjoy reading your post....we can't help it if Aggie is clueless, now can we...... ;D
7. Heard it is raining..Coachs are trying to find another field to play at..so everyone is on standby..

11. Wow, what a great game to watch.  Those Bobcats came ready to play and it looked like they were taking batting practice tonight. Home runs from Statum, Angelle and QEvans, just awesome.  This team is for real and they have worked really hard to get here. Can't wait to make another game. Congrat's to you all and Coach Bennett!!
