1. It has nothing to do with DeKaney's returning talent. DeKaney is an inner city school. Denison is not. As a coach, that means a lot.
 2. results have been emailed to the participating schools.
 3. Maarvin Sr. has been the AD for Alief ISD for the past few years.
 4.
Man, nothing against the coaches, but that's a weak final 5 for a 5A school.  Is it really that bad of a place to coach? So Flannigan is the only head coach to have head coaching experience at 4A or above?  He just left a bad campus with obvious racial tensions on the board. Not to mention people in the area had to have seen his Cougars play Vidor using a pass defense.  Haynes has won a lot of games, but 2A to 5A?????  Really!
Haynes has been a head coach at both 4A and 5A level. Hardin, his home town, was his last stop.

The Bobcats are down right now, but they always seem to pull one out of the hat in the long run.
Yes, Coach Haynes has resigned so the job is open.
Not necessarily..........If they promote from within, they will not open up the job.

So if they can keep their people off the sidelines they really do have a chance to win. Last week when the Sharks traveled here to Evadale, I thought we were in for a good game. They have some good looking athletes and some leadership that has been in their program for many years. When the Shark defense forced a fumble on the Rebels in their first series I was really thinking it was going to be a tough game, but as the game wore on what really got me was how undisciplined the Sharks became. Now I do understand that when the score gets out of hand that things can happen, but it seemed excessive and I was also bothered once late in the 3rd quarter when one of the Sharks ran for a first down and got up and made an NFL-like first down point. The ironic thing was the Rebels were up by 40 something. Not trying to bash anyone, but the old touchdown attage applies, "When you score act like you have been there before". I would say that applies to first downs too. I think it is going to be a close game, but if the Sharks play as undisiplined as they did last week I fear that their playoff drought will continue.
Good points right there, and then you look at the common opponents that each team has played and it doesn't get any better.  Both teams got beat up by Colmesneil, SP took a whooping from WH (HI forfeited that game) and Deweyville (HI cancelled).  Legacy beat both of them pretty good as well.  SP's only bright spot was that it beat O'Connell (HI lost that one).  No telling how the game could go tonight.  One advantage SP has, is that the game is being played in SP.
What is the difference between forfeiting a game, and cancelling a game?  I am just curious. I found your use of these two words interesting, like perhaps you know the difference.

HD just does not dominate folks like they did 30 or so years ago. [glow=red,2,300]They have proven to be below average [/glow] since they last fielded a good team in 1979. They have only won 3 playoff games in the past 32 years.
Making the playoffs every year is not below average TARD. That would be above average since only three teams go. lmao!!  ;D ::)
hmmmm......finishing third in a five team district is above average?

 10. Let's not forget that we are talking about a school where the TRAINER is also the athletic director.
 11.
If i were running the show over there, I would target the OC at Friendswood, Brenham, Dayton, or maybe take a shot in the dark at some of the guys with usual state contenders like Lake Travis or Katy.  But from the way this sounds, this isn't going to be a hire based solely on football.
I used to know another poster, on another board, who used the "Dude" monicker. He became famous during the Can Rebellion of '05.
 12. Ken Hall...........Second team? WOW. He should have been the first offensive player mentioned. His career rushing record will NEVER be broken. Hall's career prep rushing records of 11,232 yards (1950: 569 yd; 1951: 3,160 yd; 1952: 3,458 yd; 1953: 4,045 yd) and 32.9 points per game (1953/12) are still national records. Although he played both QB and RB, he should be listed on the first team.
 13. Sounds like we have someone making a poor effort at emulating the great Willie Wonka.
