Onalaska is right across the lake from Livingston and Trinity is not that far either.
Mainly because they play in a district that we do not consider to be an SETX district.
Thanks that clears up a lot lol

Their defense will take them there. This team is young but polished. As far as district goes, it all depends on the schedule. Whatever happens, its gonna be fun.
If Vidor is fortunate enough to make the playoffs.  I'm pretty sure they won't go past the 2nd round.  IMO, there's six teams in 17-4A alone that would likely beat them.
You said the same thing in football brenhamfan  8)
You're entitled to your opinion, but look at last year, for example....  3 of the last 4 teams in the region were from 17-4A.  That includes the 2 that we're in the regional final.  The proof's in the pudding...
Well if you wanna look at it that way then I can look at it this way. I'm not that big on the history of 17-4A in football but i would guess to the fact that the numbers of 17-4A are bigger after the second round compared to the numbers of 19-4A and 20-4A but this year we took a full sweep on yall. That proves that you can not always rely on the past.  8)
Not always, but of you wanna talk sweeps.  17-4A swept 20-4A last year in baseball.  It was 19-4A & 20-4A that beat 17-4A in football. (2 districts vs 1) Anyways, I'm ready for some baseball!
I'm pretty sure if MW had faced PNG instead of Dayton then the same thing would've happened. You saw how the Dayton PNG game went. Or you can look at it this way the three 17-4A teams that faced 20-4A were beat so it actually was a sweep.  8)
Aren't we talking about baseball on this thread lol?

 13. Honestly I'd like to see the hall hold out one more year so Biggio and Bagwell could go in together, now that would be awesome!
 14. With the HOF ballot coming out January 9 will Houston legend Jeff Bagwell make it in or suffer another lost do to playing in the Steroid Era?
 15. It really depends if livingston stays in 20-4A but if they don't I'd like to scrimmage booker t and Huntsville then play pn-g and vidor

People at work have been saying that were in trouble without him but we have plenty of depth at pitcher and several other positions. There will be some very good players left on the JV this year. 1. Nederland 2. Livingston 3. LCM 4. Vidor
Duplant makes the team better but Nederland would have won without him last year and will be able to win without him this year.  Plenty of pitching....defense will be fine....it will ultimately come down to the bats.  Lost a lot of offense and need to see who steps up and hits varsity pitching.  You are right that there will be lots of good players left on JV which is usual for Nederland, but they need playing time.
Is this just a rumor or is confirmed because I see post like this all the time and its not true?
I don't know if there is truth or not.  I was just responding to the statement that Nederland would be in trouble without him.
This is just from an outsiders perspective and you can take it for what it's worth. If this comes to be true we all know that Duplant would play a vital role in the success of Nederland baseball but I feel that Nederland will have deep enough pitching, play fundamental sound defense and be able to put runs on the board to be able to potentially win district again with or without Duplant in the lineup.

Don't be surprised if they make a run for the title.
I just can't see vidor surprising anybody like they did in football. With all the talent they had last season Livingston was three outs away from sending then home but couldn't close the door.
Yeah and they lost. Sorry man but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Of course Vidor had the better team last year there is no doubt but they lost so many key starters and Vidor didn't have the best sub varsity teams that I just can't see them beating Livngston, Nederland, or LC-M. Vidor could have a good team but I just find it hard to believe.
I see where your coming from but from my point of view our JV team was just a few big bats away from making a big impact on other JV squads. I believe that we definitely have the talent to compete with everyone in 20-4A we just have to gel it and get everything together.
Vidor will have some arms to compete. If they can play defense, will be in the hunt.
Who will be the ace this year for Vidor? Im sure the freshman from last year will pitch a lot more since Hagler and Maxwell will be gone.
You'll find out soon enough.
touche
