Coach Roy Harper of Burkeville Coach Harper is an excellent coach. He is 100% dedicated to helping the children and the sports program. He is a great mentor on and off the field. In the many years, he has coach for Burkeville he has created a tradition of excellence in the sports programs. Even though, the program faced a slump during the time he was gone, he came back with the same winning attitude, the same persistence, and dedication as if he never left. Throughout this year, we at Burkeville has seen a tremendous improvement in our football team. Ive had the experience of watching him coach during practice, to me it's like sitting in a classroom. Coach Harper teaches to children to play with pride and to believe in theirselves. If you don't know anything about the game of football, I guarantee one practice session with Coach Harper and you'll learn alot. Thank you Coach Harper for what you are doing at Burkeville. We bleed BLUE and White!!!

Colmesniel is a good ball club, with a lot of speed, their line is good at opening the hole for the backfield, if Evadale can't plug the holes and contain the ends,it's over for the rebels. All it takes is one break and the those Colmesniel players are in the in endzone or down the field before you blink.. IMO, saturday night was intentional, I think the dogs was just using stragedy, they knew the Rebels were watchin... Think about it would you show all your tricks if you don't have to... All the bulldogs needed was a win, it didn't matter by how much.....

As I said before, this team is very overrated... They will play one round and lose. Evadale has never been a very strong team. These teams are on top at this moment, only because Burkeville has hit a slump as all teams do, and is having to rebuild their program. Burkeville has always been the strongest team in this district, that is proven by 30 + years of back to back district titiles and back to back to playoff spots and 2 out of 3 state championships. Where some Evadale people say " Burkeville is a has been", it has been said that it is always better to have been a "has been" than a "never was."

[/quote] When i said that I was not trashing Evadale's team, I was referring to my very first post, in which I stated my opinion on the question that was ask. In that post I did not trash Evadale's team. However the next two post were simply answering the post that were posted by 83_ alumni and whambulance. And no matter who says what, I have seen Evadale play and I must say I EXPECTED much more from this team, I mean especially from their ranking, the media, and all the hype that surrounds this team. I just didn't see what the fuss was about.......  Again, that's just " my opinion."  There are alot of great ball clubs in South East Texas, these teams bring it every Friday night... what I saw in burkeville that raining friday night was one team, (my beloved mustangs) who could not get it together, offensively.. v/s a mediocre team, who was able to capitalize on our mistakes. So no hard feelings to Evadale.. you did what u were suppose to do.. When, I think about whether a team is overrated or underrated, I think about how that team plays, week after week after, does the team play with that dedication, fire and passion for the game. Do they bring the field and the crowd alive with their plays? Do they have the love for the game? Are they consistent? And probably many of you will answer yes to the questions for your ball club.. I saw the dedication in Evadales team, but that was all that I saw. I'm not taking anything from Evadale's ball club, when I answered the post it was strictly my opinion and not meant to trash anybody's team. After, reading  the post regarding Evadale and West Hardin, u people are saying the same thing I've been saying " Where's the Fire, Rebels"? So again, do I think that Evadale is overrated? my stance is still the same ... yes they are!!!!

You may think this team is not overrated, I happen to think that they are.. That's my opinion... whether Evadale's fans or other people like it or not... Alot people may think alot of things about Burkeville or any other school, and you are entitled to your own opinion. Your opinion doesn't influence anyone one way or the other..it just that "your opinion". chester over high island, #15 and # 20 on chester are very good, coupled with that double reverse play they run, it will be hard for High Island to stop them...

Jeremy's had a great year, no doubt !!! And he is great player... But what about # 2 Ladarius Myers from Burkeville, he's had a great year defensively also.. Just ask the Evadale Rebels!!!
