I think Burkeville has a shot... They are under new leadership and direction and they are looking good..

It's going down.... Tomorrow night in Kirbyville.. Leggett vs Goodrich @ 6pm and Burkeville vs Spurger at 8pm.. The LOSERS will play Friday night at 6pm and the Winner will play at 8pm

Goodrich is a very atheltic team that likes to run the entire night... never really ran a offense, just jump shots to the middle # 5 and #12 and fast break lay ups.. number # 21 hit a few from the outside but #5 is their "big guy". For those who think we from Burkeville is just making excuses about losing.. fyi .. in the girls game against Goodrich.. the refs called literally two fouls all night against Goodrich girls.. Our girls had 16 fouls for the entire game. they also had bruises and scratches. one of our girl players was being choked on the floor and the ref called a jump ball....

As we have learned, a win is win no matter what the margin.

[/quote] I was at the game last night and I don't think anybody tried to sway the game in any direction toward either team. Yes the ref's made some bad calls, both ways , but in the end Burkeville lost that game because they missed about 20 or so easy lay ups.. had they performed in that area the score would have been 80+ to 46.... also Burkeville struggle on Defense and rebounding as well.

Mustangs versus the YellowJackets.... This will be second District game played by these two teams. Burkeville one the first match in 3 game sweep. So the yellowjackets will be seeking revenge.. who will take this one... any predictions?

Between Burkeville and Evadale which team holds the most district champ, regional, quaterfinal, area and state championships in football? Burkeville has had 3 bad seasons in 40 years and you would swear the world was ending.. Every team has to regroup from time to time... So Evadale,Crazy Dave and anyone else.. Show me the champions trophies from Evadale and the State Rings.. or shut up....!!!!!Evadale will have to win alot more games to even compare to the legacy of wins that Burkeville has......

We did this Burkeville for BJ Lewis #7, he didn't pass away during a game, but he passed away in a car accident about a month after graduation. In fact his graduation class is planning a balloon release at the homemcoming game this friday, to mark 7 years since his passing and he wore the #7. He was the quarterback that lead us to state in 2001-2002. We are planning to pay tribute to Reggie as well, as I have forwarded some of these ideals to our school adminstrators and they agree whole heartily.. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Garrett family.  May God be with you always is my pray.
