[/quote].  Nash you took the words right out of my mouth....I would rather go into the playoffs with having lost 3 or 4 games then having zero. It makes a team mentally tough with having the taste of defeat in the regular season.

Should be a good ole fashion barn burner! Two of the best coaches in the area with Coach English from Nederland, and Coach Sutherland from Hardin Jefferson. A basketball tradition like HJ and a program that is on the rise in Nederland! I'll be there front and center to watch what has the makings of being a great game! Nederland-62 HJ-70

A good game by the high flying hawks of Hardin Jefferson....they played a good all around good basketball! That was my first time seeing #3 Johnson play I was very impressed with his preformance last night..It should be a fun year! Good Luck to both teams the rest of the way!!

Kountze vs HJ you can throw everything out the window...this is just like two brothers playing in the backyard they both know what the other one is going to do and when they're going to do it. I'm looking forward to some flying around by both teams it maybe look a little rough at some points but that is expected in the first couple games..........it should be a fun game to watch! No matter what the out come is good luck to both teams the reason of the season!

What is the best dunk yall have seen live at a high school basketball game before?

Hawks vs tigers games are always marked on my calendar......but another one I'm looking forward to is HJ vs central! I think one could be a barn burner!

With most of the team schedules out, my question is what game or games are yall most looking forward to this season??

Free throws win championships......if i remember right in 2010 when HJ made it to the state simi finals they went something like 16 for 30 or some where around those numbers from the free throw line. I still think to this day if they woudl have made atleast 5 more free throws they would have been playing for a state championship that year. IMO free throws are as easy as you want them to be, I've seen players just staright up panic when they get the free throw line. Then I've seen other players get up there like its nothing and sink the biggest two shots of the season....its all about muscle memory

I went to this game, and i know im fixing to get jumped for saying this. But im gunna say it anyways, from hearing all this great stuff about Nederland. How they are one of the best teams in the area, and only a handful of teams can beat them...etc etc....Also for the gym being packed almost wall to wall with people. They didnt impress me all that much,dont get me wrong Ozen played awesome game on the defensive side of the ball and think that was why Nederland couldnt run the O game very well.With all that being said CONGRATS to Nederland to winning the district title, and also winning it two years running. Good luck in the playoffs to both teams. Last nights game was a little clip of what playoff basketball is like .The next few weeks should be very exciting.

About this home fans sitting on the visitor side of the gym. Back in the day when I played high school ball,at home games my parents would always sit on the visitor side. Because they do not like to sit shoulder to shoulder with people. From what im told they had ZERO problems with any of the other fans. As a matter of fact they said they even had small talk with some of the other visiting teams fans. So i dont see any problem with home fans sitting on the visitor side.With that being said, were all adults we should all know how to act at any high school function.

[/quote] That was one game, if the season was all based off that one game then HJ might have some problems. BUT, last time i checked high school basketball teams play more than one game in a season. I've learned in my years of watching this team play, i know those 3 coaches can motivate their players to play at a 150% of every single play of every single game.If a team underestimates HJ they are in for a rude awakening....and by the way it's not history it's tradition.......Best of luck to the Bulldogs for the rest of the season!
