  1. No, if this happened, Dayton would have two L's. One to Central and one to Nederland.
  2. The good thing about only be a fan, and not playing the game, is that you can look forward to any game you want and it has absolutely NO impact on the "next" game. With all the talk of "who will finish third" on this message board and others, I just thought I should add a new perspective to the list. However, I know that it will be VERY tough for Nederland to win out. I'm not counting on it.
  3. It could happen!!! If Nederland wins out and Dayton loses to Central, then Nederland would finish 2nd and Dayton 3rd.
  4. Look out Vidor, you get to face another GREAT running back next week!!!!!
  5. Nederland has the smallest line in the whole district!!! But man are they good!!!! They avg. 214 if you include the TE!!!!!
  6. It would be WAAAAY to expensive to test ALL HS student athletes for Steroids!!!!
  7. I think it is very possible that WOS will shutout Bay City.
  8. Neds roster is MUCH smaller than I can ever remember!! There might be 3-4 players that end up having to play both ways because of injuries. Ned does have a lot of talented starters, but there is a quick drop off after that.
  9. I believe that is Hook's decision to only suit up 24. I'm sure he could pull some up from JV to suit out more????? Or are they not good enough for Varsity?? Nederland is VERY thin on the varsity level this year! Sure, Neumann could bring some kids up, but we're not talking about #'s here, we're talking about talent. Nuemann, just like Hooks, is going to put the best player on the field, no matter if that means some guys playing both ways.
  10. The starters came out with 4:21 left in the 3rd qrt. I remember looking up at the scoreboard and saying to a friend: "Wow, it's been a while since we've been able to take the starters out, much less with 4:21 to go in the 3rd qtr."
  11. Come on, there has to be more than 4 Ozen players on this list!!!!! Is that all you could come up with???
  12. I remember last year when Nederland was looking to find a QB. During the Silsbee scrimmage none of the three potential QBs looked good. But somehow, when it was all said and done, Nederland once again had the 1st team All-District QB.
  13. I still do not think scrimmage scores matter even in a 4 qtr. one. What are scrimmages for?? To find out what works and what needs work. Expamle: If a certain play works several times in a scrimmage, GREAT!!! Most coaches don't keep running it, they move on to something else because they know it WORKS!! However, in a real game they would keep running that play all night until the opposing teams shows that they can stop it!!!
  14. Mosley looked real good at Safety!!! He had a couple of pass break ups and two monster hits!!!!!!
  15. The Nederland line is not big, it's rather small.
  16. It might have to be Ross LeBouve (sp?). He was TB on the 99 team that lost to Texas City. We have never had a RB that was better getting to the outside and turning it up. If I'm not mistaken, he holds the all-time single season rushing record at Nederland.
  17. "Yea because you hate to see good teams sitting at home." That's the attitude that is bringing all of this on!!! What's wrong with having to be the BEST???? Good teams will always sit at home. It happens in ALL sports at ALL levels. Why sould it be any different at in HS football.
  18. I thought Molina played on the OL????
  19. Vidor and Ozen have HUGE offensive lines. Nederland's line will be small, probably averages 220.
  20. I'm not sure that Johnson will even play LB for Nederland this year. He played DE all of last year and from what I'm hearing he will play there again this year. Maybe he is projected as a LB in college?? Here is a link for him: [Hidden Content]
  21. Baddog, what position are you in to question any high school baseball coach. Esp. Nederland's????
  22. Vidor "could have easily beat Nederland"?????? Really???? First off, they did NOT beat Nederland. Second, even if Vidor would have won, it would not have been an EASY win,
  23. I'll go with Stanley from Nederland. As a pitcher, it dosen't get much better than throwing a 1 hit complete game shutout of a #1 team. Pretty impressive!!!
  24. Looks like LCM has their hands full with the 3A's.
