1.
I guess since WOS lost a game they did not hold up to there end for that to happen. someone beat them
Didn't get beat score wise...they won... but the MPR violations caused a forfeit; therefore, a loss on the record
2. anyone have the score for the Ned-blk vs Png-Purple for the Peewee's today?
3.
Thats 50% of whats wrong with people on this board. They say things that are inaccurate or they do not know the allthe facts. Then everyone get stirred up and p-od. If gone souht would not have posted to challenge the previous post, would the truth come out???? I wish eveyone that comments on the youth threads would get involved and then you would be careful what you post
The truth is that it is a rule for my son's youth football team that is part of the STJFL. I apologized for thinking that is was a STJFL rule. Wasn't trying to stir the pot or po people with inaccurate info or for not knowing all the facts. I read it prior to the season and read STJFL as well as WBBIFL; therefore, the fact is I knew it was a rule for our team just didn't remember it wasn't a rule for all teams. Again I apologize.
4. PNG (WHITE) over Vidor Black NED ( BLACK) over PNG (Purple) LUM (WHITE) over Ned (White) WOS over Vidor (Gold)
5.
AllSportsMom, There is no report card check for grades, never has been.  We do check them at the certification to see what school they attend, but that is it. TD, I can say that for the eight years that I ran the scale at every certification and I guarantee you no kid every was allowed to certify if they did not make weight.  I would also be willing to bet that since you are not allowed to weigh and certify your own players that it has not happend in the two years that I was gone.  I have seen numerous kids turned away for 1 pound, also I have seen numerous kids strip to their skivies to make weight.  Do kids gain weight after certification, absolutely just part of it.  It would take too much time and manpower to have weigh-ins through out the season.
Gone South, My bad it wasn't an STJFL rule it was just a Beaumont rule.  How will the no pass/no play rule be enforced? After report cards have been issued, the coach verifies that each player has passing grades. This information will be turned in to WBBIFL. Players shall be suspended from all team activities for a period of one week for any failing grade on the report card effective immediately. The suspended player must provide proof that he has improved the grade within three weeks of the suspension in order to avoid another one week suspension. Read so many thought it was STJFL. My apologies.
6. So you are saying that league officials allow kids to be overwieght? Do you go to all the weight ins? In some cases they aren't necessarily overweight at the weigh-in but could be with-in a week & there are no re-checks (even at playoff time).... I can say that there were alot of PeeWee kids that looked over 90 lbs but maynot have been but it does make you wonder especially when they don't have LO on their helmets as to if they should or did & it came off.... That is just like Report Cards that are suppose to be getting checked for grades... How many actually do it? (Our team didn't) IMO this is just as important and should be done weekly especially prior to playoffs/superbowl (and shouldn't be much effort for students to get weekly & turn-in to the coaches to turn-in to the league). I also think there should be some sort of re-weigh midway or before playoffs/superbowl but I realize this is easier said than done and not real practical.
7. I think everyone is really missing both side of the argument. 1st, there cannot be any seeding until the 1st and 2nd place teams are define, there is not a seeding issue at this time. How do you break a tie within a division? 2nd issue, the document does not say how to do that, however it does show how it is done in the SR division. So it makes sense that the you would use that to get a division winner and runner up. Then you would use the seeding guidelines to seed all teams. Althoug the document is horribly written, it is not that complicated. Play ball, have fun... parents chill Glad we are in school ball. There is a reason that the Sr Division rules are different. The top 4 teams in each division are in the playoffs. There aren't any wildcards as in the Top 2 teams in Jr/Peewee. If it didn't matter then you'd just take the top 8 teams & draw randomly from a hat for the bracket and play. But you & know that wouldn't be right. If seeding didn't matter then it wouldn't exist. Young & old alike all want to be considered at the top. Yes, in some cases at the bottom isn't necessarily at the bottom. I guess it is hard for me to understand when a team that you beat with overall record & head to head has a higher ranking than you have & your the wildcard. Also, hard for me to grasp a team with a loss is the #1 seed over a team that is undefeated. Something is wrong with this picture all around.
8. They only have Flag (Ages 5-7); Junior (Ages 8-10); Senior (Ages 9-12) - Ages overlap for weight restrictions based on age... They have 2 - Districts for Flag w/10tms in 1 & 7 in other; 2 - Districts for Junior w/7tms in 1 & 6 in other; Senior has 9 teams...
9. you lookin at wild card ,but division place comes 1st Wild Card qualifications & tie-breakers will be: this doesn't distinguish between division tie-breakers, wildcard tie-breakers....
10. I do not have anyone in the playoffs but when you have eligibility rules & everyone is monitoring the season based on those rules & then at the end they aren't used then what was the point of having them in the first place. Just make it up as you go along & then no one can contradict. But any team that goes to the playoffs in this league or anywhere the adults, kids, whomever want competitiveness & proper places/seedings. If they are seeded incorrectly & scores don't reflect what you'd expect then there will always be that what if scenario if the teams were seeded correctly. After the WOS - PNG Purple forfeit, someone said that they hoped this didn't affect the playoffs. Well it did.... It affected Ned-White cuz Hd 2 Hd w/o it PNG-P would be 3-2 & WOS 5-0 and this issue wouldn't exist.
11. PNG PURPLE finished 2nd division PEEWEE/JR RULES: Wild Card qualifications & tie-breakers will be: Best overall record Head to head (if teams played) Points allowed Coin toss All 3 are 4-1 in the Division... PNG-P @5-2 OA & the others @ 7-1 OA puts them 3rd in the division NOT 2nd according to the STJFL rules.... That makes them a wildcard with Vidor-Black for #7 & #8 seeds.
12. I agree with you there. Totally wrong that they can't follow their own rules & then it is only in the PEEWEE division where they messed up.... Go figure that!! PEE WEE playoff division is RIGHT Explain why you think that...
13. Well if they are going to stick with that then is Vidor-Black really the #8 Wildcard? It could've possibly been BC or Kountze.... V-Blk was 2-3 & BC/K were 2-2.... Junior: Is Ned-W really the #8 Wildcard? LCM/WOS-Blue/Vidor-W were 3-2 & Ned-W was 2-2....
14. I agree with you there. Totally wrong that they can't follow their own rules & then it is only in the PEEWEE division where they messed up.... Go figure that!!
15. IMO if this wasn't about a good football player no one would have ever mentioned it & whoever the team was would play as normal as if all was well and no one would be missed. The other 2 parties involved were suspended from the game on Friday but they aren't in the public eye so their names aren't mentioned nor the group (band, drill team etc.) that didn't have them at the game. I like others do not know what went down but all the secrecy makes everyone want to know. The fact that the principal can suspend u from a football game but not school & then the school board gets involved about suspension from athletics & continues the suspension due to a tie for the remainder of the school year really doesn't make sense. Most boards have a tie-breaker rule so that this doesn't happen. Never heard of one that didn't. You'd think that either the superintendent should be the decision maker in the event of a tie or the President. News is News... Good or Bad... People want to know... Basically, if there is something you don't want someone to find out about then you'd better think before you do it cuz 9 out of 10 times someone will find out...
16. How does PNG-Purple (2-4) get the 4th place spot in Div 1 over Kountze (4-2)????
17. Your welcome but who knows what they did but surely they will correct it. Juniors: Just did the Juniors & got exactly what they got for them following the same rules. Like I said I do not have a dog in this hunt but rules or rules & it could make a difference.
18. I don't have a dog in this hunt but I was fixing to post this question in the other topic. With the top 2 in each division #1 thru #6 and the Wild Cards #7 & 8 and you follow their rules for wild card or tie-breakers and seeded tie-breakers... there is no way the seedings can be what they have posted. PEEWEE: For tie-breakers if u look at BOA as 1st tie-breaker then between PNG-P, Ned-W & WOS in Div 1 - this puts PNG-P @ 5-2 (as the wildcard w/Vidor-Blk). So, Div 1 now has Ned-W/WOS, Div 2 has PNG-W/Ned-Blk & Div 3 has Lumb-W/Vidor-Gld. For Seeding: Best Div R for Wildcard teams would put PNG-P @#7 & Vidor-Blk @#8 #1 PNG-W (5-0) #2 Lumb-W (4-0) #3,#4 & #5 tie-breaker between 3 teams at 4-1; therefore, u go to Best Overall bet Ned-W (7-1), WOS (7-1) & Ned-Blk (6-1) now u have Ned-Blk @#5. #3&#4 is tie-breaker between 2 teams @ 7-1 overall so then u go to PA... Ned-W (86) WOS (27) #3 WOS (4-1) #4 Ned-W (4-1) #5 Ned-Blk (4-1) #6 Vidor-Gld (3-1) #7 PNG-P (Wildcard) #8 Vidor-Blk (Wildcard) That is what I determined by using their rules unless I'm misinterpreting something but if so maybe someone can explain....
19. Thanks L-Train. The Bmt boys did hang in there and there was a great deal of improvement from Wk #1 to Wk #8. Hopefully, they will stick it out & give it another try next year. There are only 3 - 7 year olds on the PeeWee team so next years PeeWee's will be a pretty new team again. We had fun and that is what matters in the long run. It was frustrating to lose each week but we didn't go scoreless each week so that did help. Good luck to all in the playoffs/Superbowl. I'm sure we will come out & support some teams during the next few weeks.
20. No one saw anything when we played them either. But in some cases they did see it but said it wasn't that obvious so they weren't going to call it....
21. The article in the newspaper today only mentioned the football player and that the incident happened on Monday that was a violation of school policy. The player was not suspended from school but the principal NOT Coach Hooks suspended him from the football game. No mention of other students. So how does a violation of school policy only get you suspended from a football game but not school? Makes no sense to me.
22. If the score was 28-0 when game was called why does it indicate a forfeit for Kountze w/1-0?
23. Does anyone know the score for the Vidor-Gold & BC PeeWee game?
