  1. Blem, Dunlap, Snoddy, Griffith, Humphry are all Seniors not Juniors Ducharme is a Junior not Senior All of which played for LCM
  2. look, i wish Beard well with his knees, its never okay to injure someone when its cheap. But as long as its legal, you wanna hit the guy, you wanna hit him hard, and you want it to hurt. Whether its to get in his head or slow him down, if a guys not 100% then its going to help your team. You never wish major or long term injury on a player, but if hes not on the field, hes not making plays. I wasn't at the game, haven't seen the hit, and have no idea what happened, but physicality and pain are the nature of the game. Linemen are taught to chop block, linebackers and taught to wrap up low. Low Pads win. Knees have pads on them the same as shoulders. When you step on the field, your knees are fair game (inside of the whistles)
  3. that kid that took the cheap shot has anger issues, when he was on JV he busted his head open with his own helmet for messing up on a deep snap. (Ironically that game was against vidor and lcm won 35-0.) The coaches are forced to talk to him off to the side in practice on a daily basis. Hes a good kid, but i really think he needs some form of help to learn to control his temper.
  4. he did lose his spot, but i dont think it was the reason
  5. the soccer team is a good team, they focus on totally different things during the off season, i can say first hand that the Football team goes through the hardest off season though. Gravett quitting is not going to really hurt the team that much, he was one of the better players for sure, but the biggest loss will be in the kicking game. I would say the best players on the team at this time are(in no particular order): 20 Gonzales, 34 Perry, 61 Dunlap, 50 Snoddy, 70 Blem, 44 Griffith, 67 Boaz. 20-QB, DB, P 34- RB, LB? 61-DE (could have sworn I've seen him play some guard) 50-C 70-T, DE 44-LB,RB,WR? 67-G,DE,LB I see these players play hard and well every game and never quit, I've heard the senior from that group are doing a very good job of leading their teammates through these tough times. I believe if LCM can restock their O-Line, that in the next couple years they can seriously compete, the young guys are really learning some lessons about Varsity football and handling adversity. I really hope LCM can pull together and at least squeak out one W this year.
  6. i remember when he was on JV and LCM played them, he had a corner that was 5'6 maybe on him, and didnt have a catch all night, LCM won that game and went on to be 6-3 on jv. hes not really that special as a football player, but he is a great basketball player, i remember seeing him dunk over an LCM basketball player in a FRESHMAN game!
  7. the final score was 50-24 LCM scored a td on a long drive, then ran a fake punt about 60 yards for a score and ran a kickoff back, with livingston busting a long run as well
  8. The problem does not solely lie with "unnamed coach" it lies with the attitude of the school and the community, no coach will ever change things as long as the community and schools attitude remains the same. Moody is dealing with the same problems that ultimately moved DW to retire. As far as inspirational leaders go, i know of a small core group of players that can be counted on to play hard every snap and try to get everyone else on their level. Skipper said earlier that LCM was very poor at blocking, i dont agree with that to an extent, i've seen the line open up huge holes, its the lead backs and tight ends that have a problem with blocking. But i also saw several times LCM has tried to use play action and QB keeps, and they just wont work because there is not a good enough ball fake. The biggest problem is LCM's defense. What it comes down to is that you can't win on effort alone. Great effort beats great talent, but LCM lacks something resembling talent. They are getting run over, or run around. I will say that they play hard and do the best they can with what they have. The starters as of now, minus maybe 4 or 5, are players that have been backups all their lives. I really do feel sorry for all the players coaches and fans, but just think of this, the struggles of this year will only prepare those young guys, and better equip them for next year.
  9. o-f-f-e-n-s-e Kane Katstik (or however you spell it) used to go to LCM, i wish he would have stayed
  10. look Moody being an outsider has nothing to do with it. You cant say he doesnt know how much football means to LCM fans. He comes from some tradition rich schools that love football more than LCM fans ever have. There is a large number of amazing athletes walking the halls that dont play football, and specialize in one sport, alot of times baseball, but that is not "daddy's" choice, its theirs. The current senior class has always been very talent rich. There record from 7th grade to JV goes like this:6-2,7-1,(not sure of the freshman year, because of rita, but it was a winning one), and 6-3. Then before last year several key players quit, to specialize. They have to make due with what they have. The seniors you see in uniform now are the ones who truly love the game of football, thick or thin, hell or highwater. Before ANY coach is going to be successful at LCM the community needs to get behind them and let them do their job. It is going to take a class to come together and say they are going to devote themselves to one goal, regardless of their egos, self agendas, coaching, or other sports. I understand Moody is to take some of the blame, as came apparent when against WOS they ran the same play like 7 times in a row, but he takes much more than he deserves. I can tell you first hand, as a whole the kids at LCM are soft. Over half the team would quit within a week if Hooks were the head coach. LCM has never been a school with great tradition or school pride, and that is the main problem. The next time the people of the Little Cypress or Mauriceville community want to point a finger, they should point it at themselves. Regardless of all this, i will always support the players, because i respect them for choosing to play the game they love
  11. there is absolutely no reason to base that on this one game, don't forget they beat Nederland pretty handily as well
  12. WOW i can't believe i'm really getting screwed out of my senior year. this is a game i've been looking forward to since it ended last year. i would just as soon get 10 more of my teammates and show up at WOS with the 11 of us. this is truly ridiculous. for most of us this will be our last football season ever, and when we are told every practice to play every snap like its your last and that you miss it when its gone, this is totally hypocritical to not play when there is a perfectly good opportunity to
  13. Christine Michael, hands down Quinny is a real good back though, he has a great sense of balance, kinda like Barry Sanders
  14. both the jv and varsity looked really good tonight
  15. try 34-37 out for size...thats a more realistic estimate
  16. you can't blam all the coaches leaving on Moody. several coaches were told not to come back because of different disciplinary issues both personally and as teachers
  17. regardless of cost, not everyone is invited and it will still be a valuable exposure, especially since Ray Woodard (Lamar's new coach) will be coaching team south texas
